We have all found our own ways to cope with the pandemic that never seems to end. But some things are universal. So to keep your spirits up and balance out all the negativity, we at Bored Panda continue our most positive series.

Below, you will find a collection of wholesome pictures that show there is good left in the world after all. We're talking Nepalese climbers removing trash from Mount Everest to firefighters saving animals; this list has everything it needs to soothe your heart. At least for a little while.

That's quite the accomplishment! That first year is hell but so worth it. I'm 15 years sober now and wouldn't trade it for anything. Keep up the great work. I, like many others, are very, very proud of you!

I basically make about $6,000-$8,000 a month online. It’s enough to comfortably replace my old jobs income, especially considering I only work about 10-13 hours a week from home. I was amazed how easy it was after I tried it….. ===))> š–Āš°Āš°.š…Āš®Āš„Āš°ĀšØĀš«Āš¤.š‚ĀšØĀš¦

When you finish going through the pictures, there are more things you can do to make your day a little brighter. Sarah Helen King, psychologist and founder of Invigorise, told Bored Panda that practicing gratitude can do wonders for us.

"Keep a gratitude diary near you and each day just spend a few minutes thinking about one thing you are grateful for, and write it down," Sarah suggested. "Then, whenever you are having a bad day, whip it out and read it. Instant mood enhancer."

    For Those Who Step Up

    For Those Who Step Up

My parents split when I was in first grade. My mom met my step-dad, mark, when I was in second grade. We moved in with him by the time I was in 3rd we moved in to his house. He treated my siblings and I as his own since day 1. He even would watch Gilmore Girls with me and my sister every afternoon. After my mom died when I was 16, Mark didn’t make us go live with our biological dad. He continued raising us as his own. He started out as my mom’s boyfriend and became my dad, my best friend, my go-to for advice.

Mark ended up working 3 jobs while having heart failure, asthma, and diabetes. He did everything he could to provide for my sister and I. He passed away 6 days before I graduated college in 2016. It’s been a few years but I still have trouble on Father’s Day. He could have ditched us when our mom died and we didn’t have enough income. But he didn’t. He was there fighting to put food on the table. Happy Father’s Day for all of the fathers who fight for their children.

A truly magnanimous man. And again, the health system of the US (which is where I assume this family lives) is sickening in every sense of the world. What sort of cruel society makes people with heart failure, let alone other illnesses work simply to pay bills?

Although we do technically have "disability" here, it's extremely difficult to get it, takes years, and is nowhere near enough to live on, much less raise kids. So yeah...USA, once again, is all about making money for corporations, and to heck with the people.

I live in what has been described by certain persons as a sh*thole 3rd world country, and I get my life-saving meds free from my local clinic and since the pandemic, as I am high risk and can't go out much, the very lovely ladies come and drop my chronic meds off at my door every month, and I am not charged for this service either. We do give donations though if we can to the ladies. Just something for the Americans to think about. And I am so sorry for all of the people battling financially due to the insane meds prices in the USA.

Why not introduce legislation that removes a price altogether for the public ? You pay taxes that goes towards the upkeep of roads in town and cities across the the US that you'll never use, improves areas of towns and cities that you'll never visit and pay towards a military budget with firearms you'll never use all of this done quite happily. Yet when it comes to making you feel better and curing or managing illnesses through having a healthcare where you get the right medicine or antibiotics without anyone to make a profit is a deeply divisive issue. Quite often, patients are given meds that aren't as effective as it can be, then moved onto another drug with slightly better results and so on until the correct one is given with the most effective results. This should've been done in the first place, however it seems that quite often, it's a case of profits before people.

But you did it! I always think about how long I have been sober-whether its three weeks, three months, three years...even three days.....I just think to myself, " If I break down and do this, I 110% know I will have to get sober again. Is this-whatever it is insert here-worth having to live thru every single day of the past number of--days -weeks-months-years--, from day one, again?! Wish I had known about that thought six years ago( sober 8 years, and then six years...with two stupid days in between) re-living those 8 years, the first two I would not wish on the devil himself. If I had only known that, I would have eagerly suffered thru that first day I fell off wagon, hands down. I would have hung on to that thought, and called somebody, and been 14 years sober today. I have to look at it as, it had to happen to teach me that, and, so somebody I don't know "out there" will keep this thought with them, and it will save them from paying for one day or two, with doing years over.

But when it comes to news, the psychologist believes the only way to stop it from bothering us is to simply not watch it. "This has been hugely effective for many of my clients in minimizing anxiety in their day-to-day lives," she explained.

"As an alternative suggestion though, give yourself a daily time (e.g 6 pm) and limit (10 minutes) where you will catch up with the day's events. If you are prone to anxiety, steer clear of clicking on headlines that you know will be a trigger for you, and then after do something you enjoy, like go for a walk in nature or phone a friend for a catch-up and steer the conversation to something positive that happened in the day."

The blame for his death is mostly on the media which essentially blew his cover reporting about fake bomb explosions, for the sake of getting the "exclusive" truth out. He infiltrated the ISIS command and drove suicide bombers to their targets, and, as ISIS believed, detonated bombs in Shia communities in Baghdad. Unknown to ISIS, these "deliveries" never reached targets and were all (30 in total) successfully driven to military bases, where controlled explosions and arrests were carried out. In order to keep Harith's cover, the military would report fake news stories of explosions and casualties to the press, with media cooperation. However, eventually, the media began to publish stories of fake explosions. ISIS became suspicious, Harith's cover was soon blown and he was tortured and executed.

This is as wholesome as it is sad. Mountaineering should be about experiencing nature to its fullest, so people who do it SHOULD be aware of what they're doing to nature by littering. But as it's nowadays a matter of money to be carried up Mt Everest, even a remote place like that is invaded by selfish pricks.

Good on these climbers for clearing rubbish, but couldn't the article be about what actions local governments, inspired by these do gooders, now plan to take to prevent litter in the first place?

We bought a house at the beach for retirement a year ago, had a swimming pool built as much for our dog's love of swimming as for ourselves, had a shelf all around the edge and stairs so he (10 years old) could get in and out of the pool easily and he died just as it was finished. It breaks my heart that the doggie we took to the beach every year for 10 years will never get to actually live there year round. He LOVED swimming. We miss you Leo, our golden boy.

Me too. You will. And you will flourish again. If more people talked about it, you would realize how common it is that people struggle with it. Here's all I know to share: depression is caused by living in the past and anxiety is caused by worrying about the future. Forgive anything in your past, and focus on being present and prepared for the future. What NO ONE tells you is THIS, when people meditate for 20-30 minutes, only 2-3 of those minutes are spent in real meditation. The rest of the time is racing. THIS IS SO IMPORTANT TO KNOW BECAUSE PEOPLE FEEL LIKE FAILURES WHEN THEY TRY MEDITATING AND CANT FOCUS. Just know that even the best can't focus more than 2-3 minutes. Be gentle with yourself.

We can improve everybody's life so much by just letting animals live their life among us, as long as we accomodate them well and treat them with respect. Even if you can't afford a pet, be friendly to any wild animal you meet on your way, make room for them in your place as much as possible : you'll never feel sad and lonely anymore. One of the worst, most toxic for the environment and self-destructive feelings in humanity is to think that we're alone on this planet and only have to care about ourselves.

"as long as we accomodate them well and treat them with respect" EXACTLY. As an ethologist i made my thesis about it and the point was to study the effects of animal mediation on severe apathy/brain damage AND to prove that a free range animal is best and more efficient for patients and just basic respect for the animals. My appendices featured WTF pictures of mistreated animals performing "pet therapy". I proved very well that free range animals are even more efficient. Once a severely apathetic patient said "oh, the cat is about to jump off the wardrobe!" "yes he is madam!" it needs a very deep insight and interest to predict a behavior, that was awesome for a severely apathetic patient. Could not have been there with a poor tied cat who have no choice and is stressed as hell. This kind of people should be forbidden to work around animals and vulnerable people, they can make a lot of damages on both. maltraitan...fa7612.jpg maltraitance-6103f68fa7612.jpg

Animal mediation can do wonders. As an ethologist i studied the effects of sessions with my cat on severe apathy due to Alzheimer and brain damage. He managed to make a severly apathetic patient suffering from Alzheimer and stroke brain damage to use an arm that she never used since her stroke years before. Good job kitty! RIP kitty, he was a rescue and i lost him from mediastinal cancer while writing my thesis, it was awful but i know that he helped people a lot. photo-1-61...2a078a.jpg photo-1-6103ef12a078a.jpg

ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! I'm a US citizen over 60, he was the first president I ever voted for, and I cannot stand the way his presidency is typically described. He wasn't the greatest spokesman for his policies and beliefs, and he was certainly unlucky, but he was not a "bad president" at ALL - and indeed, as you say, had he won a second term, the entire world would probably be in a much better situation today. Thanks Les!

My mum's neighbour has a dog and he absolutely refuses to go for a walk unless she comes outside to say "Hi!" He just stands under her window, waiting.

My dog. A neighbor always want to give him treats from his trunk, my dog shows up, greet him playfully and sit like a begging good boy, and the neighbor give him a treat and my dog put it on the soil. "I don't like your treats human! I just like the fact that you want to give me treats! Totally different things!" He likes this joke a lot, doing it to other dog owners with treats in their pockets, young children in front of bakeries... "gimme gimme i'm a good boy!please!" "oh, it's not for me it's an offering for the soil gods".

We had a dog that loved bread rolls, (mostly just to buy them in the backyard lol). All our neighbors knew and they always bought an extra one for him just to be greeted with his excited tail wagging whenever they came back from grocery shopping.

i remember once i high school. it was toward the end of the year, and a very hot stretch of weather came up with temps in the upper 90s. the building was old, and only the more recently built addition that housed the offices had any air conditioning so it was pretty brutal for the students. The school also had an no shorts allowed dress policy, but girls were allowed to wear skirts so long as they were no shorter than 2in above the knee. that week there were several instances of students passing out from heat related issues, and one was a girl who fell backwards down the stairs and got hurt pretty significantly. The Boys football team decided to all wear skirts in protest, and some other students that got wind of it also participated, along with multiple parent complaints and the school officially changed the dress code to allow shorts after that.

I love the far right one...I see a palm tree, up top, over the beach, and ocean. A sunset, that's so warm and soft that the sun is just melting into it...and silhouettes of pple, one is in the ocean, fishing.....

First responders rock, I can tell you firsthand that those firefighters got more out of it than just feeding your fluffy’s. Our first responders have a really tough job and the more cuddles that they can get, the better!

Hi everyone these are our puppies and the remains of our home in the background. Please know we would NEVER have left our animals behind. We were away from the farm attempting to help evacuate Lytton when the fire jumped the river and raced 4 km from it start point. It moved unbelievable fast. Access to our farm was blocked by the fire from both directions. We spent 4 days fighting for access to be allowed in to get our animals. On day 5 we went rogue and showed up at the roadblock and told them we were not leaving without our animals. We carry a great deal of guilt for not being able to save the animals who perished in the fire and well a guilt for not being able to rescue our surviving animals sooner.

First of all thank you for helping others evacuate! I am so sorry for the losses you have endured. Secondly please don't beat yourself up and feel guilty. I know it's easier said than done and I'd probably be the same way but it was out of your control. Also please do not take people's comments personally. I think we see things like this and assume the worst because honestly human beings can really suck. So thank you for explaining! Hang in there, and give your family and those animals extra love and hugs and may they be a source of comfort during this time. I will pray for you!

Sometimes people just need to feel needed. It was probably hard for him, but also good for him. I know that sometimes I have felt like I just couldn't move, but i needed to be somewhere for someone so I had to motivate. Almost always, the experience turned my mood around for the better and was just what I needed, even though it was the last thing I wanted to do.

My parents both had full time jobs back in the late 50s when I was born. My mom worked days and my dad nights. Dad and I spent a good amount of time in the garage, doing his latest project. Before I entered kindergarden, I could change a flat tire, change the various fluids in a car. As I aged, I moved several hours away for a job. Several times a year I'd be working on my car, rotating tires, putting the snow tires on in the fall and taking them off in the spring, changing antifreeze or oil. I can't tell you how many times men stopped offering to do it, for me, bless them. I had to tell them I had it covered. ;)

Only last weekend I went to the first punk gig in ages, we had a lady and her dog walk past at one point and we all made a fuss of the dog, of course. Punks love animals.

I was behind in my reading and had to go to special classes. If I didn’t have that, I would have been stuck behind all my fellow students for a long time. It’s really hard not being able to read as well as others and it’s so great he’s read his first big book. It was a really important moment for me too.

When I was a kid, the local library had something called the "Ribbit Readers Club". You advanced in level by reading a certain number of books, and at each new rank you'd get a small prize. At the highest rank, you got a special trophy of a frog sitting on a book. And they did themed costume parties and everything. It was a great way of encouraging kids to read! I've still got my Ribbit trophy proudly displayed on one of my bookshelves. :D

Good job buddy!!! I also had a hard time reading when I was about 7/8. Had a great teacher and grandmother who took notice and turned it around. I read at least a book a week or more. Lots of years reading now and I still love it. I’m 70.

USA here: Its lovely for the team to do. They should be commended for their great deed. But, on the other hand, this is a USA failure - this family could not afford to care for their child due to the lack of affordable healthcare here. This family should not have had to rely on the goodwill of high school students

This isn't uplifting. It's great they do this and all ... but ... insurance won't pay? Parents can't afford? This is, by all means, a medical condition which makes him even need this! This shouldn't rely on volunteers, or on his parents' income, or on anything but medical criteria - and the insurance shouldn't even have the right not to pay. They're there for something, not only for collecting money to hand out to their obscenely rich shareholders.

Autistic Boy's Parents Makes A Sign To Inform People Passing By That He Just Communicates Like That

Our autistic son’s window overlooks a park. When he yells to get kids attention, people were calling the police thinking someone was in distress. We made a 7 foot banner of him as his fav musician to let people know he’s safe and happy. Now he gets friendly waves every day from kids in the park.

Man Buys $540 Worth Of Girl Scout Cookies So Girls Don't Have To Stay Out In Cold

It depends on the GS Council as to when they sell cookies. When I was GS in CA, it was spring. My daughter's GSC in MD, orders and delivery Sept-early Nov. And down the road in a different county connected to PA GSC sells at end of winter. FYI, they also had different bakeries, so if you get Thin Mints or Do Si Dos(sp?) You are getting them from original bakery. If they have a name change, then it is the other bakery.

Most of the wig "donation" nonprofits actually charge families quite a lot for wigs. By all means, keep donating if you want to, but there may be better ways to support people with cancer and other severe illnesses. Donate blood. Wash your hands. Stay home when you're sick. Make sure you're on the kidney and bone marrow donor lists. Be an organ donor. Push for funding for cancer research and quality, accessible healthcare, etc.

When I was seriously depressed and in therapy, my therapist asked if I had had any suicidal thoughts. I said no, and even though I was at the lowest point I've ever been in my life to date I stuck by my lifelong philosophy of "this too shall pass". Nothing lasts forever, including the bad times, so there's no sense in ending it when a better tomorrow could be just around the corner. Thankfully, I was proven right. I got through it and now I'm enjoying life again. 😊

Living ain't all that bad. It is the frustrations and illnesses that take us down. But life, the spark that caused our brains to burst into existence, can experience some amazing things. My moment was sitting at the Grand Canyon with my wife and just seeing that time, so so much time, has passed and will pass with or without me but this is my time to cherish, no one else's.

WOW. What a difference. I know you changed some of your outside look, but that, is definitely not all because you physically changed your appearance. I swear, I think, down in your core, your soul, how you feel about yourself, how you treat others, and how you act when no one is watching, emanates from deep inside of you, and your appearance is affected by that. It manifest your internal beauty on the outside.( same goes for if you treat others badly, yourself badly, have nothing nice to say about anybody, and do bad deeds-that turns ugly on the inside, and radiates outward as part of your appearance.)

Related - I know some people throw a fit about whitewashed photos, but look at these. Literally just the quality of lighting and the quality of camera changes what her skin tone looks like, even her hair color is probably contributing. Girl looks amazing, I’m proud of her.

My cats ... the former generation (1998 to 2011 and 1998 o 2018) knew the sound of my bike. They'd run to the window when they had heard it, watch me get off it and walk to the door, and approach me right when I came in for some rubs and scratches and stuff. Current cat hasn't been introduced to the bike yet.
