This Online Group Collects The Best Personal Tweets, Here Are 50 That Deserve The Attention They Got (New Pics)
Thoughts constantly swirl around in our heads. From when we open our eyes in the morning until we close them at night (and sometimes, even after that), there's always something for us to contemplate about.
In fact, a 2020 study suggests people typically have more than 6,000 thoughts per day. That's a lot. And as much as we'd like to believe otherwise, not all of them are brilliant. So with social media allowing us to instantly share whatever crosses our mind, we broadcast quite a lot of funny, weird, and infuriating personal takes, too.
To illustrate just how random our statements can be, we at Bored Panda put together a new publication on the subreddit whose sole mission is to capture the chaotic side of human interaction. Continue scrolling to check out its latest finds and fire up our earlier piece on it when you're done.

This Would Be The Greatest Irony
To learn more about our inner filters, we contacted Phil Reed, D.Phil., who is a professor of psychology at Swansea University.
"There are many reasons why people overshare," Dr. Reed told Bored Panda. "A lack of awareness about the dangers is one, but also the lack of 'real' social feedback online is a big contributor. Since there is a degree of anonymity, certain a lack of immediate feedback, people tend to get it wrong in terms of sharing."

However, even though the reasons why people overshare may vary, the act itself seems pretty much universal. Also, researchers from The University of Edinburgh and Northwestern University in Illinois found that the risk of oversharing in conversation actually increases as people age.
When testing 100 people from 17 to 84 years old on their attention skills, the researchers discovered that the older subjects provided listeners with more irrelevant details than their younger peers. As this behavior can be dangerous — older people, for example, might accidentally reveal private info to strangers looking to take advantage — this finding is essential in helping "design targeted training that helps older adults improve these skills and avoid embarrassing and potential risky communicative errors,” said lead researcher Madeleine Long, of the University of Edinburgh's School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences.

I feel the same about these appeal shows that they have on TV. Lots of celebrities virtue-signalling about how they are working the night for free as they try to guilt you into donating part of your rent to charity. Don't get me wrong, we give to local charities when we can afford to and they do some brilliant work. But I will not tolerate some rich TV star trying to make me feel guilty about keeping a roof over our head and food on the table. Furthermore, and this bit is horrible but it needs telling, a poor elderly lady killed herself in the UK a couple of years ago because she couldn't afford to give to every appeal directed her way. Every penny she had was sunk into charity appeals and when the money ran out she felt so bad that she had to end her life. Literally killed by kindness.

I've met Dan! We were both buying coffee and chatting casually; he asked if I was staying at the cafe with my coffee, so we sat and just talked about generic stuff. I had no idea who he is at the time. Incredibly friendly and nice man!
Dr. Reed said people should be very wary of oversharing. "It can compromise personal security, and personal safety, as well as lead to bullying."
"It can also make people very vulnerable psychologically; if they are feeling low, overshare to get support, and are attached for it, then depression can set in."

This Is How Ya Do It
To keep ourselves in check, Dr. Reed suggests treating communication on the internet the same as in real life.
"Remember, online is just as much of a social interaction as in the real world," he said. "Do not share anything online that you would not in real life. People can get a little impulsive with their digital interactions, so just remember that. Perhaps count to 10 before sharing."

But if you are bothered by another person who starts to give you too much information, psychotherapist Amy Morin says your first line of defense should be to change the subject.
For instance, try saying, 'Sorry to hear that. Have you heard the weather for tomorrow?' Sometimes people will take the hint, but you may need a more direct approach if the other person continues to overshare.

because republicans believe obviously that women's political opinions don't count but women are merely there to reproduce, as per the recent RvW judgment
The key in such situations is to not reciprocate. Just because your boss tells you she's going through a divorce, that doesn't mean you need to tell her about your marital problems as well.
While sharing your personal stories can be empowering, you should do that at the right time, in the right place, and with the right people.

A Mother Did What The Police Refused To Do
because men who think they need to carry guns are at heart cowards living in fear.
I genuinely couldnt send my child to a school in america, i dont even want to go visit my brother who has lived in indiana for the last 15 years, i just dont see it as a place worth risking going to. Im sure most people are decebt human beings but the ones that arent are far too dangerous and while a minority are still far too many
I know. My father was in the US several times for job purposes and I know of at least one time when, in his immediate vicinity, there was a man on the lose with a gun. My boyfriend was in the US twice(!), also for job purposes, and managed to nonchalantly come across a policeman on his evening walk who informed him that he shouldn't walk further, someone's been shooting and is on the lose. Meanwhile, all of us have spent the majority of our lives in Germany without this happening even *once*. Some shootings still happen, of course, but not to the point that parents buy bullet-proof school bags or that anyone would in all honesty say "well, your fault for leaving a door open"...
Load More Replies...I saw a more in-depth video yesterday of their lack of action & it's heartbreaking!!! 7 cops, armed w/ flak jackets & riot gear, stood in the hall listening to the screams of children while the gunman slaughtered those innocent babies & teachers. F*$king disgusting & they ALL need to be fired!
This is exactly what I would have done. The police would have to shoot me.
Amen! I would have gone in to get my kids or die trying. The police response is a moral and national disgrace.
Load More Replies...Yep. They did set out a bunch of tear gas canisters but then apparently someone figured out that they're not so useful when only one guy has a gas mask.
Load More Replies...Wow, what a woman! Not once was she mentioned in the news in my country during reporting about that school tragedy.
I'm in the USA and that's the first that I have heard of it.
Load More Replies...So did the mom go get her kids while there was a gunman inside while the men were cowards outside as usual???
At this point in time I have yelled at the TV. Save the kids you have guns and vests on. I yell because I would be crying otherwise. The officer in charge and the policemen who obeyed him should be fired. I need to stop now, or I will start using words like cowards, stupid idiots, you should have run towards the shots. I offer my sympathy to the parents and the town of Uvaide. You paid for protection and got dead children and teachers.
Yeah. I watched the hour and a half long video of nobody doing anything at all. It was infuriating. Normally, parents shouldn't go into an unsafe situation like that, because normally, the police would be clearing the building and the parent might get shot. But there were like 70 officers there from local police, sheriff, Texas rangers, and border patrol and they sat there for over an hour milling around doing nothing with all the kids and the shooter still in the building. There wasn't any awareness of the fact a bunch of children and two adults had already been shot and needed medical care. It was appalling for s number of reasons and a whole lot of people need to be in trouble.
Here's a fact that haunts me: while all those officers were standing around outside, some of the kids who had been shot were laying there dying. I wonder how many might have survived if they'd been able to be transported to a hospital more quickly. I don't know how those parents survive this...I would be utterly broken.
Load More Replies...As a mother, she has the right to lay down her life to protect her children. Maybe the police should focus on the job at hand instead of restraining a mother trying to save her babies … bullying & cowardice, SMH. 😕
It's the video that is breaking my heart again, watching those cops in their gear milling around in the hallways while listening to the children's screams. How could they???????
I watched the whole 82 minute video on YouTube, it was awful like 45 min in u see 1 cop hand sanitize from the wall dispenser, u have time for that but couldnt save the helpless children and 2 teachers when u ran in 3 minutes after gunfire 1st started... and as a parent I would do the same as that mom I'm glad her boys were safe
I would have done the exact same thing she did but most likely would not have been handcuffed because I'm white.
Ms. Jessica, where did you get your information? And, I wish the community would rally around the mother & she run for office ... like the Mayor!
And if she had been shot she would have been called a stupid Karen for not doing as she was told. Funny how ballsy women are only heroes when it suits.
Strange how repukes think teachers should be armed, while armed, trained police officers are afraid to face someone armed with a military style rifle.
YES THERE WAS A MAJOR FAIL ON THE RESPONSE. BUT GOOD MEN WHOM CARRY ARE WILLING TO RUN TOWARDS DANGER. I ALWAYS HAVE AND HAVE SAVED PEOPLE.

Load More Replies...Ummmmm, but introducing gun laws and restrictions would mean that either he wouldn't HAVE access to guns in the first place, or that authorities WOULD have the ability to take his guns from him even if he's over 18- that's kind of the point!? Also- part of the introduction of most gun restrictions/laws is to deal with the "too many guns on the street" problem anyway!
