Great shot BUT: It is never a good idea to climb temples or indeed any old buildings that are part of any country's cultural heritage. Beyond the disrespect, it also brings real damage when enough people will have done the same.

Temples in Bagan have stairs to get to the top, sometimes inside and sometimes on the outside. You are not allowed to climb all of them, but there are enough of them that unless you go to the 2-3 largest ones, you might be the only one there. Just be careful, respectful and if you see any trash from people that were not, help pick up.

So far I enjoyed the photos but this baby elephant doesn;t seem to be too happy to have you both near him. You shouldn't support these kind of animal businesses. In Thailand there's lots of elephant "sanctuaries" who just make money out of the elephants' back, without actually treating them well.

Technically, this is against the rules. You are across the barriers and much too close to the edge. You know how many people fall off those cliff every single year? There are signs EVERYWHERE telling you not to do this, every time my cousins visit we have go there and I have to keep reminding them...

Technically?? It is against the rules! It's annoying hearing about tourists who do dumb things and then turn around and blame it on the country or place where they were at. And the most beautiful thing about the country is someone's face? Posting pictures like these with you standing on monuments are just standing at 500ft plus drop off a cliff face is irresponsible. It encourages other people to follow because hey! Let's get that cool shot to post and go viral. What about the coast guards who have to go fetch your broken body so your family can mourn? What standing on valuable monuments and temples is great because you know what? They are so easy to replace!

Technically, it's not the Sahara desert yet. But very close though.

Yes, that's partially correct. Although technically already the desert, for most travellers we are still not there because we are close to Ouarzazate in the photo, not far from Zagora where the desert starts for most people (or at least the sand dunes). We visited Merzouga as well, much better.
