Helix Tattoo Trend Is Taking Over Instagram, And These 51 Pics Will Make You Want To Get One Too
3Mviews
A new tattoo trend is taking over Instagram, and, we must say, it's pretty awesome. Say goodbye to earrings and ear cuffs, and hello to helix tattoos.
The helix is the thin curved outer part of the ear and now people are jazzing it up with dainty ink designs. From flowers to paw prints to minimalist lines - there are so many different ways to spice up your helix, the possibilities are endless. The best part? You never have to worry about losing an earring again!

I love this, it's so simple ♥ I'd want to get a black tattoo just like this one, only if the black ink stayed black forever, but nah it's a pity it turns kinda green after a while and it needs to be retouched :/
Thanks for posting! If you want to check my work go to instagram @ximenamil
With this one, you have to consider the fact that you will look like Van Gogh with your ear wrapped up like that (-;
If this guy is on my boat, he gets thrown off every time we want to stay put
This one is so dainty and pretty without the harsh black lines. I love it!
This one is good, why it got down votes? matches the rest of his ink.
Sorry, but living in Florida, they make me think of ticks. I assure you it would be a conversation starter on the best way to get rid of the blood suckers!
I think it looks like stained glass. I would love to see some color!
They look interesting. But a tattoo trend, again? It's not my business or anything and if you wanna do that, more power to you. But if you are going for a tattoo that will last for the rest of your life, I'd recommend to choose something on a place that isn't a "trend" at the moment and something you REALLY wanted to have for a long time. It gives it more meaning than just following a trend.
I always interpret trends as being ideas rather than an actual must have. I wouldn't have thought of helix tattoos if I didn't see it.
With that I fully agree. If you find it interesting on itself and keep the trend and inspiration seperate and then only focus on the inspiration, then it is all fine. My aim was more towards those who put a tattoo like that on their skin, simply because of that trend and don't care much for actually liking the idea of a helix tattoo. Your way of thinking about the tattoo is more logical, than those who simply follow the trend.
Let's not forget the awesome "tramp stsmp" trend 😂😂😂
Aren't tats art? Hmmm. Do you consider canvas artists trendy? I wonder? Rockwell, Michangelo, Picasso, Wahol...trendy. Let it be, let it be...there will be an answer...let it be...oh dang another artist. Can't get away from ART!
Or maybe people can do what they want with their body ? And if they find something pretty they can do it, whatevers morons thinks ><
I quote from my original comment: "It's not my business or anything and if you wanna do that, more power to you."
Btw Virginie, to continue on my previous reply to you: I find tattoos pretty awesome to see and greatly respect tattoo artists. Also I wasn't even being rude. So don't even try to unnecessarily shout your sarcasm at me.
All this is cute and trendy, but unlike the rings and jewelry one can attach to the ears, lips, and nose, once they are in place, there is no removing them unless the recipient is ready to undergo some torture and actually pay for it as well. With the rings and jewelry, they can be removed, and the skin will quickly fill in the holes and the person will look normal again. That's the way to go if you want to show your individuality. :D
Traps are permanent?! Thank you so much for enlightening us with your wisdom.
True, and I'm not a tattoo kinda girl, but these are much nicer then the ones I usually see on people!!
1) Some of these ears are nasty dirty 2) Those tattoos will look great when those are the ears of eighty year olds
Its probably excess ink , not actual dirty ears you are seeing...it happens when rhey wipe
