Spending time with your fellow human beings is important, fun and incredibly rewarding, but it doesn't come easy to all of us. Some people are simply happier alone, or at least with a select few, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that!
However, because of you know, society, there are times when contact with people is necessary, even for the most introverted of us. That's why when a blissful moment of solitude does occur, an unexpected cancellation for example, or a glorious moment of communion with nature, it is truly something to savor. People on Twitter are sharing their #IntrovertTurnOns, and we are sure that you'll find many of them relatable!
We here at Bored Panda have compiled a list of our favorites for all the introverts out there. Scroll down below to check them out for yourself, and feel free to share your own in the comments! (Cover image: CoCreatr I Facebook cover image: SchuminWeb )

The Jekyll/Hyde thing when two introverts figure it out and start to talk is difficult to describe to others, but a real delight when it happens!
Peculiarly, I live in a small village where a lot of the locals know me, and I find that reassuring. We talk or wave every time that we pass, and the tourists and other blow-ins say nothing. I think it's the combination of community with the rural person's understanding of space...
To those people complaining about the times you need help, this is EXACTLY how it should be. Speaking for both introversion and efficiency, you should only have to call upon someone when you actually need help. Then when they do help you, they do it as quickly as possible, so they can get back to overseeing a half dozen other shoppers who might need them. The alternative is faking a smile to a cashier forcing small talk and judging your purchases - not always silently - forcing you to buy a bunch of c**p you don't need in hopes of distracting them from the wart cream and 50 Shades book you came in for.
My suggestion: Don't say their names, sometomes they take it for granted.
Load More Replies...Literally do this all the time. I have hearing loss so at work sometimes I pretend I can't hear them lol #sorrynotsorry
I do this a lot cuz people don't get my weirdness. It's just better to avoid them til I find a fellow weirdo.
For me it's: Having a sunny day and playing video games/watching anime while drinking Coca-Cola :D
Or volunteering to work the graveyard shift because you can take your coffee break outside at 4am when the streets are quiet and even the birds are asleep....
I just love the sound of rain period. Whatever time of the day, whenever...I just love to hear it. Plus the smell of mud and the trees (?!) is really calming.
Mine is executing the dodge when I walk down the corridor to work without having to say good morning to everyone else...
Except for the cat. Cats, dogs, other pets don't count as people, but we're so glad to see them.
Holy s**t! Its me! Like even with family and people im close to its like, as long as you're around and safe and happy that will do me, no need for anything more.
I tell everyone at work I NEED my days of to recharge my "nice" battery. I wear a green apron...nuff said...
Sometimes I catch myself thinking, what even is the point of ordering online so I don't have to go to the store, if I'm gonna have to talk to people to get my mail anyway?
Trying to read something while in a moving train would likely make me puke. Is that similar to a shy smile?
Although I enjoyed the book, I was already swooning the first time I saw the movie and Harry and Ron have their Christmas in the Gryffindor common room (without all the other Gryffindors!), but when Harry got his invisibility cloak I was transported to heaven...
Where the heck do you live that classes get cancelled because of heavy rain? Our whole county could flood and they'd still expect you to show up ready to learn.. your-still...aa249c.jpg
I'm just annoyed whenever their are bunch of empty seats but people insist to sit near me and being loud because they are a group.
Due to having older brothers I need to see all entrances to a room, including windows.
Yes, I get tired of that too, but that is where our society is currently at, unfortunately. If you aren't one extreme then you must be the other.....as if gray areas don't exist. :/
Well that better be printed on the cover of the book, otherwise there's a dilemma.
AND a waiter/waitress who does NOT make snarky comments about dining alone!!!
HECK YEAH!! I love those kinds of nights! And my husband has hands of magic!
Displaying my talent leads to people leaving in a hurry, or calling an exorcist.
I saw a bumper sticker that said "13.1 hours of Netflix watched in a row. 26.2 Oreo cookies eaten in one sitting." That is an introvert night.
I don't know if these turn me on, but some of them are examples of things that I like or engage in, as I imagine many other people do, whether introverted or not.
I feel these are standard human emotions when there is already enough stressors out in life. Having some personal space, some quiet or some alone time is refreshing for everyone at times. The pushing of "introvert vs. extrovert" seems a bit too extreme.
Load More Replies...I like people, when they don't come to close and when they don't start talking to me !
Load More Replies...These mostly sound like social anxiety to me. Is that the same as being an introvert?
Not uncommon to have a little anxiety if you're severely introverted, I think. But yeah, for me being introverted is more about getting tired when being around a lot of people over some amount of time, and enjoying my own company. I do enjoy some socialization from time to time, though! Just not a lot.
Load More Replies...I'm an introvert, and some of these descriptions seem more anti-social or socially anxious than introverted. I am social and enjoy it, it just takes me a day or two to recharge my batteries afterwards.
Vas a morir ahora. This is the only thing that can give me peace and happiness. Sometimes I like awake thinking it will never happen. And then we're will I be.
Disorder or issue. Introverts can and often do interact happily with society and individuals.
Load More Replies...I am a fortysomething now and really "fake it till you make it" starts working for me at last. I was hiding behind the bins to avoid saying "Hi" to random neighbours when I was twentyish and now I am blending in, people might think I am an extrovert. But what pain it was, all my life! I still get sweaty hands in "people" situations but do the talk and everything.
When I went to school I always loved when some kind of flu or sickness was going around and like half the class was home from school. So pleasant. Weight off my shoulder. (I'm not saying I like that people are sick, but I sure love that sweet sweet absence of people)
I liked it when I was sick, so I could stay home, watching my cartoons with some cookies and a cup of chocolate milk. And play video games, and read in my bed until I fall asleep. And then... Graduate year of high school, I somehow became the kind of student who would come to school with 38°C of fever just because I promised to the teacher I would do the oral examinations, so I wouldn't need to take written tests. Don't ask me how it happened. My brain just turned upside down.
Load More Replies...Always going to the same Falafel restaurant and I only have to say: "one !"
A person asked me: "Do you have a social phobia?" and after thinking a second I answered: "It's more of a social aversion." And I stand by that answer, the more I think of it. I don't really hate people, I just don't like them so very much. Except a few. But I don't like being with them either.
Oh wow. Too many of these ring true for me. I've never identified as an introvert... but I suppose I must at least lean in that direction!
I keep seeing all these articles and feeds about introverts. Why the sudden interest? Leave us alone!
Why don't introverts just hang out with other people? THEY're SO DUMB!!1!!!!111
