In a series of viral videos, Sidneyraz tells the viewers ‘something I didn’t know until I was in my 30s’ and enacts the things in funny home scenarios.
With a whopping 842.2K followers and some videos racking up more than 5M views, you can see that this guy has definitely hit our soft spot: FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) on even more years wasted without knowing such obvious, yet game-changing things.

Not everything goes downhill as we age. Well, surely our close friends circle becomes smaller, hangovers get worse and more responsibilities fall on our shoulders. But a new body of research has shown that some of our brain abilities improve as we age.
For example, a 2011 study looking at data from more than 60,000 people found that our ability to recognize faces continued to improve as we age—until just after we hit age 30. I do this while making omelettes. Just be careful there is very little oil in the pan to prevent burns.

This is a real technique - but unfortunately demosntrated absurdly, as this version would result in a huge mess on the floor (except if the pan was on without any kind of oil, butter or fat). The pan flip is meant to be used with a plate or another pan - then it is a useful method to flip foods that would collapse or crumble otherwise, as pancakes, omelettes...

This presumes that the pan contains a) only one piece of food to be flipped and b) no liquid of any sort. Also, are you supposed to use the back of the spatula here? Because most spatulas designed for flipping things have the handle set at an angle to the flat part. This just looks so awkward...

Put a large plate over in contents of your frying pan - turn over keeping pan in place - remove pan and put back on the burner - then slide contents of plate (now flipped) safely into the pan.

Tin foil has a shiny and dull side because of how it's manufactured. It's so thin, they put two sheets through the rollers at once. They've said they see no difference in which way you use it

Every time I see another TikTok video I’m really trying to stay objective and read it through. And every time it’s either bunch of bullshit or things so obvious kids in kindergarten probably knows it. I've commented a few times about how ridiculous it is to have to look at 14 giant photos of someone's nostrils or making a slightly different face or those who spent 3 hours doing their make up so want every angel to be shown, hoping they'll pass an audition. It gets voted down so much I stopped posting. I'm glad to see this Tik Tok crap annoys others, too. Has it occurred to any of you posting all the negative comments, that he's just sharing helpful little 'hacks' or tips he's learned to use, that others may not have known about and can try them out for themselves. I've been putting sheets on beds for half a decade and until today I didn't know the tag is on the lower left of the fitted sheets! And putting salt in a pan with hot oil in it is a helpful tip for anyone who's just learning to cook, no matter their age. Sheesh, so much negativity from so many... it's discouraging to see here.

I did find the one about the dishwasher interesting. I had no clue it had a filter. I grew up overseas in a third world culture that didn’t have almost any of the technology I now have in the United States, including a dishwasher and a dryer. I had left the US when I was 8, so, when I first came back to the United States for college a few years ago, even though I was coming from a family that are citizens from America, I had no idea how to use a dryer or a dishwasher - even though I was 19. So, I find some of this stuff really interesting. Thanks!

You can’t see it in the screenshots, but in the video it’s him making fun of himself for not knowing these things. Of course not everyone is this ignorant, that’s the point. Sometimes it looked like he was just milking basic stuff for filler, like the wooden spoon to stop overflow, but some of this was good info! My husband and I weren't homeowners until fifteen years ago. Still on our first home, we're learning there is a lot of stuff we should have learned about and been don't all along and we are trying to catch up now. This week we're repairing our washer. It's been way out of balance and, once taken apart, we found a lot of wet lint deep in it. I think it will be fine now that it's cleaned, but we had no idea that there is a filter to be cleaned. I recently started treating our cabinets with beeswax, such a difference. We obviously should have been doing it all along, but had no idea. The travel pillow on front? I didn't fly regularly until my thirties. It was a few summers of flying home before I realized that one.
