A quarter of them are even hosting gatherings of more than 10 people, making it a time for togetherness and cherished family traditions.

While the centerpiece of Thanksgiving is enjoying a delicious meal and sharing gratitude with friends and family, the day wouldn’t be complete without a few beloved traditions.

For many, that includes tuning in to watch sports—something 35% of Americans say they’re extremely or very likely to do. Meanwhile, 19% plan to watch the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, a long-standing part of the holiday. Interestingly, men are more inclined to watch sports, while women are more likely to catch a parade.

And after all the eating, chatting, and celebrating, what better way to wrap up the day than with a cozy nap? In fact, 6 in 10 Americans admit they’re more likely to indulge in naps during the holiday season. It’s a well-earned rest after all that turkey and pie!

To really get into the Thanksgiving spirit, it’s important to make your home reflect the occasion. The dinner table, where everyone comes together, is the perfect place to start.

“We love making our tablescaping as natural as possible, and using pine cone decorations and beautiful fall-colored leaves is a great way to bring the beauty of the outdoors, indoors,” says Sarah Kostoris, founder of homeware brand Sarah K, , in a conversation with Homes & Gardens. She suggests scattering them across the table and adding candles to create a cozy, warm glow.

Pumpkins are a classic choice for autumn decorations, but there’s plenty of room to get creative with them. “It wouldn’t be the fall season without a pumpkin, but there are more possibilities than the typical orange ones,” says Carmel Donohue, founder of Poppy Belle Florals. If you have the time, try painting them in different colors like white, green, or even shades of red.

Don’t forget about the outside of your home when decorating for Thanksgiving. A wreath on your front door makes a great addition, and if you have a porch, you can include even more decorations. Consider using vegetables, leaves, pinecones, sprigs of berries, or small gourds to create a welcoming display that symbolizes abundance and gratitude.
