Online Group Shares 50 “Terminally Stupid” People Showing How Dumb They Really Are
We’re all guilty of having done something dumb in the past. Things that sometimes keep us awake at night or make us cringe in the middle of the workday. Remember that idiotic thing that you did way back in middle school that made everyone laugh at you? Yeah, let’s spend the next four hours obsessing over it and imagining how things couldn’t have gone worse and how everyone’s probably still laughing at you. However, getting some perspective can set us free.
That’s where the r/TerminallyStupid subreddit, an online community with just over 121k members, comes in. The group documents the times when “terminally stupid” people were “dumb in a way that threatens their safety or someone else’s.” And the things they post are most likely miles worse than anything we’ve ever done.
We’re featuring some of their best pics, so grab yourself some popcorn and get ready to dive deep into the abyss that’s known as human stupidity. We hear that, much like the universe, it’s thought to be infinite.

The subreddit is fairly fresh. r/TerminallyStupid was founded in late February of 2019 and will be celebrating its third birthday in less than two months.
If you’re planning on becoming a member of the community, then you should keep the rules the moderators set out in mind. First things first, the content that you post has to match the spirit and direction of the subreddit itself. “Any post that does not have some terminally stupid person in them will be removed. This does not include posts about the subreddit itself,” the moderators explain that things have to be relevant.

Meanwhile, even though at the core of the subreddit lies the desire to poke fun at people who do really dumb stuff, the moderators still care about those people’s privacy. On that note, all names have to be blurred or scratched out so that they’re not readable. The same thing applies to license plates.
The only exceptions are public figures and famous people who we, obviously, know and can comment on their behavior openly as much as we like. However, this doesn’t mean that the focus should be on politics. “Please, No politics. This subreddit is not going to devolve into a fight between the left and right. Users found to be in violation of this rule will be banned,” r/TerminallyStupid’s mods warn.

When something happens that contrasts with the image we’ve been projecting—when we say or do something that shows we actually aren’t as graceful or as smart as we’d like people to believe—we feel embarrassed," Vanessa explained to Bored Panda what happens when our perception of how great we think we are doesn’t match reality.

Tell you the truth, it's not just Christians that have a monopoly on stupidity. I finally had to stop visiting some friends when they turned conspiracy theorists. In our case, it was government chemtrails being used to control the weather and indoctrinate our minds. They put up signs in their yard about it. Every airplane that flew over was spreading mind control chemicals. If you can parse it, they have valid concerns, but it was too paranoid. To this day, they still believe that this covid is a hoax that the illuminati have brought upon us. I miss them. They are nice people but they cracked under the strain.

Oml I just have to share this, this post reminded me of it. So I was out with friends and this kid was annoying us (he has broken people's phones and stolen people's stuff) and was following us. Then we were mucking about and he was trying to piss us off so he was like omg you guys are so gay. Most of us are part of the LGBTQ+ community so we were all like. Yes yes we are. Then we crushed up my pringles and turned it into 'gay confetti' and threw it at him. It was funny as hell then he was just like YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR HURTING ME. Keep in mind that 1. This kid is like 8 or 9 and 2. We threw pringles crumbs at him. And he asked us to at one point he was like throw them at me then. So he walked off in a huff and left us alone. Gay confetti ftw

If you stop and just talk to these people their logic just fall apart. Why would the government have any interest in making people gay? No seriously, because in the end everything boils down to economics. So why would the government spend a considerable amount of money investing in what can only be described as a pretty advanced (and probably magical might I add) chemical that turns people gay and dump it in the water? I am pretty sure gay people don't pay more taxes than straight people, or spend more money to move the economy. So why?!

This is so upsetting. I can’t believe that someone actually thinks that’s true and that others believe them. It’s mind blowing to me. Also, if someone isn’t forcing you as a man to leave your wife and be gay w a man but you want to be with your wife, then I get this but I have never heard of that scenario. People don’t just go around separating straights and saying you’re now going to be gay. If someone made me be with someone I didn’t want to id be pissed. I imagine that’s how all the gays feel on the regular as their parents try to force the opposite gender on them and they say not my child. He or she isn’t gay.

I'm not convinced this is true. There has been an urban legend around since the '90s about a cleaner at a hospital unplugging the life support to plug in the floor polisher. The story supposedly took place at a hospital in South Africa, but follow-ups showed it never happened. Then a few years later I saw the same story on the news (here in South Africa) about it happening it Zimbabwe. It never happened!

Some people really just haven't heard the life lessons the rest of us have. Case in point a flatmate at my first flat, whom I found trying to pry her stuck toast out of the toaster with a solid metal butter knife. Honestly it was so on the nose I thought she was pranking me for a split second then I saw the toaster elements were on 🤦♀️ she was ok, I screamed and thankfully she jumped but dropped the knife (I didn't scream on purpose)

And yet every single freaking time something gets stuck in the toaster, I grab a fork or knife and get about an inch away from sticking it in there before I suddenly remember and stop myself. All of us are complete effin' idiots sometimes.

i always laugh at these, but i've had my moments as well: I've picked up a curling rod by the hot part, thought Vermont wasn't a real state and was made up for the movie White Christmas until I was there (13 years old), got onto the neighbor's roof and sat on the glass skylight with a crack in it (thankfully I didn't fall through), and thrown a glass Christmas ornament to someone who was not actually there (it was me, in a mirror. i threw a glass ornament to my own reflection. needless to say the ornament did not make it.)

i always laugh at these, but i've had my moments as well: I've picked up a curling rod by the hot part, thought Vermont wasn't a real state and was made up for the movie White Christmas until I was there (13 years old), got onto the neighbor's roof and sat on the glass skylight with a crack in it (thankfully I didn't fall through), and thrown a glass Christmas ornament to someone who was not actually there (it was me, in a mirror. i threw a glass ornament to my own reflection. needless to say the ornament did not make it.)

Had a patient before, she is on her 30's. She told me that she is tired of coughing and don't like the taste of the phlegm. I told her to cough it out and spit it and she said that the previous nurse never told her that.

So these customers intend to spend thousands on a new car (which probably took years to save, or will take years to pay back the loan), and you think it's stupid of them to shop around and take their time to consider their expensive purchase? You are, essentially, saying that impulse-buying would be the smarter move.
