Portuguese Street Artist Paints 3D Creature Graffiti And It’s Not For The Faint Of Heart (39 Pics)
Talk about graffiti artists today, and you'll find they have shed some of the street arts old stigmas. The once-rogue street art genre has been welcomed into the traditional art world, and when you look at the fantastic 3D street art of Sergio Odeith, it's easy to see why.
The Portuguese artist started creating realistic art in the '90s when it was first gaining prominence in the country. He started with simple sketches on street walls and train tracks but then advanced into large-scale 3D drawings. Odeith continued to evolve and adopted the obscure signature style, which he refers to as "sombre 3D." This technique combines angles, lines, and shadows to create an extraordinary 3D art effect. In 2005 he gained international recognition for his anamorphic art series and realistic drawings, which looked like something out of a science horror fiction flick, with giant spiders appearing to climb off the walls at helpless passers-by.
Not surprisingly, the Lisbon-based muralist has since been asked to design pieces across the pond in the U.S cities of Baton Rouge, L.A, Charleston and Lexington and has even received business contracts with major corporations like Coca-Cola, Samsung, and Shell.

You know how to tell if it's an alligator or a crocodile? It all depends on when you will see them next (later or after a while)
Hey! Wait!! We just learned about this one here on BP! The spider killing wasp with the cool body architecture! Nice!!
It's amazing to be able to create this art. I've never been able to figure out how it's done.
It's so cool that he painted that chain just for the photo. Once he leaves it'll just be hanging like that... unless the man is painted as well.
The one on top of the cube makes me think of something from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat. Overall, pretty freaky but cool too.
The way the "shadow" is incorporated over the litter is just truly fantastic!
Imagine being drunk or sleep deprived (or both if you will) and stumbling across one of them late at night.
Or sober, wide awake in the middle of the day...I think my reaction would b the same, I'd die...loll
Load More Replies...This guy is amazing! Even though most of them were gross bugs, I loved looking at them!
I find it amazing that certain people not only have the ability to SEE this possibility, but also to create it! Their brains must work differently than the average person!
So amazing. Its sad because I feel like this artist should be mentioned,ya know? Very talented, the Art is very realistic.Who agrees?
I think every building should have graffiti art on it! (as long as it is as amazing or almost as amazing as the ones in this post!) The downtown area in my city has a few commissioned murals that look nice. Sort of boring but way nicer than just the plain old buildings without murals. If it posted, the picture I added is the largest of the murals we have..you can see it from so far away. Its lovely. shreveport...e37a7d.jpg
There is tagging and there is graffiti....and then there is art. This is art...
Not only is the guy talented, but he also has a great sense of vision! I wouldn't ever be able to imagine a 3D painting like those! Really impressive!
Wow- some of those will give people heart attacks. But imagine him doing tattoos- would def want one ;)
Such admirable skill, talent and imagination! Thank you for sharing these with us!
