With more than 8 million species of living things on Earth, it is no wonder that nobody knows or has seen them all. And if you wanted to look at 8 million pictures of all the cool animals roaming the Earth, it would take around eight years to spend 30 seconds for each photo and do it non-stop, without any breaks for eating or sleeping.

And with scientists discovering new rare animal species almost every day, this operation sounds quite unrealistic. That’s why we’ve chosen the most curious and weirdest animals, so you won't have to spend a decade checking them out yourself.

We’ve included land and sea animals, mammals and reptiles, and even bugs, so you’d see many unique animals. A mammal that looks like a crossbreed between a zebra, a giraffe, and a moose? Sure, that’s an okapi! A fish that takes the shape of a blob?

Of course, it even has a very appropriate name - blobfish! A weird-looking animal called a thorny devil? Why, yes! After seeing these unusual animals, you’ll be amazed that these sometimes very unsightly beings inhabit the same planet as us!

I was raised in Louisiana where everyone hunts, but my dad who is a huge animal lover always taught me to never, ever hunt just for sport. If we hunt and kill an animal, then we will eat it. After all, God says to do so in the Bible, but we are also to take care of them so no torture (make death quick and as painless as able) and no killing for human amusement. That's how I was raised. Everyone is different though so I respect your outlook on it also.

That info is kind of wrong. What they eat is coral. Also, what they excrete after eating coral, is very fine sand! These fish are the reason that those beaches have that wonderful soft sand! 80% of it is parrot fish poop! That is a FACT! (ONE FISH produces 840 pounds of it annually!)

Sounds strange but when you approach the Shoebill wait a moment for it to see you and then bow low.. this let's the Shoebill know respect is there. Often the Shoebill will also bow and shake it's head. This is when you may approach from the side and touch its feathers, gently. Where possible keep children away from the Shoebill. They are incredibly tall and their beaks are solid. They have quite a varied diet. With fish, frogs etc.

Hey God loves you! We have all sinned against God, but God in His love made a way for us to escape His wrath on our sin and that is through Jesus Christ. He came in the Flesh born of a Virgin, lived a perfect life, being tempted In every way as we are but never sinned, then willingly was beaten and crucified at the hands of ungodly men for the punishment for our sin so that we could by His blood be forgiven and He rose again 3 days later to justify those who put there trust in Him and He is now sitting at the right hand of God as our High Priest and He is coming back soon! I encourage you if you dont know Him to repent (change the way you think) and put your faith in Jesus. It's by His grace, through faith in His name that we are saved! His Holy Spirit will come and make His home in you and give you a new heart and rebirth your spirit. Look to Jesus!

Thanks to its unusual set of physical traits it thrives in a harsh underground environment and is the only mammalian thermoconformer, almost entirely ectothermic (cold-blooded) in how it regulates body temperature. The naked-mole rat lacks pain sensitivity in its skin, and has very low metabolic and respiratory rates.

"They concentrate and drink dew. Not only does their spiny armor protect them from predators, it also helps them absorb water in their arid habitat. There are hygroscopic (moisture-attracting) grooves between their thorns. They obtain water from the dew that condenses on their bodies overnight, during rare rainfalls, or by brushing up against dew-coated grass. Any water that gets into the grooves between its thorns is drawn by capillary action to its mouth, allowing the thorny dragon to suck water from all over its body." https://www.wired.com/2014/09/the-creature-feature-10-fun-facts-about-the-thorny-devil/

Tiny Dynamine lizards aren't as simple minded as humans believe them to be. Most species recognize individual humans by sight, scent, and sound. They are aware enough of their own anatomy to be able to defend themselves, find mates, etc.
