Believe it or not, we can all fit into some kind of archetype. Whether you're a Mac DeMarco fan, with your vintage baseball cap and a thrifted combo of a Nike jacket and worn-out Vans, or a cookie-cutter Fox News host, r/starterpacks does a hilarious job of riffing on stereotypes in the best way possible.

With almost 5 million community members to this day, it's no surprise that this subreddit is so popular. After all, scrolling through the sea of starter packs and recognizing that it's a spot-on description of one of your K-Pop listening friends can be pretty funny. Now, if only could someone make a Bored Panda reader starter pack...

Only a few memes resonate with us quite like starter packs. These captivating visual collages, known for their witty amalgamation of objects, stereotypes, and clichés, have become a cultural mirror reflecting the quirks and idiosyncrasies of our times. The best part: no one is safe from their satirical scrutiny; from subcultures to societal archetypes, each starter pack is a work of art that encapsulates the essence of its subject matter.

While starter pack memes have gained immense popularity for their humorous and satirical take on various cultural groups, it is crucial to acknowledge the ethical concerns surrounding them. These memes often rely on stereotypes, which always is a slippery slope. For instance, r/starterpacks has taken steps to ban memes that perpetuate racial generalizations, recognizing the potential harm such content can cause.

Those stools are way too practical. And where are all the pipes and ducts? You need to cover the black ceiling in 5 feet of hanging ductwork! (I just realized how impossible to clean the spaces ABOVE the food are...)

No you didn't. I was there, and the TV/VCR cart didn't come until much later. You watched 16mm films shown on a projector. The calculators were there, but you weren't allowed to use them because the teacher's all proudly said you wouldn't be able to carry a calculator around with you as an adult.

Surely not the old TV, the overhead projector or the old calculators? Would be surprised if they still had the communal metal water fountain aswell, what with health and safety

1950's and 60's kid here, we had the drinking fountains and the pencil sharpeners. But we had mimeographs, blackboards with chalk, movie projectors, screens and canned film. Still remember the smell of ditto paper. The handheld calculator didn't arrive until I was in college.

Archaeologist here. Most of us work in offices like anyone else. Either writing desk based assessments, conducting research or managing data. You can't easily make a viable career as a field archaeologist (I.e. digging stuff up). Those managing digs are very much the minority in the profession and most of those doing the actual digging are fresh graduates or people with rich parents who can fund their lifestyle choice.
