Animals. They've been around for longer than us, and they'll probably be around long after we've gone. Why? Because animals know the secret of life. And what, I hear you ask, is that secret? It's happiness. Simple, unadulterated happiness. Take a look at these pictures that Bored Panda has compiled to see just what we mean. They aren't smiling because they have a lot of Facebook friends. Nor are they smiling because their favorite band won Eurovision. They're smiling because they love life. And if they don't put a smile on your face today then we really don't know what will!

I had a super rotten morning and this little guy made me cry weird melancholy tears. He's so joyful! Thank you for posting this picture. It brought a little sunshine into the hell that is my space.
This one has been my desktop pic for years now. People see it and will actually do double-takes. "Sickeningly cute" is the phrase I hear most often from people who see it.

Awww so cute. I don't know how anyone can eat the flesh of these darlings. As intelligent as 3 year old children too. Gorgeous animals
Pretty sure this is a 'duprasi', or fat-tailed gerbil, from the Sahara Desert. Used to have them as pets. They are the sweetest, friendliest little animal in the world.
This photo definitely gets my seal of approval!!! Arff arff.xxx
He looks like he just heard a really funny joke. It's so cute!!!!!
"Wanna play fetch?" -owner "YESHHHH, but first ... lets take a selfie" - dog
Mit Lachen verschwindet der Schmerz nicht aber er ist leichter zu ertragen
In the bird world, the males have the colorful plumage.

I know the species. I had one. They look like this, naturally, all the time. Not a genuine smile, but not shopped.

There's something wrong with these teeth. So someone photoshopped to make this smile . . .
Those aren't teeth. They are a ridge of scales on his body behind his head.

Oh! They're all so adorable!...and this is my cute baby, Red. Smiling while winking ha ha ha red-57482b...949dda.jpg
In many of these pics, the animals weren't "smiling". It was just their natural face that people have interpreted as a smile. Us humans have a tendency to anthropomorphize animals.
True, but it's been proven that canines do really smile.
