After our previous trips around Europe and to the Caucasus, we decided to try something else, so we traveled to Mongolia, on a four-month, 26.000kms trip in our sidecar motorcycle, through 12 countries.

You can see our route in the picture below.

@Mama Panda : andrew kurkovsky made it into a pun and i thought it was funny and quite clever, and i upvoted it before posting my initial comment. correcting the spelling is ok, when it's done nicely, and when they also show appreciation for the rest. otherwise it's called mockery at best. i'm not a native speaker and as such i know it can be intimidating to post in a foreign language, so i guess i was being overly protective. i wasn't expecting to be stepping on so many toes though, i'm finding this quite interesting ! i think it's more of a general missunderstanding but everyone (perhaps including me) is being very aggressive. that's sad. let's make war or something... @Just a Purpler : how can you tell whether it was a problem or not ?

I'm with Priscilla. It's looks amazing, but I'm from Canada where a fam did a very similar thing. They kidnaped/ransomed. Lived 6 yrs in captivity where the mother and children suffered unimaginable indignities. It's got NOTHING to do w/fast food, or sheltered North American existences and EVERYTHING to do with world issues and the current state of political affairs in these countries. Are some great photos /memories worth the risk? Not to me, not for my daughter. There r places to go where pretty similar memories can be made without these dangers. Some would argue its brave and cultured. Others will say it's unnecessary risk, esp for the mother and 6 y/o girl in some of these parts unfortunately

Too much "local culture." I don't know what nationality this person is, but I wouldn't cycle blithely around that area of the world... especially not with a 6-year-old girl.

I've been through landscapes like this, in New Zealand. No contest, though. This place is wilder, more striking.
