50 Delusional Notes That Bosses Actually Had The Nerve To Display At Work (New Pics)
The difference between a wholesomely supportive and genuinely toxic job environment is the people you work with. Your coworkers, managers, and bosses from all the way up the corporate ladder have the power to either inspire you to aim for new heights or to regret every moment you spend with them.
A major thing that gets employees’ blood boiling is seeing passive-aggressive signs put up all over the office, full of worker-unfriendly regulations, practically dripping with managerial arrogance and disdain for ‘regular’ workers. (A close second, if you’re curious, is people who microwave fish at work. Don’t do that.)
Our team here at Bored Panda dove deep into the r/antiwork archives to collect the very worst office and work signs that people have ever spotted. Including some really weird looking-for-work ads. Seriously, these are all an affront to dignity and perfectly illustrate what some higher-ups think of the people they pay.
Like, who reminds you that your dog is missing you because you can't work remotely and have to go into the office?! That's just inhumane (incanine?).
Scroll down for some horrendous pics that you’ll probably want to share with your coworkers at the water cooler. Have you seen any similar signs at work? Have you personally read anything worse? Do you want to vent about your manager for no reason? Drop by the comment section and share your thoughts with us and all the other Pandas.

The Trashy Manager
Without proof, it is unlikely. Sad, but how will justice pass the he said / she said barrier?
Load More Replies...Back in '08 a lot of the women I worked with asked me to walk them to their cars. I thought it was because they were afraid of getting mugged. Turns out they were afraid of the Bar Manager. He's doing OK BTW, runs his own bar plus a side business. Why do the worst people always get ahead in life.
This is why I don't believe in karma. Too many horrible people gettingbaway with what they do and living the good life.

Got so confused, thought it was the manager holding up that sign 💀 was wondering why everyone was telling him good job for assaulting a woman
Report them to corporate and find a good lawyer. You can sue them for wrongful termination. I can guarantee that Carl's Jr will not like the negative publicity.
Bored Panda had a chat about managerial 'tyrants,' nonsensical rules, and passive-aggressive communication with employees with workplace expert Lynn Taylor, who was kind enough to share her perspective and answer our questions. Lynn is the author of the bestseller 'Tame Your Terrible Office Tyrant: How to Manage Childish Boss Behavior and Thrive in Your Job,' the head of the fashion brand 'Behind the Buckle,' and also runs a popular blog on Psychology Today.
"The proverbial power play at work can be maddening, especially when Draconian managers are in their element. These tyrant bosses can be downright insulting in their regular communications. And expert bullies can create rules and regulations that make you feel like you’re in 3rd grade; the recipient of a final parental warning; or reside in a bizarre prison. Heavy-handed signage, notes, and email reminders can run amok, making an otherwise decent job quite demoralizing," she told Bored Panda.
My Job Threatened To Withhold My Paycheck To Ensure No One Left Early; I Responded Accordingly
Here in Sweden, failure to pay the employees is seen as an evidence that the employer is insolvent, and therefore the courts will grant an application of bankruptcy if said employees seek it.
My son reported a boss to the Wage & Hour board. Spooked the c**p out of the guy. They don't fool around.
Wonderful response. I fail to understand why there aren't more unions, and why management is so opposed to them, although contracts (and laws) make quick work of bosses like this. I've always said, bad bosses are the unions best recruiters.
Yeah that manager is stupid, you can discipline the people who are clocking out early but you can't take their wages.
I would send the copy of the manager's note to corporate! See who won't be get any paycheck any more!
Pay Our Teachers More!
After education is destroyed by people who think teaching is easy, this is what it will cost to bring professionals back into the classroom. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (Getting downvotes -- but they won't say why teachers shouldn't be paid more.)
I feel like the USA is especially hard on teachers. They get paid starvation wages to do one of the hardest jobs in the world.
Ours is the only job that you pay to learn to do it, you have an unpaid internship to determine if you are fit, while still paying for the "course", then you find a job and none of them pay enough to pay off loans, you must renew your license every few years, and you are observed to see if you are fit almost continuously. And people wonder why teachers are in short supply.
$10/hr for a babysitter? That seems super low. This is just from a random Google search, but it looks like babysitters (In America) are paid anywhere from $13-18.40/hr, which would be a salary of $425,880-602,784. Source: https://www.parents.com/parenting/money/hourly-babysitting-rate-states/
i work for my brother’s girlfriends mom. she works at a fall festival thing, where she does face painting. she used to be a high school art teacher. she told me the other day that she gets paid more in her one month at the festival painting faces than a full year teaching. wtf.
The US needs to take a few billion from the $7 billion military budget and put it into teachers pay and better schools.
If we pay teachers more that will lead to an educated populace, which will in turn lead to intelligent voters, and politicians do not want THAT!
Bright And Bold In Midtown Manhattan
There should be a law stating you must clearly reveal rate of pay from the very beginning.
Why is there an unwritten rule that you can't discuss wages with co-workers?
Load More Replies...This is so odd. Maybe 95% of the time in the U.K., the yearly wages are always advertised with the job role. It doesn't get discussed in the interview because it's already know by the interviewee. They can ask to reiterate if wished and the interviewer will say it quite frankly, without issue. Even so, with maybe much higher paid salaries where negotiation takes place or headhunting, the wage is clearly discussed upfront, no issue. I have no idea why this is even a thing in the US? Why would anyone go to an interview and not know or never know until the last minute what the salary is? Is there a secret rule that these new employees abide by? Do they sneakily entrap you with promising perks and words?, which makes you sign something and they say 'gotcha! your salary is HALF what you earn now, but we have you Mwhaaamwhahaha!'
It is hard to think of any other reason for it.

I had someone once ask what my salary was. I responded that i would need to know the whole package ( no paid holidays and 5 days for sick and vacation versus 10 days oaid holiday, 3 weeks sick/ vacay is huge difference ). They pushed. I blew up and said " i am not bidding on a job. You have a budget. Tell me that or stop wasting my time"
At least give me a range, even if it's a broad range, tell me SOMETHING, will I be making $15 an hour or $50 an hour, anything please! And they should have to post the zip code the office is located in. I'm in Texas and the number of jobs listed in "The DFW Metroplex" is infuriating. That's an 11-county area!!!!!! It tells me nothing about where the job is located!
One of the main reasons it's not posted is so competitors don't all know what the other is paying in salaries. Salaries are one of the few operating costs pretty much directly under the control of the company or store or wherever. It's not necessarily very valid, but companies are always trying to keep things to themselves.
Because it opens opportunities to competitors. Dont downvote, because I was simply stating why.
Sat through 5 two hour pre hire interviews. Finally got to the final interview. The entire process they wouldn't tell me the wage or hours. Found out it was only 24 hours a week at $12.00/hour. I was currently working 45 hours a week. The manager got pissed when I said no. Told me I wasted their time. THEIR time!? What about mine? I worked 10 hour days then went and sat for their 2 hour preview interviews.

This sounds illegal. Contact your union, a lawyer, legal aid, coworkers, BBB, and/or local news including the newspaper covering your area.
This from the NLRB (USA): Under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA or the Act), employees have the right to communicate with other employees at their workplace about their wages. Wages are a vital term and condition of employment, and discussions of wages are often preliminary to organizing or other actions for mutual aid or protection.
True. This all day. Everyone that is commenting that this should be illegal, IT IS! Don't trust your employer to tell you what is and is not legal.
Load More Replies...What country was this? In the USA, it is illegal for employers to tell their employees to not discuss their pay.
Yeah, we know it's illegal but they tell you not to discuss pay and if they catch you discussing it, there is retaliation in the form of bad reviews for poor work etc. They then deny that it is retaliation and give bs reasons.
I cannot believe that the USA, home of the free is trying to introduce slavery by stealth.
That is totally illegal! You are DEFINITELY allowed to talk about your pay in the US. In fact, if the boss/company fires you, writes you up or in any way threatens you because of it, you can SUE them and YOU WILL WIN!
Yes I have seen this at my McDonald's and if the head person heard you talking you would get fired. And yes they hid all kinds of shady s**t.
I am quite sure that all that you can do is to say, "we encourage employess not to discuss their salleries" you cannot forbid them to do so.
Every place I've worked says do not discuss. Yes, some are hiding c**p but it's mostly because many people don't understand pay is also based on knowledge, position and term to name a few. I've seen it first hand. Someone new comes in and finds out what another is making and gets all bent. They can't comprehend the other person has decades of experience compared to their almost complete lack of it and the other person had been there for 3 years.
Workplace expert Lynn shared the steps that you can take as an employee in these situations with Bored Panda:
- "First, make sure you’re seeing a pattern before taking action. Typically, the real offenders have bad office habits that are hard to break. The techniques worked in the past, so they continue, and you’ll see more than one instance. If the signage becomes repeated and overbearing, it’s not your imagination.
- Depending on the relationship you have with your boss, and if the behavior is more episodic, you may be able to approach them, using reason. For example, you might suggest an internal memo that addresses the issue and explains the importance of doing X, with a team-oriented approach. It might read something like, 'I know we’re all working hard to meet our 4th Quarter project deadlines; thank you for the extra effort,' versus signage that, in effect, says, 'Get here on time, or else!'
- If the one-on-one approach won’t work or fails, there’s always power in numbers. Discreetly speak to your fellow beleaguered office mates, and see if the demoralizing signage is making everyone want to crawl under their desks in exasperation. If so, your group can propose a civil productive discussion, starting with the manager. If that doesn’t work, there’s the boss’s boss, and after that, Human Resources.
- Remember the end goal; to change the dialogue and make it more positive. Remind your boss of the end goal, too. Subtly let it be known that the oppressive approach may backfire, the stakes, and what will have the best outcome. If the notes are redundant, petty, or nonsensical, use your best emotional intelligence and be the voice of reason.
- Don’t fight fire with fire. If you’re the lucky recipient of an insulting email or note, don’t play the game. If you witness a passive-aggressive piece of communication, don’t try and think of a super clever retort. Just ask for clarification, e.g., 'Just so I understand, are you saying you want a more detailed report?' You want this to be a win-win (and keep your job, if it’s worth keeping!).
- If the language in company signs and communications is intimidating as opposed to merely disheartening, and the situation is untenable, it is likely time to visit your favorite job board."
I’m Probably Going To Be Fired For This… But I Don’t Care
That's called "wage theft." Can you say class action law suit? Many lawyers won't charge you upfront, instead taking a percentage of the settlement.
Life in the USA - if employers aren't treating you like slaves, the lawyers will steal from you what you were owed, plus costs. Still loving living in France where restaurant servers work for a living wage and no one expects to be tipped (unless they've fallen asleep on the job then please, tip the waitstaff ).

I had a boss that always took a chunk of each waiters tips "for the kitchen staff". One dinner the other waitress didn't show up, so it was all me. The boss helped me with take out orders, nothing else. Then took the same amount as if the other girl had been there. Turns out that the kitchen never saw any of the tip money. He kept it.

Load More Replies...Why is that sign here? That is pretty much how things works in the rest of the civilised world. It is not delusional it is just plain common sense that you pay your staff for the work they do, so they won't have to rely on charities from customers that either pay them out of guilt, or choose not to pay them due to some kind of powertrip or unreasonable reasoning.
Ah yes, but in order for things to change, things have to change. Why are you dumping on someone resetting the expectations?
Load More Replies...Tipping is meant for exceptional service and never should have been an expected extra
In the USA it's not even an expected extra, it's an expected base.
Load More Replies...This is fantastic, and the more US employers do this, the better. People being able to go to work knowing how much they will bring home at the end of the day is a great policy. And as long as the rest of the benefits match up, the company also benefits because if/when someone leaves, they will have their choice of a VERY long list of employees to chose from as replacements. And hence - they get what they pay for. People who work there want to work there, will keep turning up for well-paid shifts, and will always have a drive to do right by the customer. Smart company.
Surprisingly, there are people who actually prefer to work tip-wage. All three of my restaurants are salary based. Starting salary is $19 per/hour. We’ve had a handful of applicants turn an offer down because they thought they can make more with tips. I was genuinely shocked the first time it happened.
Load More Replies...Brilliant! 1) Most customers will see that the *total* bill is about the same. 2) Better wages will mean better employees providing better service.

I can only hope an employment attorney came in for a sandwich and left with a client.
This is my life these days. We are running crazy thin these days. I'm not even management. I just need the money. Jobs a lot easier with three people and not one or two.
i feel bad for him. but also.. it's funny he/she ran out of room at the end of the note
I know of people who have applied for these service jobs and the restaurant never fills them. I have to wonder if the shops are making excuses so they can run a bare crew to save money.
This is why I don't go to subway. Last time: one person and not a single loaf of bread. Prior shift left it that way. This was 6 years ago . Still sounds like a bad place to work
According to workplace expert Lynn, rather than always relying on signage or written communications to deal with sensitive topics, managers ought to have a regular forum where they can raise important issues.
"The item can be on the agenda, whether it pertains to new employee manual practices, office rules, personal time, etc. It might be a monthly staff meeting in person or Zoom call. The topics can be discussed at a regular meeting, but there’s nothing wrong with having a meeting to discuss administrative issues; get employee feedback; answer questions; and provide leave-behind materials," she told Bored Panda.
"One of the best things you can do is take excerpts from the company manual and ask the team to comply. That way, no one feels personally attacked. Consider the operative word, 'ask' for compliance; never threaten," the author of 'Tame Your Terrible Office Tyrant' explained how managers might want to maintain discipline among their staff.

When I visited the Lake District a few years ago, a lot of the houses on sale were only available to people who could prove that had been living in the area for at least 4 years.
That's going to be an entertainment if I were to choose to retire up there then, having actually been born there! I just so happen to have lived away for my working life. I understand the reasoning, but the main issue is with people buying second and third homes, which has caused a shortage of affordable homes in the area.
Load More Replies...I admire Denmark for the way they protect their land and their traditions. Noonw can buy a summerhouse unless they have lived in Denmark for fove years an speak Danish. Not even Danes can own more than two summerhouses. This way, they protected their coasts and their way of life and culture from international investment locusts that swarm the world ot find more even more land and property to sell.
... graffitty'ing off the value of property some greedy investors bought is a great idea. Although not even close to being allowed, this cannot be a point anymore in the state we're in, as the mere source of the problem is what is allowed and what isn't in the first place.
Thought that was an odd choice as a canvas when complaining about stagnant house prices which is now happening after certain states had people selling there homes for 100 k more than it's worth due to home shortage...then the market flooded, the feds raised percentages and here we are. Home prices are crashing. A home 2 houses away from me sold for a ridiculous amount over its worth and my effing property taxes went up 50% during that time due to the prices of homes in my area being sold at such high profits for the last few years. I had random realtors texting me every damn week asking if I wanted to sell..I didn't because I enjoy my home and plan on an addition at some point but after a while it got out of hand.

This is a huge issue in Florida. I live in an RV park and more than half the permanent spots r owned by snow birds who r only here a few months a yr. But the local Facebook pages r full of people desperate for places to live.

Same problem in Arizona. My husband and I have recently started buying houses in cash and turning them into affordable rental properties. Without a mortgage, we can charge well below market value. The average price in our area for a 3 bed/2 bath house is $430k putting the mortgage around $3k a month. We would charge $1900.
"The emphasis is on 'team' because you’re only as good as your staff. Condescending notifications often backfire, but finding the positive angle that will appeal to the team is far more productive. Give your staff the benefit of the doubt; be encouraging; use emotional intelligence; and treat your staff like the adults they are. Remember the value of positive reinforcement; when employees get what you’re asking for and deliver, let them know you’re appreciative. Just be careful you don’t patronize when employees perform the task at hand privately or publicly," she said.
Meanwhile, if there are only a few employees who are consistently breaking the rules or not complying with business practices, it's best for managers not to make the entire team feel responsible. "It’s better to have private conversations with the individual employee(s) than to bring the whole team down," Lynn said.
"Finally, your employees are the best source of information that will support productivity. Consider soliciting ideas from your team on how to boost morale. If you must post signage, consider a contest on the most creative way to communicate the request. When your team is invested in an outcome, the results are almost always more favorable. The labor market is still strong, so it behooves managers to humanize their work environment, committing to motivational and retention practices."

I don't think that that sign was written by a rude boss. I think it was a note that his employees left to the customers to help them understand why the shop was closed, and that it also served as a passive agressive message to a delutional manager, who had little clue on how vulnarable his business was and therefore how much he should do to satisfy his employees basic needs.
Don't think it's the store managers issue either. If you are unaware of Hot Topic, it's a store in just about every US shopping mall.

Load More Replies...What is a reasonable “living wage”? Truly am interested in answers.
One that pays the bills of housing, groceries medical needs, clothing and at least minimal luxuries like eating out once in a while or having a vacation at least once a year as everyone deserves who works a full time job. Being able to just buy neccessities is the absolute minimum people have to be able to afford or they should not work at all. At the moment, people treat others who work a full-time job worse than prisoners! How can that be ok? Prisoners in the USA have sometimes better living conditions than a citizen who's working! They get housing, education, food, clothing, health care. They even have free time and access to exercise. A living wage is an amount that at least allows a citizen to enjoy everything a prisoner gets without the limitations because they're contributing to society and their wages and what they buy for it are what keeps the whole economy afloat.

I would say a wage slave. Someone who’s first job isn’t paying a livable income which forces that person to acquire a second job to make ends meet and thus keeping that person too busy to be able to do basic house chores like grocery shopping. This person is also called a “hustler”. Where it misses the mark is in thinking someone who is struggling to pay bills and forced to work more then one job to do so can somehow also afford this service.
Load More Replies...Uh, no. They are advertising a service they offer to OTHER company's employees.
I believe this is an ad for a grocery service, aimed at those that don't have time to buy their own groceries.
Since that sign appears to be in a subway car, it is an ad for a grocery delivery company.
That’s just the attitude ruining marriages, families, and most relationships these days.
There’s a delicate balance that needs to be maintained at work. On one side of the scale, you’ve got things like company morale, how inspired, creative, and motivated your employees feel, how much they trust their bosses, and how satisfied they are with their jobs and the opportunities that they’re offered. You want to know that your hard work pays off... though sometimes it totally doesn't.
On the other side of the scale are things like company profits, maintaining protocols and regulations, having a general sense of order and discipline, and keeping potentially reckless or unmotivated workers’ actions in line with the overall interests of each department.
In short, there’s no excuse for being toxic or rude as a boss; however, it doesn’t mean that every single employee is somehow above criticism. It’s human to err. And last we checked, our AI Overlords haven’t replaced any of the staff with androids (...yet).

There’s usually a deeper story behind each passive-aggressive office sign. Perhaps a manager feels underappreciated or believes that their workers are slacking off. Maybe they have a very different work ethic that’s completely at odds with the values held by younger generations. Or they had a really bad day and lashed out in an emotionally immature way.
Remember, just because someone has a fancy job title doesn't mean that they're actually a better person and more capable leader than you. You can be a leader no matter where in the corporate chain you fall.
That’s what happens when you have extremely poor communication within an organization. Managers and ‘regular’ employees need to know each others’ expectations and to enforce healthy boundaries. It all comes down to showing respect for everyone’s time, energy, and dignity, as well as looking for compromises. Looks like the word "don't" may have been erased. Otherwise the spacing is abnormal.... Think this one was a joke.
I believe it was meant as a joke. I have seen it before, there is usually a "not" between the you and normal, and given the space, I think there was but someone erased it.
It would certainly help if these assholes used punctuation properly... or at all. Is that normal? Not using English correctly when speaking to the general public, so everyone can at least work from the same base?

It's not. And, seriously, if nobody has anything to hide, there is no problem in talking about your wages. I like how they put the word PAY in quotation marks, like it's not a real pay...
Look, at the end of the day, we’re all responsible for our own happiness, work/life balance, priorities, and what kind of behavior we’re willing to tolerate. Now, that’s no excuse for others acting like jerks and bullying you day-in, day-out. However, it does mean that we have to be proactive in sorting out the problems that drag us down at work.
That might mean different things for different people. Does your coworker keep microwaving fish and stinking up your office 24/7? Sit them down for a quick friendly chat and ask them to stop instead of putting up passive-aggressive sticky notes all over the kitchen.
Does your boss give you more and more work because you finish your tasks quicker than others? Have a discussion about a possible promotion because of your excellent results. Explain to them that there should be incentives in place to work faster instead of hard work being punished. Remind them how much you bring to the company at least a couple of times a year.
Is your boss 'quiet firing' you by subtly letting you know that you have absolutely no future career path at the company? You need to diplomatically confront them about being sidelined, hopefully, with HR acting as a witness. Odds are that your boss is extremely frightened of any and all confrontation and is taking the easiest way out by forcing you to leave on your own.

My roommate works as a butcher at a very boughy grocery store. They aren't allowed to take any food home. They throw everything out if it isn't purchased.
Load More Replies...That was the unwritten rule in France when I was a student. "Too much steeling", the company said (ruining food purposedly to take it home). We couldn't even give it to the homeless. Awful company. Our manager used to give us a pause right after closing to public and before cleaning. Eat all you can. Many times he used a clean trashbag for leftovers so that homeless people could access edible food. Now fortunately there's a law againt food waste.
He was a good man. He thought about what he was doing. Food waste is something we should try to stop. It not gonna hurt anyone to give to someone who needs it if your just gonna throw away. It don't make any sense. But as if they can't make money off it no one can have it. Sad
Load More Replies...I think they mean food paid for, but not picked up. All that seems wasteful. I guess it just goes in the dumpster.
Load More Replies...They may mean food customers paid for, but left behind or never picked up.
Load More Replies...Actually, this is pretty common. Sadly, there is that one guy that thinks they can game the system, make a bunch of extra food at the end of the day/shift, and pull the "I guess I'll just take this so it doesn't go to waste" gag. It's a form of theft, and it can cost a company significant amounts of money over time. This is probably a reaction to this kind of d-baggery.
Even if that person does that, is it really that significant of a loss if you are throwing out much more than that food at the end of the day? If you literally can't afford to live on your wages, why wouldn't you do this to a huge company?

Load More Replies...$18 is what they say it comes out to when THEY add in what they consider benefits - IF you qualify for full time status - which NO ONE WILL. They pay JUST above minimum wage then work you right up to but not at full time - just to screw you over
When I quit my job, in the early days of COVID, I was only making $18.50. I was there for TWELVE YEARS. I helped build the kitchen.
$18 is a joke. The bare minimum wage to pay bills and have any quality of life in America would be $25-30 an hour. You'll never buy a house, but you can maybe take a vacation once a year.
When I started working, the minimum wage was $1.25. In those days $1.25 would buy you 5 gallons of gasoline. Today those five gallons would cost over $20. So, yes, $18 an hour is a step backwards.

Load More Replies...The catch is at those pay rates, employers are going to be more picky about who they hire. The lazy types that were tolerated before are out of the running. They'll hire management grade people for every aspect that way they get workers that do the work of 2 or 3 regular workers. I told people I worked with in 2010 that the full time job would soon be gone except for certain positions and any real benefits would be gone as well. Part time workers are cheaper on many levels and companies would learn that the savings outweigh the loss of sales. I give you todays job market. As for all these hiring bonuses that began showing up after COVID. Try staying long enough to get it. Some places lay you off on day 87 so they can avoid the 90 day bonus. The big kicker, Fast food workers started the drive for $15/hr wages without realizing that at that rate it's cheaper to automate. They've talked themselves out of a job, perks and/or benefits in many cases.
Obviously, if you’re harassed and feel unsafe at work, you need to get in touch with union representatives or seek legal help.
Meanwhile, if you feel burned out, chronically anxious, and depressed, it might do you well to speak about your issues openly with a close relative or a trusted friend. Seeking psychological help from a counselor can help solve some of these issues. Seeking help isn’t weakness. Taking active steps to solve deep-rooted issues, even if it’s going slowly, shows strength.

Polish for water is wodka. I would sign up. (On the other hand, all the fish die in the polish rivers, so it would really depend on the job how much risk I am willing to take and how much I need the wodka.)

You have to treat them well, compensate them well and be a good boss. If you have high turn over, you're the problem, not them."
While your statement is absolutely true, there are areas where people simply don't want to work. The government has taught them how to live off the taxpayers to a point that even $20 hour would be a step backwards. Even at less they'll lose their welfare, so, no, they don't want to work. I laugh at this because people will boycott a company over issues real or not yet America won't come together to get cheaper gas. We have to power to force it and it's so simple. Week 1, buy from whoever you want, just not Exxon/Mobile. Week 2 add the next big petro company to the list, week 3...week 4 etc. You can bet by then the rest will see what's coming and start lowering their prices. When the boycotted companies get down to a per gallon price with a realistic profit margin (lets say $1.25/gal) then everyone go to them and the rest will follow. They start going up again with their BS hurricane story etc, start the boycott again. You can bet prices will go back down overnight. Don't start in with the $100 a barrel media BS. That's the lie they want you to believe and if they are paying that then that's on them for being stupid. The middle east wants $100 for a barrel of oil then we want $100 for a head of lettuce. Ge the idea? There's more of us then there are of them.

Nurses doing this is what almost killed me. So what if I wasn't their patient, was finding my chart or finding someone else to help out so damn difficult that they let me sit there for an hour and a half in pure agony until I damn near stroked out? NO. I value and respect nurses, well almost everyone in the medical field really, but it's no more my fault that they are short staffed than it is theirs. It is not just their own day/life affected when they take this kind of approach, patients suffer. While my case was a bit more extreme, I have seen plenty of other instances where a couple minutes of their time, wouldn't kill them, but would help a patient...and all that patient gets is a "not my patient". Yeah, no, most things patients need or are asking for, aren't things that will lead to a bad outcome. I never had prom or any of those things and even in my mid 30s sometimes I'm sad when I see a movie with a prom and graduation and the reunions too, I don't get invited since I didn't graduate :( but we didn't lose our house, we had food to eat, and clothes to wear. I'd do it again if I woke up tomorrow and I was 14 again I definitely would stay at that job longer tho I left it for another one stupidly not realizing 10$/h for that warehouse job back in 02 was really good pay

Send the photo to the Fire Marshall with a CC to whoever the head of corporate safety is. Your manager might still fire you, but they’re gonna be right behind you out the door. You, in that case, will be eligible for unemployment & can bring a likely successful suit against them for retaliatory firing. Your manager will simply be without a job, and ineligible for unemployment as their firing was for just cause.
Sign Posted Above The Thermostat At Work
For reference, you start to see your breath at about 13°C. About 20°C is what's generally deemed "room temperature", and 18°C is the lowest one can reasonably go inside a building where people are working/studying- even that's not comfortable for most people. Below that, you risk respiratory disease or even hypothermia if exposure is prolonged, and you aren't doing vigorous physical exercise.
For those not familiar with conversions, 18°C is roughly 64°F and that is absolutely NOT cold, at all, and definitely not going to lead to respiratory disease or hypothermia. So many people would be sick, dying, or dead, just because of temps, if that were actually true-which doesn't happen. Yes having a cold(er) air source, hit a warm(er) air source with added humidity can lead to condensation/fog (aka, seeing your breath), but that doesn't indicate it's ACTUALLY cold out, lol. 55°F(roughly 13°C) isn't cold either and given the right conditions(dropping air temp, humidity 95% or above), you may see your breath at that temp. Odds are pretty good that you won't in most instances though, as conditions need to be optimal at that air temp and many areas of the world don't have the high humidity some do. My house is currently 62°F (roughly 17°C) and I am definitely not hypothermic or suffering respiratory issues (and since I have respiratory condition, I think I would know, lol)
Load More Replies...The "see your breath" part is ridiculous, but to be fair, it does make sense to wear warmer clothing at the office in the winter. My colleagues who don't wear a hoodie in the office in the winter always quarrel with the ones who get cold easily, ensuing in a battle over the AC.
It’s called sweater season for a reason. I’ll never understand why people run AC so high they need sweaters in summer, then run heat so hight they can stay in shorts and tank tops all winter.
It's a recipe to get sick too. The extreme temp changes between inside and outside stress your system. More stress, weaker immune system, more susceptible to getting sick
Load More Replies...To be fair this is a good policy given the cost of living crisis. But that’s for your home, not a business
The last one is silly, but the rest I understand. Don't wear shorts and a tank top to work when it's 50 degrees and then burn everyone who dressed appropriately alive.
I grew up without a furnace, we just had space heaters. This was basically my life with our only option to get closer to the heater. I'd hate to work in multiple hoodies, a scarf, and multiple pairs of socks. There was one school I worked in that turned the heat or AC off after lunch (except for the principal's office). Trying to check papers and teach in gloves while the kids are sitting in coats with red noses is worse than my parents' house. And yes, that principal got a bonus for lowering energy usage 🙄
Australian here: 20 years ago working retail, certain companies REFUSED to turn the aircon on in Summer, would schedule MINIMAL register operators- even at Christmas-, so they could give the ar$hole managers MORE hours…. 20 years later, these multi-BILLION dollar companies are still pulling the same sh!t!!
reminds me of a friend. When his daughter was in college, the house she and her friends lived in had a locked case over the thermostat (set low of course). One really cold spell her dad told her to get a motel room for her and her friends. She told him they were quite warm. They taped an ice pack over the thermostat. We did the same thing where I worked once/ They controlled the heat and air from some company hired by corporate. Placed a small box over thermostat in summer (thermostat generates a small amount of heat and with it trapped in a small space it makes the temp read high) then in the winter we'd place a small re-freezable ice pack in the box.

Good way to discriminate against people with medical conditions or low blood sugars. Also, i’m going to guess that the person who wrote this sign is exempt and can take as many unscheduled breaks to eat, drink, or doss, as they like
Yeah, I'm diabetic & this wouldn't work for me.
Load More Replies...This is also illegal as diabetics and people with hypoglycemia need to eat to keep their blood sugars normal.
You better be providing the proper amount and frequency of breaks… why do I get the sense they aren’t?
Everybody eat lunch, and turn each other in. If there are ten of you, each of you can get $180 apiece for turning the other nine in.
Load More Replies...Laid off means letting someone go because there isn't enough work for them to do. This is firing. Eat a cracker, take the unemployment and use that time to find a better work environment.
I'm going to assume this was posted in a place where there should not be food for various reasons and therefore they expect you to eat only when you're off the clock and in the proper place to eat. For example, I used to work for Hello Fresh in a warehouse that packaged the food for delivery, we were forbidden from eating anything while on the floor mostly for allergy reasons but also for sanitary reasons.
Labor laws state, for every 4 hours you work, you get a 15 minute break.
In the US, the Labor law clearly states that an employee must be given a minimum 10 minute break for every 4 hours of work and a break of at least 30 minutes after 6.5 Period. AND your employer cannot dictate what you can or cannot do during this time. They can have rules about eating at your desk or not smoking within 20 feet of the door, etc.
Desperate Sign At Papa John’s
Papa John himself has proven to be a thoroughly despicable person. So go f**k yourself, Papa John.
I worked there all through college because it was the only thing I could find with a flexible schedule. Some nights I got so few tips I ended up paying to work after putting gas in my car. A few years later I got a check in the mail for $500 from a class-action lawsuit because they hadn't been making up the difference for employees to at least be getting minimum wage. F**k Papa John's.
This is not a bad boss. This is just trying to let potential employees know that they can set their own hours. That's a good thing.
The owner of Papa John's is a big time Trump cultist. There is no amount of money I would take to help him make money.
I worked for them for years in Panama City Florida. Started as an insider at like 7.50 an hour and in three years time I was acting gm when ours was caught stealing since I was assistant store manager. I worked for a very small franchise but I did get raises yearely at minimum and when I went above and did the "masters" training I ended up with a three buck raise just from that which took a few weeks. I'm not saying it's the *best* place but I was a manager within the first year which was cool knowing they almost always promoted from within so someday you can be in the corporate if you want to... This was before the bad Hurricaine so cost of living was much lower I shared a two bedroom for all of 1k a month with a storage unit right by the college, I could walk less than five minutes and be at the bridge to the beach. I miss it like crazy living in DC again.
And again, capitalists that don't like how capitalism truly works. You get what you pay for. No pain no gain. It's 100% pure capitalism to expect a good outcome for high investment. Now, after hearing the capitalism-song from the companies, employees start billing and the companies don't like it. How dare you to present them a bill for what you've given them! How dare you to want to be paid for your time! Like a ... Like a... Like a true capitalist! Throw it in their faces: it's capitalism baby! You want me to work for you? Great! Pay me! You want me to go above and beyond? Great! Pay for it! You get what you give! That's the traditional value of capitalism and consumerism and YOU started the music, so now don't complain that we dance to it!
Again, poor little baby. No hint of self reflection as to why they don't have workers.
Pay better and treat your employees with dignity! Then maybe you won't be so desperate for staff. I I know the idea of treating people with dignity and respect is anathema to Papa John's.)
My Availability Has Always Been Strictly Mon-Fri. I Spoke To A Manager When I Saw This Sign And Was Told I Will Be Working That Day, Regardless Of My Availability. The Schedule Is Now Up And I Have Been Assigned A Full Shift That Saturday
Don't turn up. People train their employers to ask whatever they want, because they always say yes. Just have red lines, and say no without expanation.
This! If it is a question, or even a plea, the answer "No" should not only be expected, but accepted without further question. If they don't really ask anymore, but just use the structure of a question to disguise handing out draconically enforced orders, we need to detrain the askery out of them, because they'll likely hesitate more, and because whatever you hear, read and say yourself frames you - and the recipient of your talk - to a certain mindset, in this case the one of owing it, or the one of fearing to not follow. Damned, work is work, and unless work consists of cuddling with cats, my free time is what I work for, not the other way - if you ask me to work 8 hours on a Saturday, or even Sunday - even more so if not wfh - offer something that makes it acceptable. Like, double the hourly rate, or offer two days off for one workday off schedule ... I'm not really into bureaucracy, so any reasonable offer is taken into consideration.
Load More Replies...Not in my contract? Not working it! Some companies do have an audit clause in them but this expectation should be set at the start of the employment.

Don't go and dare them to fire you. What they are asking is illegal.
If it's not part of the original job description you agreed to, they can't make you do it. People have lives outside of work.
On the other hand, I've seen people with restricted schedules, okay, but then say they can't work the hours they said they could work when hired. Then get bent when they don't get many hours. You can't work days and you can't work the hours you said you could work, how can you gripe if you don't get hours? They're not going to pay you sit in an empty parking lot.
They hired you knowing your availability. They can say it's mandatory but if you have it on your application you can't work Saturdays, too bad for them. Report them to the labor board if you suffer consequences
Ask Every Customer To Sign Up For A Credit Card Or You Are Fired!
Being forced to upsell c**p nobody wants or needs is cruel. Just advertise it. Have a sign at the counter for your f*****g ripoff credit card. Your employees shouldn’t be forced to be a party to your scams.
They tried to push one on me. Almost 21% APR. I can’t imagine who thought people would go for that.
People who want to earn the Walgreens rewards? If you're able to use a credit card properly then the APR would be irrelevant.
Load More Replies...We had to upsell every papa John's phone order. People who knew what they wanted would get so frustrated and I'd flat out tell them I'm sorry sir/mam it's mandatory I ask you. And almost nobody was still mad after that bc they understood. I got caught saying it and I'd tell my bosses do you want me to calm them down and get the f*****g order or you want them to yell and hang up and call someone else?
Managers should know that whenever they have to use threats like this, it's a sign of incompetence or broken agreements. There's no "agreement" here. The employee is simply forced to comply. Customers HATE these pushes, employees know it, and they didn't sign up to invoke the scorn of customers simply trying to buy their medicine.
No, most customers mildly dislike these pushes. A small percentage HATE them, and the number of people who sign up and generate additional revenue likely outweighs their "scorn".
Load More Replies...Target didn't have this contract, but the unofficial rules were, "Ask them if they want to sign up for the Target credit card. Force them to refuse three times. Put the application in their bag anyway and tell them that now they can sign up for the card WHEN they change their mind. No is the wrong answer. Do everything but physically force them to sign up. Customers will NOT get pissed at you. Stop lying about customers throwing fits." Management terminated employees who didn't get enough people to sign up. In 2008. During the recession.
"_____ I agree that I will take the next job offer that comes my way."
The employees did this all the time at my local Walgreens. That's why I only ever use their drive through Pharm. They're hurting themselves by instilling this policy.
I don't mind people who ask. I mind people who ask again after I say no. My boyfriend in high school was asked at least ten times by a guy in Target if he wanted to sign up for their credit card. What part of no do you not understand?
Most every retail outlet has this. I don't mind if they ask once, but when I say a firm "No, thank you," and they continue to push, I become a bit unpleasant. I have even left items on the check-out counter before at a store when the clerk continued to badger me about it. No means no, and my saying "no" ONCE should be enough.

Every parent of a teen knows this by heart!! I have great kiddos but occasionally when they forget that they are still living at home etc. it's good to remember this.
I did exactly what this sign says and my life improved in every way. I left home at 17 and never regretted it. Sometimes parents (and other family members) are terrible people and kids genuinely should leave. Don't say s**t like this to kids unless you know what their home life is actually like. (Some kids are just spoilt brats who act out because they hate having to follow Parent's rules etc. But some genuinely need to get away.)
I did, the week after I turned 18. Best thing I could have done. Also put me financially behind my peers who had parents who supported them.

#3 at the end "possible legal action"... like what legal action? This is a Canadian franchise and I guarantee there are no laws here that make cell phone use illegal unless you are driving.
I always laugh at the text while driving laws. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying do it. It's just that so many cars now have touch screen controls that are far more distracting than any cell phone. Want to change the radio station? Look at screen, find the right spot and touch. AC, heat, fan, volume etc. None of the basics can be done without looking directly at that screen. even if you have your phone synced to it, you have to look at that screen to know where to touch to answer it. I don't have to look at squat on my car, I know from feel which k**b or button does what. How can talking on a phone be considered even close to as distracting as all that touchscreen c**p. I've even seen a motorcycle cop riding at interstate speed with both hands on his cell phone texting. Legal? No. Impressive? Hell yeah. Safe? No way.
Load More Replies...While this is harshly phrased it is not actually entirely unreasonable. Employees should be focused on the customers and store activities (cleaning, food prep, etc.) while on shift. I've seen many employees on their phones far too much. That said, a decent manager would NOT have a cow if someone took a single text when the store is empty, and should allow parents to take a brief call or text. But without a policy, you get abuse and the employer does not have a leg to stand on.
I would have them on a violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act. My hearing aids connect to my phone and I use an app to adjust them to compensate for background noise and the direction of the most noise (I can raise or lower the sensitivity from forward or behind me). When I put them on the charger at night, it resets them to the default programming entered by my audiologist (to "normal" setting). So I would have to reset for the particular area every day. Also, the Bluetooth connection requires the aides to be in proximity to the phone or they revert to the normal setting after being out of range after a period of time. Kind of like the old hearing aides where they had a unit worn on a waistband or belt, but with way more options lol...I'd love for these potatoes to tell me I couldn't use my hearing aides as they are intended to be used. I'd OWN the joint and fire THEM!!!
Poorly written/formatted but I agree with the concept on this one because, as always, people keep pushing until something drastic has to be done. I've been to multiple places, a Wendy's drive thru, a CVS, Lowe's customer service, etc, where I waited multiple minutes while the person at the counter carried on an entire phone or text conversation and just ignored me. Idgaf if you do that when you don't have customers, but I don't think it's too much to ask to get off your effing phone and do your effing job when I'm right there in front of you. They didn't even acknowledge me until they were done, and then they acted like it was the most extreme burden to actually take the 30 seconds to help me. I'm sure if they got fired for it, then they'd tell everyone that the manager was just being unreasonable and a slave driver.
I don't know that there would be legal action in a restaurant, but I worked in a food distribution center, and you could be civilly liable for having your phone out in certain areas, as it could cause contamination to occur.
Yup! Not the civilly liable, but for sure about the contamination. Phones are filthy, and plastic & glass aren't metal-detectible if it falls out of your pocket & breaks, even if it hits the floor. Gotta scrap half the batch & sanitize the food contact surfaces.
Load More Replies...I'm pretty sure the "legal action" part refers to the whole "not allowed to record anything" portion. It's unrealistic to think people won't bring a phone to work, but it's perfectly acceptable to expect them to leave it in a locker.
I would like to see that "legal action". If the company is smart, they will realise that it was pure bluff as they do not have a case, and if they are stupid they will have to dish out to pay for an expensive waste of time for the time in the legal system and an attorney that will rip them off. Either option will make them lose face and it will be quite fun to see what will then happen.

Posting such a sign is not great, but having your boyfriend at your work isn't either.
I was about to say. I had a boyfriend that would come and join me on my lunch break. My manager had no problem with it as long as it was understood that he would be gone once I started my shift. No different than a professional work place where spouses meet for lunch. It would be awkward to have him sitting next to me all day though. "You're distracting me...go away!!"

Sorry but many employers are avoiding younger people simply due to the majority not having any work ethics or priorities. I don't fully blame the youth, they weren't born that way, they learned it and most learned it from mom and dad. Congratulations for bringing another useless human into the world.

Several Employees At My Company Were Forced To Sign No Talking Contracts
As much as I don't want to defend stupid things, I've seen this kind of letter before, and it was 100% necessary. The company didn't want to fire the employee because when she worked, she was a good worker, but her constant need to chit chat and get distracted was causing serious problems that were just barely a hair under a fireable offense. Eventually she got her s**t together, but this kind of reprimand was absolutely necessary in her case, as it lit a fire under her butt. The company was a good one too, not one who didn't pay or value employees. They very much did, which is why they didn't want to fire her, just wanted her to realize her actions had consequences and it affected not just her. I'm pretty sure it was only her first possibly second job ever, and they were willing to recognize that. Although the letter she had to sign wasn't quite worded the same, lol, the intent was.
If you have to force people to do something, you better rethink that something, then f*****g stop it.
This is a reprimand, not a typical employment agreement, and it looks like it comes from a human resources department, not an incompetent, control-freak manager. Whoever submitted this better learn how this is different from the other posts of mostly truly terrible managers, or find themselves a new job.
sounds like a good candidate for malicious compliance. E.g. refusing to say a word to anyone but writing long emails instead and just shaking your head everytime your boss says do you understand? without giving him any feedback on what part he has to elaborate upon. Human beings talk and socialise, if you treat them like a cog in a machine, they will break down and become unproductive.
That was my first thought, too. Fine I just won’t talk at all from the moment I clock in the the moment I clock out.

If we are promised personal/sick/vacation time upon hiring, it doesn’t include any hours we aren’t at work. It means consecutive days off, and you MUST honor it. That’s the bargain, a*****e. If you have no honor and feel you shouldn’t honor the agreement, then brace yourself for your employees quitting en masse, and possibly a lawsuit as well. You will end up out of business.
Should be Gross Full Time Hours: 40x52=2080. Coffee Breaks: 2.5*52=130 Sick Days: 2*8=16 Holidays: 5*8=40. So 2080-130-16-40=1894 Net Hours. 1894/ 7.5 (actual hours worked full time) = 252 days you are available to work full-time. (Open to corrections if anyone wants to check my math.)
You work 5 days per week for 52 weeks, that's 260 days. Minus holidays and vacation, that 240 days. 8-5 minus lunch and coffee break is still 7.5 hours a day, that coffee eliminates the equivalent of 32 work days. You're still spending the equivalent of 208 eight hour days at work; 240 actual work days.
Well, alright, I'll come to work for one day and I'll take a years salary. See you next year.
Ok, go to your boss and say that you are willing to give up one of your vacation day, and work instead, and ask him to double your sallery. I mean if you put in twice the work, you should get twice the money, right?

Hubbard, related to Scientology Hubbard? That would explain a few things.
Hey Elbert, you forgot that loyalty and speaking well of someone is a TWO-way street. You EARN loyalty and good opinions. You cannot force them on people.
I just learned that this guy is supposedly the person that the quote "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade" is attributed to, and that totally ruins the meaning of that saying for me.
I'd love to see the "mirrored" message from workers requesting the employer to have the same degree of respect and loyalty in return.
Imagine having to specify that it's not your picture so you don't get fired smh
This guy was anti socialist, so I can see why people today take issue with him.
We Walked Out
Why is everything the Prez fault? He has the least power of all 3 branches of gvt. Are people really so stupid they think 2 months after taking office, the Prez can change the whole economy ? If getting laws passed and change enacted were this fast and efficient we would have no economic problems. Or trade problems or planet problems or crime problems or tax problems or energy problems…Idiots
Not to mention that COVID relief money was given out because people were being laid off or fired because of the lockdown. WTF did these people expect those employees to live off of? The fact that, for many, it was MORE than they were making at their jobs is a bad reflection on the stingy f*****g emplayers, and no one else.

Or was it the $210B profit Big Pharma raked in while we were all home avoiding Covid? Or the 2020 record profits the Banks tally during shut down? Or the billions Musk is spending on space toys, creating more space litter instead of making his cars safer or supporting our countries inability to feed ourselves? Or did Biden give money to Exxon/ Texaco so they could brag in 2019 the US has 3 yrs of oil supply stocked, then 2 years later, gouge prices and force our Prez to do business with murderous Saudis? Where is that supply? Where is all the fuel we saved not having jobs to drive to for 24 months? This country is so disillusioned by lies and greed… And these posts are all written by someone in a management role! A supposed leader. These are the companies who own and run business in our country acting like whining brats because no one wants to take their abuse any longer?
Since it takes 2 years for a president to make any difference in the economy, perhaps looking at the orange one.
People using their business to ventilate their political views are a no-go for me, no matter the political flavor. Your are company, act like it.

Sorry, I don't think this is that bad. I have been ignored many times because the staff is too busy talking to their friends or other coworkers. I get having a positive work environment and having friends there but ultimately, you are there to do a job and provide a service. Do that first and I don't really care after that. I shouldn't have to beg you to give you my money.
Wow, -1 for the threat, +100 that it's needed. I wouldn't even think about showing up at work on my day off.

If this is in the UK, considering we've had a Conservative government for the last 12 years that would suggest that Conservative values are quite possibly the problem, not the solution.
We're on our fourth(? At time of writing) Tory government in those 12 years, each one slightly different because a slightly different faction keeps getting to the front to make the most noise/do the most damage. Whenever it appears we've hit rock bottom someone finds a new shovel

And since her groomers were paid a percentage of the take for each dog they groomed, their wages went up as well. Restaurants may be different, but it shouldn't be that much different.
So you lost a poorly run business? that is what happens when you incompetently run a business, have no capital or loss customer confidence. You don't have the right to be kept afloat indefinitely.
Wouldn’t a ‘conservative’ minded business owner plan and prepare for the usual cyclical nature of economy in a capitalist society? Ebb and flow, money cycles are just like the moon cycles, it will always be bear or bull and that’s what makes the entire cog turn. What this small business owner should realize is Amazon, WalMart, Costco, etc are who raised his supply cost. And, they can afford to offer a livable wage, but only just enough. They have to keep the worker down still, they just are able to adjust enough to keep their machines turning. Big corporations drove him out of biz and took his employees… and he’s mad at the people who got unemployment for a year…such misdirected anger with so many Americans . Big retail want to eat up every small and large business and control all goods and services… they can afford to buy their competitors and to force smaller companies to close due to increased costs of supplies. Our economy has steadily allowed these giant retailers to absolutely dominate the retail and food supply in US . Prices of everything since 1980 have 4-10x… college, cars, houses, basic necessities, food, healthcare, medications!!!!since Reaganomics loosened regulations on trade, these companies can price gouge with no one to stop them. It’s a literal free for all what businesses are allowed to charge AND, all tax laws are benefited corporations…not the people. What didn’t increase with the costs of living, was income. Now, the market is s volatile with bankruptcies and shell companies all avoiding taxes and leaving the Americans workers to pay for everything. Bad combination that cannot sustain another cycle… add in the triple threat of aging workers retiring. 50% of US budget is spent on SS and Medicare…. Baby boomer generation will live on average 25-30 years without an income! That’s 25% of our population unable to put more into system than they use. It’s no one generations fault now- 40 years later… but when invisible money, stocks, shares, trades risky as they are, are seen as more valuable than actual goods and services…. What will that look like in another 40 yrs? Who will feed us? Teach us? Treat us?
That their screed is hand-written on the back of a menu instead of clearly printed off a computer just emphasizes how measured and well-reasoned are the thoughts of the person who puts these up
When You Don't Understand The Assignment
There's too much wrong with that to make just one comment... But I'm sure insulting your customers is a great way to get/keep business. Perhaps it's your sh*tty attitude that's costing you business
I would love to wear a Biden t-shirt under a sweater....then take off the sweater once I've eaten. I wonder if they'd accept cash from a democrat? The owner probably has a portrait of Donald Trump hanging above his fireplace. What a sad, sad person.
1) Not everyone is a member of Congress. 2) Don’t look to anyone but greedy corporations for inflationary price increases, as they’re the ones using a pandemic as a means to raise prices and gouge the public. 3) If you cannot pay staff, but want your restaurant to stay open, then you better f*****g well put on an apron yourself, and start cooking, waiting tables, and cleaning up. If not, then go belly up—but it will be your own fault, not the present administration’s.
I’m so lost… what part of the recovery bill offends him? What section is responsible for his costs going up? Who does he think sets those prices? Giant corporations that have gotten away with contributing $0 to our countries budget. Asking giant multi billion dollar corporations to pay 26% income tax is only equal to individual tax payers lowest tier. If these greedy giant companies pass on that tax bill to its consumers, do you think then people will wake up and see who the real demons are? I just don’t understand what they have read that leads to the opinion this is going to harm our economy and country? We need the money…. Companies need to pay their share like the rest of us…. What average working American could disagree with this? I truly do need someone to explain the opposing view.
Translation: I am a bad employer and my staff ran the second they had a better offer. I also don't want customers. Actually, I shouldn't be in business at all.
In this case it was correct. Your ignorant, naive decision was the full sentence.

Was this written by an eight year old? That's the handwriting of someone unfamiliar with holding a pen, who probably shouldn't be holding a management position either
In defense, i have absolutely terrible handwriting. I was still a good manager. Turns out my " clumsiness" was the beginning manifestation of a medical condition. Contents of the note still suck.

I hate it when they say "if I have to be here you have to be here". You're the MANAGER, that role comes with more responsibilities to go with the whopping pay increase.

Nobody quit their job because they got like $2,400. They quit because you are the basis for nearly all problems we are facing. EXPLOITATION.
If I had been one of their “valued customers”, I would be having some stern words with that franchisee. Word they will not want to hear, but should hear, about treating employees fairly, as well as paying them a decent wage. If the Stimulus, at about $600/week—-basically either $15/hour without taxes, health insurance, etc taken out, or what’s left over after taxes, etc are taken out of $18.75/hour—-is more than your company pays, then something is wrong with you and your company, and NOT your employees.
This note would be fine if they just omitted the first 1.5 lines of text. But they apparently had to throw blame n shame in a way that just seems dubious. Why be offputting to customers (and staff!) that don't share your POV?
Years ago I worked for a small manufacturing company. They hired a team of consultants to see how to raise company morale. At one of the rah -rah meetings they asked for suggestions. Mine was to take the money paid the consultants and give the employees a raise/ bonus. Didn't go over well.
It's not anti-work. It's anti-low-wage employers who treat their employees poorly. Enough places have raised wages and hours that people can work full time at a single employer instead of multiple part time jobs for minimum wage. These businesses need to raise prices and increase wages or close, their model is no longer sustainable. It's capitalism, except the item in short supply is labor. Pay more, treat people well or close.

You don't have to pay for the lawyers, they will fight for your rights if they have been violated. And it is illegal for your employer to retaliate against you for taking that action, so if they do those entities will protect you from that too. Or get you rehired with back pay.

All I saw, was poor management issues with each sign. There are so many people running businesses, that need to be trained in how to run a business, it isn't even funny anymore. Pay people a decent wage with benefits and adjust your prices accordingly and you may stay in business. Continue berating and threatening people and you can leave with a sad parting gift of, no company.
