The problem is makeup = not your real self/ costume. If you are not "pretty" without makeup or you have lots of eye shadow, foundation and bold lipstick colors on when you're "pretty" chances are you are not. This is pretty girls making ugly faces, but really it's the opposite. (not all but most). Of course then you also have the definition of what pretty is? If you google "pretty girls" that says most these photos aren't of pretty girls. Of course "pretty" is an opinion. There is this Jenna MArbles video of something like" How to be Hot when your not" which is an eye opener for guys who don't use makeup but also i remember this Fresh Prince of Belair episode where he's trapped in a basement room with his girl friend during and earthquake and his girl friends "makeup and accessories" start coming off and its a shock to him. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but also the majority of people and this article is a fabrication.
This rural English tradition now has it's own World Championships, with people coming from across the globe to try and win the title of ugliest face. Traditionally gurners frame their faces with a horse collar, in a procedure that is known as "gurnin' through a braffin'. A typical gurn involves projecting the lower jaw as far forward and up as possible, and covering the upper lip with the lower lip.

The World Championships are held in mid-September each year and there are competitions for men, ladies and juniors. England's best-known gurner is Peter Jackman, who won the world championship four times from 1998, with a face called the "Bela Lugosi."

This is NOT the same woman in both images. Shape of the lips are totally different - and it's not from the lipstick, either. On the left the bottom lip so much fuller. Shape of the eyebrows are different. And just the overall shape of the face, especially the chin. The one on the right looks to weigh quite a bit more, too. Also, the earlobes. It's difficult to see, but in the left image, the earlobes are attached (meaning the bottom of the ear where piercings usually are doesn't "dangle"). In the right image, they "dangle".

I think its funny how many people comment "not the same person!". Well yeah... it is. And even permanent features like teeth can look different from some different angle. Eyebrows are often filled in with makeup and makeup can also make your eyes look bigger etc. The way you feel can also have a HUGE inpact on how you look. The point is: we all have different sides, inside and out. Its not just "insta vs reality".
