They say not to count your chickens before they hatch. ‘Cause by doing so, you raise the chances for an instant loss of karma, dignity, and self-confidence, like, triple.
If you've ever been near the finish line raising your arms high in the sky, only to feel a cold wave of wind passing through while you enjoy the moment of not-earned victory, you need no further explanation. And if you are one of the lucky ones who hasn’t had their fair share of premature celebration-turned nightmare, please stay that way and keep on scrolling to see what not to do to become one of many.
Thanks to the subreddit r/Prematurecelebration, we now have the full-on archive of cringey glory that is a product of people celebrating just a microscopic little bit too early. So you'd better get ready to crack up big time.

To find out more about the community behind the r/Prematurecelebration subreddit, Bored Panda reached out to one of its moderators, u/N8theGr8, who was happy to share some insights.
The mod told us that the subreddit was created by u/potato88, who’s now a suspended user, back in 2013. Some time ago, though, the subreddit had no moderators, so the admins gave it to the current mod team, u/N8theGr8 said.
But since the subreddit revolves around a “kind of niche topic,” it’s not as active as it could be. “But we have half a million subscribers and it stays relatively active,” they added. Right now, the subreddit has 525k members in total and their community is still growing.

Good Idea To Straight Up Tell Everyone That You're Scamming A Company
When asked about the whole concept of premature celebration that the subreddit as all about, the moderator explained that it “just means celebrating some kind of win or victory before you really should.”
“Like a guy who runs a race and then slows down right at the end to do a victory jump and throw his arms in the air, only to be passed by the 2nd-place guy who then wins the race. Or 'Dewey Defeats Truman' newspaper held up by President Truman.”

A Youtuber Who Said Veganism And God Cured Her Cancer Has Died Of Cancer
Yeah- it's sad but what's more sad is- lots of people still believed her and lots still go with this kind of logic instead of seeking help.
Load More Replies...Liz had a depression, an alcohol addiction, stage 4 cancer that already spread to her bones and lungs and later she did get radiation treatment. I dont think she had much of a chance against this disease, even with regular medicine. This seems like an action of someone who had the odds working against them and took a gamble on something.
Yeah, but she shouldn't have claimed that she was cured.
Load More Replies...While my thoughts to go in a bad direction after reading this, mocking her would make me horrible. Is that what i should be doing ? mocking her? maybe she has mental illness we don't know. A little love goes a long way.
This should be upvoted. Really!! Don't know background of this story, but it seems for me same problem as with prosperity theology. There are actually people who are told that they are cured by God and if they go check their health in hospital, then it will be an act of disbelieve. Many people have died because of such fraud action.
Why do people say that belief in God and trust in doctors & medicine are mutually exclusive? When I was diagnosed with cancer in 1990, the doctors said I might have 6 months to live, or 2 years at the most. After surgery, I had chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but all the way through, people were praying for me. In 1995 I got the all-clear, no more likely to get cancer than anyone else. So 30 years later I'm still giving thanks to God because he gave the doctors the skill and the knowledge to give me the right treatment and care I needed.
Load More Replies...I live in the UK. After I was diagnosed with cancer, my Mum went into a charity shop, which raised funds for something called the Cancer Help Centre. The woman who ran the shop gave Mum a list of minerals, vitamins, etc that I supposedly needed. They probably wouldn't have done me any harm, but I would never ignore doctor's advice. Later that Centre was on a TV programme, where the patients ate lots of grated carrot. Although some people liked their 'positive' approach, (fresh air, exercise, etc) it was exposed as doing far more harm than good, and was forced to close.
I don't think veganism or her faith led to her death... many people who were cured of their cancer and got the "all clear" go on to develop cancer a second or multiple times (know first hand of such situations). The danger in this scenario is that (at the root of the matter) the person is in denial that they are sick and do not seek out the appropriate treatment soon enough.
I hope ppl have better sense then thinking being a vegan and praying to a magic wizard will cure them of whatever, but esp not cancer of all things.
While that's sad, it can also be misleading for people who are living with it who don't know any better. You know all those people who think the earth is flat? Yeah, those essential oils didn't help you, and going vegan won't either.
I didn’t come here for confused crying!
Load More Replies...Even stupid people deserve sympathy sometimes. Think of the pain she was in.
Load More Replies...i was cleaning my glasses as i was reading this and was like " veganism and Cod" and was like " damn, CallOfDuty cured her okay... " XD
Her niece is trying to blame it on being coerced into eating meat and microwaving food. Yeah, no. I am a member of an evangelical church that promotes healthy living, specifically being vegan or vegetarian, along with avoiding alcoholic beverages and caffeine. I can think of two people from church I knew that absolutely adhered to those principles, were avid runners and in good shape, and yet still died of cancer. One lady was barely in her 50s. It's just not that simple.
This is someone's fault. Someone convinced this lady that this was going to work. They should be held accountable. :(
Yes. God gives life in the first place. Everyone has to go at some point. If you want to live forever (but not on earth) get acquainted with God now, while there's still time.
Load More Replies...This is just sad as it her death was probably very preventable. The worst is when this happens to kids bc of their selfish idiot parents.
Everyone has different religious views so I won't comment on that part, but veganism curing cancer? What?!
You have a much better chance of surviving any disease by having a healthy diet. God isnt curing you.

Yeah, our Prime Minister said that we are "Best in covid" back in summer, and now we are "Best in covid" but from the other side :(

The redditor u/N8theGr8 continued: “When you're so close to the end that victory looks assured is when a lot of people let their guard down, and don't have the situational awareness to realize that someone else is trying to win too. It's fine to celebrate early, but make sure you're in a safe position to do so.”
I really wish there had been some explanation on the sports ones. Not all of us are in the USA and following US sports competitions.
I just saw rollerblading and Toronto Blue Jays. I don’t know where rollerblading is popular, but I would be surprised to learn that Toronto is in the USA🤷

Something cringeworthy makes you cringe. "Cringey" is not a word. Honestly.
QAnon should be added to this. The weeping "what just happened?" looks on the faces of these slobbering idiots the moment Biden got sworn in was priceless.
I'm not into sports at all but I got the sports ones and still find them funny. Most of these are self explanatory, for example its obvious "the fourth" meant the game was still going. I don't need to follow American football to figure that out. As for the gaming ones, lots of people provided context to them. Just because you don't like sports and games doesn't mean the compilation was bad.
