If you think summer is too hot, too sweaty, and too long, you’re probably getting more and more excited with each passing day. Fall is taking over next week, and the season is once again bringing all of its friends: longer nights, prettier leaves, and... Halloween with its costumes.
Most of the time, you probably feel like an outsider—people usually dream of lying on a beach under the blazing hot sun with a refreshing cocktail in hand. But there are more like you, I promise. Maybe you just haven’t met them yet because they’re too busy ordering pumpkin spice lattes.
And I’m not just saying it. Here’s a list of posts from people who appreciate Fall just as much as you do.

A flannel is a heavy cotton, sometimes wool, shirt that is worn in chilly weather. They are traditionally plaid - think lumber jacks. *edit* See #5 in the "Butterfly effect" post.
Load More Replies...The best part of being in my twilight years is how easily the words, "I don't give a f*ck", rolls off my tongue. I no longer have to tolerate insufferable people, animals, or kids. And I sure 'n heck don't care what I look like because it's more a problem for you than it is for me.
Being fit and wearing winter clothes is just as good, there are tons of winter options that only work with fit bodies.
I thought it was Susan Sarandon... They look really alike!
Load More Replies...Damn this literally looks so much like an older version of one of my friends
While this magical season puts on a spectacular and sprinkles stunning hues of red, orange, and yellow in many parts of the world, it enhances some spots more than others.
For example, take Paris, France. Fall is one of the best times of the year to visit this historical city because it's cheaper, less crowded, and possibly even more beautiful. Just imagine getting a chance to see the Palais-Royal Garden or Versailles surrounded by captivating colors.
My Russian students think it is so weird soup is seasonal in the US. Its a year round food here. But they are also grossed out by the canned soup too
I've tried SO hard to like soup! I make it every winter, several times, and it just sits in the deep freeze til I throw it out!
I'm also not a big fan! I think mostly cause it was a food that we were forced to eat when sick as kids and i still feel that it's something that you eat when you are not feeling well
Load More Replies...I love soup (and stews). I could live on it the rest of my days! I eat it all year 'round!
Not big on soup. It's the steaming hot casseroles I'm looking forward to.
I think I own those socks and those pants. As I don't have kids, I'm 95% sure this isn't a photo of me, but I have my doubts.
My husband is thinking of getting one of those. It looks very convenient, especially, when traveling and the weather is very finicky - where one can switch from pants to shorts and vice versa.
I used to have a couple of pairs of zip-offs, they're handy when you're camping because they're two in one plus generally made from a shower proof, but breathable material
Yep, I have a pair that I wear when I'm going to be getting into water (kayaking, or canoeing), because you can zip off the legs, and the shorts part dries very quickly.
Load More Replies...I thought these pants were the greatest idea when I first bought a pair. Right up until I could feel the zipper impinging on my legs every time I sat down.
Have to admit, I've never enjoyed Summer and much prefer Autumn / Winter. I love the changing of the seasons, the changing of our trees and the chill in the air... Bliss....
I agree. The beautiful sight of the turning of the leaves and the air is crispier, if you will.
Load More Replies...Autumn is my favorite time of year. Especially since I live in the Poconos of NE Pennsylvania. The fall colors are stunning! The days are warm but not humid and the nights are cool. Oh, and ghost shows on TV!!
Ugh I hate fall. Winter is okay but watching summer die is too painful. And Halloween is okay for movies but pretty much no other reason.
I love it when it's fall because it rains like crazy. I always close all the blinds when it rains, pop popcorn, and cuddle I a blanket to watch TV.
im mostly looking forward to not being judged for wearing my hoodies and leggings and fuzzy socks(namely my mom "iTs NiNeTy dEgReEs oUtSiDe" me "but were inside and its comfy")
Winter nights...wrapping up in a warm, fluffy comforter in a cold room is heavenly. And doesn't have the $500 electric bill it does in summer.
Another place that will soon put on a show is the Million Dollar Highway (US Route 550). Think about it: Colorado's fall is so incredible it even has its own name. Indian summer. The aspen trees that line this route paint themselves in a fiery red, orange, and yellow this time of year.
On the other side of the globe, we have Kyoto. This Japanese gem was actually voted the best city in the world twice in a row by Travel + Leisure and features incredible food and impressive architecture, but the real showstopper is its fall foliage. The bright red leaves around Daigoji Temple take everyone's breath away.
You can find more travel destinations for this fall here.
im the person who loves summer for about 3 weeks... at this point im over it ngl
Yeah, looking outside is like the first ever episode of Absolutely Fabulous when Edina opens her blinds.
Load More Replies...It's perfectly fine in the beginning, but by mid-June, I want crisp Fall air blowing around me.
I’m the opposite, I like to have fun and watch how much it upsets others lol
Ninja Brian hates everything. Does nobody else recognise this guy? He has a PhD for heaven's sake!
Summoning demons is a year round thing for me. Ha, kidding
Load More Replies...Wait! There is a designated season to summon demons?? That's why it never works...
I know right?! I thought I was just doing something wrong!
Load More Replies...Well, she is not wrong.... at least in the cold you put more clothes but in the heat you cannot do much! However I'm from a country that we don't have much cold so maybe i would have different opinion if we did
You're not wrong. I live in a cold country - and that's what it is... just bundle up and you're good to go. I have families who lives in a hot weather country - you can go buck naked, and it's still hot. 😆
Load More Replies...That's why I wore pants all summer. I hated the sweat but it was worth not taking the chair with me every time I sat up
I did too! Now my arms are dark brown and my legs are just yellowish lol
Load More Replies...Also, lighter fabrics worn in hot weather wrinkle after washing and require ironing or a trip to the cleaners. Hate it. So hot here this summer I could fry an egg on the surface of a parking lot. Too hot to walk the pups during the day. Not enjoyable.
Our junk can become stuck and pulled and pushed in all directions when it's hot, you have to do the 'ball sticking to the thigh walk' sometimes to pull them apart again.
I shave my pits year round and try to just sit / park in the shade. Summer is nice.
If you live in the northern latitudes that can totally be summer too. We often joke about having "green winter" and "white winter"
I love that! "Green winter and white winter" - beautiful.
Load More Replies...I call it bag-carrying weather because I peel off layers, and shove it in the bag.
No, she still looks cute in flannel. All ladies look cute in flannel. All fellas look cute in flannel. Everyone looks cute in flannel and no I am not taking feedback at this time, thank you.
In cool/cold weather, I simply add layers of clothing as needed. In summer there is a limit to how much clothing I can remove. Then there is the humidity. Only a tepid/cool shower will help that. If I lived alone, I could strip to nothing, stand in a cool shower, and step out without needing to dry myself. Let evaporation take care of staying cool. Finally, there are some lucky enough to have A/C. I happen to have Central A/C. It costs a bundle to run it in the summer. in addition, I am on oxygen day and night. My electric bill triples in the summer. I love seeing pre-season football games begin because that signifies summer is almost over. I have considered living in Iceland where most of the year is cool weather. But, I know that's not going to happen. Until I make my first billion, I shall make the best of where I am, in my forever home, still alive and kicking, at age 84.
I think we should say, the pattern flannel shirts usually are, plaid. I think in the UK a flannel is a washcloth. But what do I know?
We do have flannel fabric clothes as well, just not sure what it is like.
Load More Replies...In cool, cozy winter or autumn weather i can add sweaters sweat pants, a warm bathrobe, and even heavy socks along with a lap robe while watching tv. i, can bundle up as needed. in warm/hot weather, there is a limit as too how much clothing can be removed, unless you live alone. Then there is the option of running the A/C but that can be expensive. All this leaves is disrobing and standing in a tepid or cool shower. This discomfort lasts three months. That is why I don't like summer....and I didn't even get into the humidity issue.
MY AREA DOESN"T HAVE AUTUMN. WE HAVE SUMMER AND WINTER. AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER ARE STUPIDLY HOT. I HATE ThE SUN LETS ABOLISH IT AND ALSO ABOLISH TEMPERATURE.
I like all of life I guess but to me autumn is just the thing standing between beaches and ski chalets.
Spring and Autumn are the best seasons, because they provide a break from the extremes of temperature.
Not a fan of summer. I stay in mostly. Hate getting hot. Fall is my all time favorite.
Without spring and summer, there could never be the lovely season of leaf death
before i saw the picture i just thought of bokuto... come on bokuto, we need to stay clam here. I AM CALM. also bokuaka is very cute.
Looks cute but I haven't watched much of Haikyuu yet. What do you think of KageHina?
Load More Replies...So basic! I couldn’t even be around a person who cared that much about Halloween and football. Just seems like what everyone does, in the worst way.
Then stay far, far away from me. I love Halloween. Spooky season is the best season.
Load More Replies...I'm waiting for "mood after that" I get married in 117 days and for those that don't want to count on a calendar or google some stuff.... that is 12/21 4 days before Christmas which means we are 121 days away from Christmas.... you're welcome.
Other people: “You watching the game tonight?” Me: “What game?”
Load More Replies...Thanks for showing the right order! No skipping directly to Christmas in september guys!
I used to love summer, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve become more hot-natured. I now sweat at any hint of heat and humidity—-especially humidity (I need to move to the desert, I swear). Once Autumn arrives, and the crisp, dry air moves in, I will be able to exist without feeling like a damp rag all the time.
I about choked on and spat out my breakfast simultaneously from laughing so hard.
I don't know how much is 85 degrees but it's currently 40 degrees Celsius where i am and i want to remove my skin literally
Where I am it's been 36-38 celsius with 95% humidity. Talk about walking into an oven every time you go outside
Load More Replies...I watch snowfall and winter clips throughout Summer on Utube.. (Please tell me it's not just me that does that....). I love the rain, snow, autumnal and wind clips.. I find them strangely calming....
My brain works better when Fall comes around, then fades to almost nothing by mid-June.
Currently camping and my ass is planted under the tarp with the dog in the shade. Both of us swimming like 3 times a day. Hate the heat.
Im excited for Halloween bc my cat looks cute in her halloween bow 🥰 she has a Christmas one as well 🥰
Fall and winter clothing are like weighted blankets. I feel cozy and protected.
Lol in Australia we have two seasons Winter, Summer. Sumer is also spring and autumn. Winter is winter
Yes! I bow down to the Great Pumpkin. “Each year, the Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch that he thinks is the most sincere." - Linus van Pelt
I must confess to not really liking pumpkin pie.....even with toppings. And the only way I like yams are baked, split, and topped with butter....just like a baked potato.
I burn the Cinnamon Apple ones and the Pine scented ones all year around but they're extra nice when you light them and have them going along with the fireplace!
I get the same way over pumpkin spice mini wheats. I never eat cereal, bit those things in oat milk with extra spice sprinkled on top is sooooooo good.
I like the break of summer, but I HATE the heat and weather and mosquitoes. Fall/winter is the superior season
i second that statement. can we start a petition to erase summer from existence and just live our best fall gremilncore lives the whole year?
Load More Replies...That would certainly fix global warming if we ban summer, this man may be onto something
I miss all the available pockets not found in summer clothes because the designers assuming we all running thru a meadow or something. Nah, I need pockets, and cold weather clothes have them to spare.
I hate being hot but I love wearing flip flops as my main footwear. It's a love hate relationship.
Nah no way. Only while it snows or maybe during Christmas. Black slush phase of winter is rough, and the last stretch. Fall is just watching summer die.
I like fall/winter because its the only time of year when I can sleep really well
Oh yes, oversized cosy sweaters and hoodies give the best feeling at all.
Right! We have "2nd Summer" that starts in October. 100F/37C...
Load More Replies...You obviously don't live near a CVS where the Halloween candy's been stocked for the past 3 weeks. I don't need this stressful anticipation, CVS!!
I literally just took a snap shot and posted this to my stories im so excited
I love when pre-season football starts. The the prequel to Autumn for me.
i do both, i get ready for halloween like now then get ready for christmas on nov 1
I much prefer your type to them. Christmas, who cares. Halloween, get outta my way!
Yes, I scream whenever I see the Spirit Halloween store banners going up XD
I live in an isolated neighborhood with no kids, so no reason to dress up and give out candy. That doesn't stop me from buying candy, I just don't share it.
Just had a flashback to raking gigantic leaf piles and playing in them with my cats and the neighbor's dog.
if it's an extra month between august / september shouldn't it be Augtember?
Load More Replies...I will take that and call it WINTER IS OVER, FINALLY........ Can't wait for Summer.
Could call it "Black-Month" where we do nothing but shop for Thanksgiving and Christmas at reduced prices.
And the worms crawl in, the worms crawl out, they'll eat your guts and then... Oh, great, now it will be stuck in my mind all day long.
"the worms crawl in, the worms crawl out, the worms play Pinochle on your snout"
Load More Replies...Ghostbusters, Monster Mash, Spooky Little Boy Like You, Season of the Witch, Pet Sematary, Werewolves of London, Don't Fear the Reaper, A Nightmare on My Street
To be honest, I listen to Oingo Boingo year-round.
Load More Replies...There is Halloween music? (Excuse me but we don't really celebrate Halloween in my country)
Unspoken Halloween classics that you hear around this time of year. All scary or creepy songs.
Load More Replies...I love Christmas music. I listen to it all year long. Makes me misty eyed to recall happy Christmas and family celebrations from over 80 years ago.
This is my fave beeeecaaaause, I LOVE summer, love it! My birthday is in the summer, it's beach time blah blah blah... BUT this year I have exciting stuff coming in the winter so I'm gonna need summer to make an exit here pretty soon. Plus sick of being hot. lol
Oh, the joy of sleeping a night thru without soaking the sheets. I love you Fall.
There he is again. My heart beats with the adoration I feel with I see this man
What long slender fingers you have, grandma. The better to tickle you with, my dear.
Winter is the season where nobody will question your for wearing a duster/trench coat
Ah, but they might! Kinda hard to not to, you know, if you're among people looking like walking puffer coats, thigh deep in snow...
Load More Replies...Don't care about the tree. Just want to inhale that crisp, cool air and feel alive again after my summer dormancy.
oh good, I'm not the only one. So this is why Bored Panda Readers ask for Bleach Juice. I'll take a glass of one & a bucket to throw up into Thank you.
Load More Replies...Why do so many celebrities allow nitwits with no taste dress them? I've had to fast forward thru shows because some of them are in such hideous attire I'm embarrassed for them. And, whoever brought back puffy sleeves, I hope you rot in hell.
We watched that 2 days ago. My baby brother was SUPER into it. He kept screaming "Look, a baby!!" whenever Toby appeared onscreen. He's 2 XD.
Load More Replies...I think you've taken the Autumn/Halloween metaphor a bit too far off the path.
So far spooky season has been going on almost two years. Those masks are the scariest ever.
And safer, too. No nasty tricks from that killer Covid
Load More Replies...Heck, you can enjoy spooky season any day of the year. Just depends on which hood you're walking thru.
Like the time my friend wanted a toasted ham and cheese sandwich, but it was 10 am and the guy behind the counter told her lunch wouldn't be served for another 30 minutes. "You can still order from the breakfast menu." Friend scans the menu then says, "You take special orders?" "Sure," he replied, picking up a pad and pencil. She said, "I want two slices of bread, a slice of ham, a slice of cheese, stacked together and toasted on the grill."
unfortunately, where i live, summer doesn't really end until late October ) :
And for the WLW among us: "givin' your girl your fave hoodie" season
I have no idea why some bozzo downvoted you, but I fixed it. Have a great fall! =)
Load More Replies...Not for me. Where I live it’s still so dang hot. I have to wait till November
Sweat, heat, sun, mosquitoes, difficult sleep, droughts, floodings, fires... Summer sucks !
Ha, I'm usually the only one who feels better from fall to spring instead of in summer. But I still feel sad when summer ends. And indian summer is my favourite, when the fragile melancholy is almost palpable. (Yes, I'm deep and complicated.)
I agree with all that you said but I don't fell that deep or that complicated.
Load More Replies...Lol I don't know why I bothered to read this when I know I can't relate. I'm down under where autumn is literally the most insignificant season. Like, there's Easter, which is a spring thing anyway and the leaves aren't even orange. But I can't wait for winter to be over. I need some spring vibes right now.
Some parts of Aus have true autumn. But not many. Fall in the USA, is just spectacular! I get SO jealous of their autumn and winter (in the snowy areas). But I'm with you about spring - can't WAIT for it to be here!!! Almost vegie planting season again!!
Load More Replies...I hate sweat, bugs and hot. I don't care how cold it gets, there can never be enough winter for me.
We are literally burning in the Mediterranean..... i cannot wait for the heat to end! All I'm asking is at least 35 degrees!
