This corn of teen is getting on everyone's last nerve—at least according to Twitter, that is. If you've noticed that something is off about that sentence—fear not, it does not (necessarily) mean that Bored Panda is run by a bunch of illiterate folks. However, we did notice a strange... ehm, trend, recently? As it turns out, there are more people who can't spell "quarantine" than we'd like to believe. So. Many. Of Them. As some would say, the number of people referring to "quarantine" as "corn of teen" is just too damn high!
Therefore, we made you a list of people whose grammar and spelling skills are not their strongest suits. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that, but nothing wrong with having a little laugh, either, right? So scroll down below and vote for the entries that made you chuckle!

Especially since he’s been taking it all for “granite” all this time
Load More Replies...Those who take things for granite are probably stoned in the first place. :D

Load More Replies...Reminds me of rick and morty. It's granted hahahah did you really think it was granite

actually it's a trend on twitter, ppl deliberately spell words incorrectly for example literally to lit rally and horny to whore knee
Maybe while you're on "cornteen", you can read the dictionary and learn how to spell.
"Day 10 of Corn Teen: Bought myself a dictionary. Did you know the words and aren't in the dictionary!?"
and with that level of spelling, you should be back in (online) school :)
I don’t know... I was thinking of making my next teen out of broccoli. I need a broccoliteen no more cornteens.
My suggestion: work on your grammar and spelling skills. Information and courses are readily available on-line.
This speaks volumes on the educational system in North America.
Load More Replies...Tried it on three different devices. Typed "q u a..." and at no point did "corn teen" or "corn tine" pop up
These people never typed “q“ in the first place.
Load More Replies...Was eager to read misspelled variations of "quarantine" only to find out it was full of "corn teen".
But what about “corn of teen“ and “corn and teen“?
Load More Replies...I think we need to start passing out Dictionaries along with Vaccines... agreed?
Quarantine = quarante in French, cuarentena in Spanish or forty in English! It is not a difficult! The same as people spelling "definitely".
It is amazing how fashionable illiteracy has become. Particularly among the, ah, "educated."
I think a lot of people not only don't know how to spell, but also have really terrible pronunciation. People are spelling it "cornteen" because that's what they're hearing (and they don't read the paper).
I'm intrigued how Americans pronounce 'quarantine' (I'm still amused by how buoy is pronounced over there). Is it close to 'corn teen' e.g. not a 'kw' sound at the beginning
When I used to tell jokes in school, I was called a corn-y teen...
Meh, "cornteen" sounds to me (a non-American) fairly similar to how an American would say quarantine, so not that strange.
So, at a time when this is indicative of the literacy of many students, schools are closed with no contingency plan (if they can still assign work on snow days, they can figure out how to do it for a quarantine) to keep way too many students on track to learn what they need to pass or graduate. Or spell.
Do we honestly have to corn teen everyone??!! This might be nature's way of trying to reduce the volume of stupid people on the planet. Maybe we should let them expose themselves to the virus. But with these IQ levels, that means they'll probably just step outside and drop their trousers. And I don't want that either.
Worse is when they spell it “quarentine” on EVERY post for the past month. Like how... you’re so close, all you gotta do is turn on autocorrect.

In this day and age there is no excuse for not looking up how to properly spell a word. Even if you weren't sure how to spell quarantine before the pandemic, you should know how to spell it NOW since the word is all over the news. And what about spell-check?
People are stupid. That's why. Also, fun fact: these idiots vote!
Load More Replies...It does explain why people have difficulties with the advice to quarantine. They do not even know what it means.
Here in Indiana, USA, in every county, a young lady will be named Corn Teen, aka County Queen, each summer. No, wait -- it's the corn teens who help out with the harvest at the end of the summer. Yep, I think that's right.
Looking at this, I kept thinking, “ So biased. Why are there no cauliflower teens.” But seriously. This is sad.
Right...so, you start the word with the CORRECT letter "Q" and it auto corrects to "corntine"??? Yeah, I don't think so
