The ‘What I Wanted Vs. What I Got’ Trend Has People Sharing Funny Stories Of Frustration (35 New Pics)
What you see is not always what you get. Especially when it comes to someone trying to sell you their products or services.
Last year, we at Bored Panda covered a TikTok challenge that invites people to reveal the times they wanted very specific things but received something else entirely and were completely disappointed.
Well, the 'What I Wanted Vs. What I Got' online trend is still going strong, so we decided to make another publication about it. From ruined hairdos to tattoo disasters, we went through everyone's most hated and beloved app, and here's the new batch we compiled for you.
TikTokers are continuing to make videos about their unexpected regrets and millions of people are tuning in to share their sorrow

THAT ONE FINGER IN THE WHAT I GOT PICTURE LOOKS LIKE IT SHRIVELED UP LIKE A DYING LEAF 😂 😂 😂
I feel so bad for laughing but gosh those hands are cracking me up with how deformed they are
Moral of the story: Always ask to look at the artist's recent work before sitting in their chair
Someone give me something to stop my laughs, I'm pretty sure my neighbors are getting scared
The photo on the right is far more interesting with better composition, objectively.
I think so. Since Kim Kardashian is so popular. Google her butt.
Load More Replies...Accepting the bad hand you were dealt and laughing about it online is actually not the worst way to cope with hardship. According to the American Psychological Association (APA), people react differently to uncertainty and those with a higher intolerance for it may be less resilient and more prone to low mood, negative or down feelings, and anxiety.
The organization also provides these simple steps that can help you feel in control:
First of all, be kind to yourself. Some people are better at dealing with uncertainties than others, so don’t beat yourself up if your tolerance for unpredictability is lower than your friend's. Remind yourself that it might take time for the stressful situation to resolve, and try to remain patient with yourself in the meantime.
Poor kid's gonna have nightmares now. Elmo's ruined for them.
The temperature of the room and materials matter. I’m guessing this was a hard won lesson here.
I thought it was the case of "I saw this on another baker's website, but you said you'd do it cheaper, so I went with you even though I've never seen an actual photo of your creations"
Load More Replies...So, what do you get when Squidward and Elmo have a love child...
I can picture her soul leaving her body after seeing and wearing this disaster. I mean, THAT expression says it all 🙌🏻
What you got was an unfinished dress- I can almost hear the word bursting from your mouth!
Load More Replies...Ah yes, good ol' Shein. You do indeed get what you paid for. Easy ways to tell if a site is selling fast/knock off fashion: a) the price is too good to be true; b) it is impossible to contact customer support; c) reviews are impossible to find on the website or they are written in poor English; d) the website uses stolen photos of models from other sites and doesn't show their heads.
I can't fault shein I love it , but I bought 2 dresses for something I was going to , both under £30 1 went to charity shop as it made me look pregnant lol , the other was perfect and people were admiring it and asking who did I hire it from , it's hit and miss but better than wish lol
Load More Replies...What some companies do is post pictures of clothes designed by other companies and then hire people to try and replicate these designs. However, this usually doesn't work out...as can be seen above.
You can also reflect on past successes. Chances are you've overcome stressful events in the past, so give yourself credit for it. Reflect on what you did during that event that was helpful and what you might like to do differently this time.
Also, work on developing new skills. When life is relatively calm, it can be a good idea to try things outside your comfort zone. From standing up to a difficult boss to picking up a hobby, taking risks helps you develop confidence that comes in handy when life veers off course.
I'm seeing kids' favorite characters getting ruined for them, and the new nightmare materials setting in
Im seeing a parent who did their best on a very tight budget and the 3 year old still loving it though.
Load More Replies...I feel like they tried to make a hulk cake for their kid they thought would be doable for them and even that didn’t turn out. Then claim they were going for the pie in the sky one on the left to begin with. No
Load More Replies...Me too! He's always so angry. Cheer up, Hulk!
Load More Replies...I hope for her sake that this wasn't for something important like a wedding or a quinceanera
I don't mean to be rude or anything, but what is a quinceanera?
Load More Replies...I feel sorry for them because obviously people are buying these things out of desperation because they can’t afford to just go dress shopping. But at some point intelligence should overpower wishfulness and say “hey there’s no way a $15 dress is going to be that well made” and just go find something at Target or borrow clothes from someone. It’s more expensive to waste money on things you really can’t ever wear.
Or use one of the dress rental companies - they will even send extra dresses in a size smaller & a size bigger so you can be sure of getting the right fit!
Load More Replies...To be honest, even if the dress had been exactly like the left pic, it wouldn't have looked the same as it does on the model. A dress like that, to fit as skin-tight, has to be made specifically with the model's measurements. Or at least altered once the model tries it for the first time. It's also quite common that garments are pinned on the back of the model to make them look like they fit properly. It's pretty unlikely that a standard not elastic skin-tight dress can fit perfectly, unless the buyer has a perfect sample-size body in terms of measurements and height. A small size difference can change drastically how the dress looks. Also it looks like the two women in the pics have two different body types: the model has an hourglass/pear shape while the buyer is probably an apple/inverted triangle. The dress wouldn't have looked like it does on the model, because it's made to fit and enhance a specific body type.
90% of the clothes you see on models are clipped in the back, or the side not shown - the wardrobe people on the photo shoot use clips similar to the ones used to hang laundry outside.
Load More Replies...I think the biggest lesson illustrated by this gallery is that you absolutely get what you pay for, and if it sounds too good to be true, it's from Wish. I think going thrifting would be a far safer plan for special occasion clothing.
Yup! She literally got what she wanted. Maybe she doesn't know how to wear them
Load More Replies...To be fair, it does look like they're bunched the jeans a lot in the original, and folded them under themselves.
True! Didn't notice at first. Not sure if she is short but that could make them really long for her if she didn't go with petite. I think you are right though about the pants in the original picture.
Load More Replies...Judging by the picture, it looks like you're supposed to pull the legs up to get those wrinkles
I'm only 5'6", but I take a 33" inseam due to long legs, so I'm with you on the loooong jeans!!! In fact, I buy men's jeans just to get the length I need - hate hate hate jeans that don't cover my ankles!
Load More Replies...Looks like a cheap sleep shirt from Walmart or the like.
Load More Replies...Why *wouldn't* they want the original one? Fixed it for you ;)
Load More Replies...Both equally hideous. First one actually looks like a professional ballroom dancer outfit or ice-skating or something
Another luxurious dress purchased from Wish, Ali Baba, or Shein.
So true, and if you do, don't try to get your money back - it's gone.
Load More Replies...Limit exposure to the news if you think it's affecting you. When we’re stressed about something, it can be tough to look away, but compulsively checking the news only keeps you wound up. Try to limit your check-ins and avoid the news during vulnerable times of day, such as right before going to bed.
Let go of things that are out of your control. When uncertainty strikes, many people immediately imagine worst-case scenarios. Try to get rid of the habit of ruminating on negative events.
Furthermore, ask yourself: if a friend came to me with this worry, what would I tell her? Imagining your situation from the outside can often provide perspective and fresh ideas. Trust your gut!
Someone did this to themselves. I see that DIY in the title in the background. This is exactly what you should have expected.
I am so sick of entitled, privileged TikTokers lying through their teeth for Internet clout. You must live a pretty sad life or lack so much self esteem that you have to lie online to get your 15 minutes of fame. Stop being an idiot and fess up that you cut your hair yourself.
Oh my goodness, please don't try to cut your own hair, it almost always ends badly. It's worth the money to pay a stylist to do it and not suffer for years with a horrible cut while your hair grows back out.
It's actually pretty cool, just less professional. You should buy these sorts of things off the shelf, not online.
Yeah, I got the "WTF is this" reaction before I saw the second one
Load More Replies...Not too uncomfortable. I’ve worn some before. The paw pads are a little uncomfortable on hardwood but not too bad at all.
Load More Replies...To be fair, every single gumball eyed icecream I've ever purchased since 1982 looked like a prop from a horror movie. 👀
Well to be fair if you bought it then had more groceries to buy it probably started to melt long before you got home
Engage in self-care. Don't allow stress to derail your healthy routines. Make conscious efforts to eat well, exercise, and get enough sleep. Many folks find stress release in practices such as yoga and meditation.
Seek support from those you trust. People tend to isolate themselves when they’re stressed or worried but social support is important, so reach out to family and friends.
Do with the same tattoo artist please.
Load More Replies...I think this could easily be reworked into something nice by adding more black
Do you mean by outlining the fire, or adding more soot? Hahaha, jk, I agree line work would make it look better.
Load More Replies...Unfortunately, even if that tattoo would’ve turned out great, it’s still tasteless
Here with all the pretty tick lines... Gonna be big and expensive but it is needed. And good artist too...
Load More Replies...I'm sorry I'm not buying this one either. It looks like they did it themselves with pen. It looks like pen and if you zoom in you can see smudging. Why, why, why do these TikTokers have to lie for Internet clout---are you really that desperate?
I think it's just pen, and they did it to themselves. No way they could not have seen the disaster while being tattoed.
Looks like the tattoo 'artist' gave up on life while doing the job.
These are attempts at making the kids stop demanding watching the same thing on repeat and over again
Load More Replies...Come on! This is a Barney cake pan in the "wanted". The "got" is just a flat, frosting job! Did they think a cake was going to fly out of that pan and be perfect?!?
The first was done with a star tip and a small writing tip. The other was slathered on frosting and a too big writing tip.
barney looks like a pedophile... the kid is probably gonna have nightmares
Someone with more knowledge, please tell if the condition of your hair would make a big impact on the result here? Cause the hair in picture two looks horribly damaged.
The question there is: Was her hair horribly damaged before the dye job, or after?
Load More Replies...It depends also on how coarse your hair is and what color you originally had.
I was thinking the same! I don't remember ever seeing that dark blue hair on anyone (/haven't noticed it). Usually when people dye their hair blue it's either something bright like electric blue, or pastels/greenish sea foam or the like. But navy/dark blue not so often.
Load More Replies...As mentioned before, focus on the things that are within your control. Even if it's something as simple as meal planning or laying out your clothes the night before a stressful day. Establish routines to give your days and weeks some comforting structure.
However, if you continue to have trouble managing stress and coping with uncertainty, ask for professional help. Psychologists are experts in teaching people how to develop healthy ways of tackling stress.
At the end of the day, thinking differently about your ability to manage uncertainty is a skill that can improve with practice. But if venting on TikToks works, who's to say you're doing something wrong?
I gotta say, this might just be her hair without professional styling or after few weeks passed by. Left is freshly done, with a lot of hair care products, right seems like what happens with heavily coloured hair in everyday life.
It takes upkeep. Maybe this is simply a bad hair day.
Load More Replies...Oh, this is off topic but I dyed my hair too! The whole top layer of it is purple! Sorry, I'm just excited about it lol.
This is the same person, just some time later after the roots have started to show...
Both pictures are not the same person. At the beginning of the video it says that this is what I showed my stylist that I wanted. Then it shows her process of having hers done. Her hair was super dry and damaged looking before they started and the picture on the right is freshly done. It was a horrible color job.
Load More Replies...They definitely used a needle that was too thick for this type of fine line tattoo.
Nope. This is just a part of the body where the ink bleeds out under the skin. I have a tattoo behind my ear, that is supposed to say "42", but only few years later it is often mistaken for a Fish or skin cancer.
Load More Replies...Left is a temp (fake) tattoo, no way you can get that fine design with a needle.
Granted, what she wanted is pretty and what she got is an abomination ..... but with the line work and shading so incredibly delicate on the "want," it would fade to a mess pretty quick anyway.
I can only imagine how horrible it must be to regret something like a tattoo. I've made some bad purchases that I've regretted, so I can only imagine how tough this must be.
Yeah it must be terrible. A long time ago I read in the paper (here in Sweden) A woman wanted a my little pony tattoo, quite a big one. She got a c*mshot instead. She had given the tattoo artist what turned out to be a p*rno movie to look at instead of a my little pony video. The boyfriend "don't watch p*rn" so she never knew where it came from.
Load More Replies...Okay, that's just fugly. Forget glitter; it looks like it's full of ants.
That looks like a homemade sublimation tumbler to me (it is very hard to do and looks like the person who did it didn't practice with the coating)
Load More Replies...And used the wrong kind of needle. In this case that is ANY needle. This person should not be allowed to tattoo anyone or anything outside some dead tree bark.
Load More Replies...There’s a reason why good tattoo artists charge the amount they do and why they’re usually booked out months in advance. With this type of thing you usually get what you pay for.
Going on the cheap with tattoo is always a mistake, you need to check the portfolio of the artists, don't walk in a parlour randomly
I went into a random parlor once and looked through their portfolios. First one had polaroids and bad lighting and bad staging on every one. And they were all cliche flash jobs. Pretty much. So I figured well one portfolio. Nope. They were all like that. I was astounded.
Load More Replies...I am researching my tattoo artist and seeing their work in person before I get mine
It looks like a completely different creature like picture one is a b and picture too is a moth
yep, it's accurate. Left: what you think it will be like to have your own money and own place. Right: what it actually is like.
Load More Replies...Kylie Jenner had this on in one of her IG photos. Yes, it stretches like crazy, but unless your paying for the actual designer then expect to get the crazy, cheep, knockoff that doesn't stretch or fit.
I've got one similar. I'm allot bigger then her if I can fit it she sure can
Yep, I have a bunch of these and they all fit pretty well, even after gaining a few pandemic pounds.
Load More Replies...To be fair, bodycon pieces are supposed to be like that. Your body is what makes the shape. Which is unfortunate for some of us hahaha I doubt her tho😉
Even if it was exactly the same it wouldn't fit like the pic. The entire back of that outfit is synched tight with duct tape and clothes pins.
Nuh uh. Someone getting beat if that's what showed up when I ordered the other one. You don't mess around with chocolate dipped fruit. Especially chocolate dipped strawberries. That's asking for an old school beat down.
I love that you're taking a stand for chocolate dipped fruit, it had to be done.
Load More Replies...I'm sorry, once again this looks like it is set up for Internet clout, and tray on the right was done by hand.
Anyone who did this to me would have to face my wrath
My thoughts too. It took longer to post the pic than it would to fix it. One way or another, a pair of pliers is the answer here. 😜
Load More Replies...The color is waaay off but at least it looks like an actual dress and the material is not bad- from here anyway -
Why is she holding her mouth in horror as if she's only just seen what she looks like?! Did she put it on with her eyes shut? :P
Oh, I see the problem! She has one too many arms!! No wonder it doesn't fit!
Omg another crap rip off from Wish. You pay cheap you get even cheaper produce
To be fair to the stylist here, she didn't have long or thick enough hair for that style to be possible without extensions.
Than a hairdresser should have said something along: lady, you do not have enough hair, we can use extensions or we can make something different.
Load More Replies...To be fair, the hair on the left looks like extensions were used. Not fair to compare with natural hair, no? I think the young woman/bride’s braid is beautiful - not fake. Lovely.
My sil is a stylist and she hates instagram because of stuff like this. People don't realize extensions or wigs are involved. Plus you have to bring the extensions with you because most stylists don't have them on hand.
Plus, hair that looks good on IG is not necessarily a good style for actually wearing. Those loose braids can be fragile.
Load More Replies...Loose braid takes skill. I can do an ordinary braid. Poor bride. Very disappointing.
The 1st girl more than likely used extensions(and that’s ok ) ! The second girl should have too !
"I'm sorry miss, we sent you BigFoot's order by mistake. Our bad."
True! But the second pic would make her look like a straight up sister wife....Ugh.
Load More Replies...if the first pic is what she wanted then she should have just taken an old pair of jeans and modified them. it's basically the same thing .
It's exactly the same thing. When I was a teenager, we made skirts out of jeans ourselves. We also wore out our jeans and didn't need to pay high prices for jeans worn out by the company. I've even seen sneakers in store windows that had a pattern, white with gray smears, to make them look old.
Load More Replies...All it needs is a pair of scissors and a couple hundred runs through the washer.
As a matter of fact, I'm a granny and I used to have a skirt like the one in the second picture. ;)
Load More Replies...She said: "This is what they delivered to her. Let me know in the comments if you want to see the other ones"
Load More Replies...People gotta stop buying clothes from Wish and other shady online companies like that. I learned my lesson with Wish years ago!
Translation of the comment on the left: This is what they gave me. Let me know in the comments if you want to see the rest.
This such an easy nail art to do, please don’t tell me it was done by a “ professional”
Prob a friend of a friend who failed beauty school but does nails wicked cheap!
Load More Replies...You wanted ugly nails, you got ugly nails. Not sure what you’re complaining about 🤷♀️
How can you type with those nails? Okay, I'm serious, so please no rude follow-ups.
Probably by making sure you never press with the very top of your finger and have the fingers more pointed straight..
Load More Replies...Well I’m here seeing these nails, does anyone have a recommendation for stick on nails kinda like this that don’t suck. I can’t find a good brand that will stay on. I had these Christmas ones that where AMAZING but I can find the brand anymore 😢
Had some from a brand called kiss. They were called Kiss everlasting or something. They were quite good actually. :)
Load More Replies...I don't get most these. They're not even bad versions of the original, they're literally something else
Do not the branches flex out? Thi is what most artificial trees look like before you fan out the branches.
Right...this is CLEARLY user error, not the product.
Load More Replies...By day, she dances, by night she becomes a tree fluffer.
Load More Replies...I think the wired pieces are still in packaging mode. They need to be pulled apart to fill the tree out. Not saying it will look exactly the same as the ad image, but it will probably look much better - and more natural (less conical). Hope you worked it out!
Ok I have a fake tree. You are supposed to open the chunks of branches. There all bunched together to make it better for storage
My family had a Christmas Tree like this pretty much my whole childhood. We'd reuse the same one every year. Every time we took it out of the box in the attic it would look like the second pic because of us stuffing it in the box the previous year. It takes literally forever, but you can fluff every branch out.
Though the materials are clearly different, I feel like it would fit perfectly on someone with the same body shape as the first pic.
It also needs ironing or something. Awfully wrinkled.
Load More Replies...Ya might want to iron that thing (unless the “fabric” is the melting kind- which it certainly could be in this case!)
I like the second one, except that the arms seem a little too short.
I can't fathom that she'd believe she could receive the coat on the left, for what she probably paid for the coat on the right. There's a sucker born every day.
Load More Replies...Not gonna lie, I've thought that about several of these pictures.
Load More Replies...I don't like it, either. I definitely am out of touch, though 😂
Load More Replies...I wanted to look like an idiot with straight lines, but I ended up looking like an idiot with crooked lines!
Tbh I like the second one better... just clean it up a bit and it would be fine.
Totally agree, both horrible but that on isn't as friar tuck-ish!
Load More Replies...The first one makes you look stupid. The second one is a DIY effort to copy the first one. I cut my own hair with a buzzer. You need some practice and do it in steps. And for something like that, you need a barber/stylist.
The world is filled with amusing disappointments that can take you by surprise when purchasing a product or service. Finding humor in these unexpected experiences can be a delightful coping mechanism. Just as the 'What I Wanted vs. What I Got' theme vividly captures the disparities between hopes and reality, acknowledging these mismatches can lead to laughter and understanding.
Enhancing your perception of this concept, explore the intriguing examples shown in the realm of unpredictable outcomes.
Looks like they got an infection too! I wonder if that was included in the price? 🤔
People need to quit getting tattoos done in their "tattoo artist" friend's kitchen. Scratchers can and will give you a potentially deadly disease! Always go to a reputable shop that is CLEAN. I am heavily tattooed and have never once gotten a bad tattoo or an Infection.
The friend must be a dentist as they do look more like teeth than butterflies.
Load More Replies...I think it is covered with tattoo tape. It's like a very thin, clear, medical grade tape that keeps moisture out. Like a second skin.
Load More Replies...Do these people look at portfolios prior to going to a shop? actually, these are probably done in a kitchen somewhere. You get what you pay for
OK seriously, where are people getting these tattoos? You can't expect your friend who bought a tattoo gun off of eBay to do the same kind of work as a professional. And if you got this at a shop you got ripped off. Never let someone tattoo you without approving a stencil of the work first!
It was just done bc the wrapping is still on. It's going to look blotchy, but when you wash it, it could be fine.
You buy crap from Wish for $0.99 and $10.00 shipping, you get crap from Wish.
You were never gonna look like that model. She has a totally different body type.
You need to adjust the straps, but it's not a lost cause. Depending on how talented you are, you can add sequins yourself.
It's definitely not the same but at least it's not as butt ugly as some of the other examples people have been getting.
Exactly. You get what you pay for. People also need to check out the artist and shop before committing. Tattoos are generally forever, unless you can afford laser removal.
Load More Replies...I don't understand all those bad tattoos. Don't they draw a stencil first, which is then placed on the skin for the customer to see if it's what they imagined (and for the tattooing process)?! At least that's what tattoo artists here in Germany do.
I keep commenting the same thing. My tattoos were stenciled on me first to make sure I liked the design and placement before I let them start with the gun. All the shops I've been to in the US follow this procedure, so I wonder if these are amateurs working out of their garage or something?
Load More Replies...Needle was the wrong type. If it's your first, I'm sorry. But always do research and DON'T go with the cheapest artist available. Most artists showcase their work either on Instagram or professional websites, always check it out and read reviews.
"Not that bad." is never good enough with a tattoo. Never choose the cheapest artist. Look at their previous work. I never get this.
Load More Replies...This might look completely different standing straight up. The mannequin also has quuiitte unrealistic proportions, so the result must differ. Also: lighting.
She forgot to buy hips, boobs up on her shoulders, and a few more inches in height.
Load More Replies...I think the dress needs to be fitted. it's definitely too large a size for the lady on the left.
Agree. It appears to be a good quality fabric, unlike others on this list.
Load More Replies...A lot of times the clothing is clamped in the back to make it completely form fitting on the model or mannequin; they hide it really well in photos for ads. Unless you can afford haute couture, you're gonna end up with disasters like that, especially if you're ordering from Wish or others like some of the shadier sellers on Amazon.
I made the mistake of buying some cool looking "goth" clothes from Wish years ago for CHEAP and certainly got what I paid for. I usually pay upwards of US $100 for Royal Bones or Tripp pants and found some similar designs on Wish for US $15 and got complete garbage that I had to donate because they were so terrible and poor quality.
Other than the colour (could be a lighting issue), it looks close. The blouse is hitting her hands and the pants her feet so the length is right.
People expect to look like the models even though the have different body types
The outfit itself is very nice, but it is sized for someone much taller. Shortening the tunic, sleeves and pants will make it look much better on her.
Load More Replies...This is alot about posture, some tfixing tricks, lighting and, by the looks oft the legs, some photoshop.
I think one of the biggest problems is that the one on the right doesn't look finished, at least from my comp. It looks like all the hems aren't sewn back. Like someone just cut the fabric, tossed it together and called it a day.
Just because you wouldn’t want it, doesn’t mean somebody else feels the same. Like the old saying: One man’s meat is another man’s poison.
Load More Replies...I guess some artists can't blend. I Hesitate to call them artists
Load More Replies...They look like they are on backwards. All the ones I have used don’t fit like that…
Lets forget the terrible polish job for a minute... Cut cuticles and skin, crooked nails, acrylic not even to the cuticle line- this nail tech needs her licence pulled asap!
And now she has to pay again to have them fixed. They never mentioned that she got her refund
Load More Replies...Not even close. Im sorry but stop these people before they do the savage damage. This woman is actually bleeding because she couldn't confront someone comfortably.
THANK YOU. If you're not happy SPEAK UP. She paid and left without saying anything... that, to me, says happy client.
Load More Replies...Not only is that a terrible job but her actual fingers got mangled. The nail artist needs to be reported to the board of health or something. That's dangerous.
Well you have to style it at least a little. I guarantee the first girl's hair didn't look like that without product/tools. I don't think the cut is that bad actually.
You're absolutely correct. 2020, my dumbass self decided to cut her hair short. Without looking into a mirror. Well, let's just say, my looks can range from Selena Gomez-short hair-fabulous to an absolute bull (the animal bull) depending on the angle from which you're looking.
Load More Replies...Hair doesn't just miraculously style itself! If you bring a photo to your stylist, ask them what you need to do to get the look once you have the cut! If you aren't ok doing the work, don't get the cut!
This one can be mostly fixed with styling. The fringe isn't the same but a good blow dry and some product will get closer to the wanted style.
Lots of product. She may not know what to use.
Load More Replies...The same thing happened to me the other day but all I have to do is style it my way and it will be great. In my case it was just the hairdresser straightening it way too much. An easy fix.
A good, professional stylist will tell you out right if you choose a style that just won't work with your hair type. A lot of short and mid-length cuts are going to entail styling as well.
Exactly. A stylist should work with the client and suggest more suitable styles for their hair type and lifestyle, including upkeep.
Load More Replies...Ladies, always beware of professional hair style shots. A large number of the models in these shots are wearing styled wigs, which will always look better and thicker than natural hair. Try to check the parting (it may be hidden!) - if it looks "thick" it's probably a wig and, therefore, your own version will look different.
Pssht. I ordered 4 sweatshirts last month, labelled all the same size, and when they came they were 3 different actual sizes, from child's medium to XXL. What things are labelled as can mean nothing. :/
Load More Replies...I don’t get how a professional could mess up these flame designs, they’re not that hard
"Professionals"...like all the bad tattoos we've seen in this thread, I'm not sure these people are getting anything professionally done.
Load More Replies...Both of the flames are kinda off though, so it wouldn't be a perfect match. However you are right that fling them down would help.
Load More Replies...That's super relaxed hair and the second is probably natural or semi. Of course, one can't expect the same result although the cut style is the same.
Is it just the pattern at the scalp she wanted? I have no idea about this hair type, but can those sections be smoother regardless of the rest of the braids in order to get something close to that pattern? Again I’m a complete moron when it comes to this hair type. Mine is thin and wavy.
She wanted her hair to lay down at the scalp like the first pic...however the first pic is featuring a model who has straightened her hair via a relaxer before braiding. That will give the hair a completely different texture, feel and look. She wanted that look, but did not bother to do the relaxing part first...so her curly-at-the-roots hair will not lay down the same way.
Load More Replies...She’s calling the manager because her hair texture isn’t smooth? Lmao okay Karen.
But it literally lasts for MONTHS, depending on the size of braid. Completely worth it.
Load More Replies...They're too short because the tech messed it up. Those are acrylics.
Load More Replies...Mani cannot change the shape and length of the nail. It’s well done, the Effective is different cause the nails are different
Of course a mani changes the shape of your nail, that's half the point of getting them done. Length is also changed, but only one way.
Load More Replies...Doesn't look bad; maybe the color is a little off,but the main thing is the nails aren't shaped right.
The shape of the nails is similar, the only difference is the length and the colour is slightly brighter in what she got, painting short nails won’t make them grow longer
Yes, the shirt has a totally different cut.
Load More Replies...It’s so much worse this way. It won’t be hemmed properly or cut professionally. I wouldn’t pay a clothing store to make me work.
Load More Replies...The ones on the left are gel and on the right are acrylic. She got this from being cheap.

They look like the tech was in a rush and never even checked while they did the nails for these issues. plus the tip of the nail (the white) is thick thus leaving a visual bump.
The nails on the left look dangerously sharp at the corners 😲
those corners on those nails look like "getting caught on everything" hell
Both look about equally terrible, but the ones to the left looks a lot more terrifying
Same. But I never have understood long nails. More power to the people who can function with them, but the minute my nails extend past my fingertips, I'm hunting the clippers. I just don't have the patience. The ones on the right look more thick and durable, which is a win in my book, lol. What I'm learning from a lot of these posts is I have zero concept of nail fashion 😅.
Load More Replies...I dunno the fakes should at least be in the same style. Those appear to be attached.
Load More Replies...Hint: If there are emojis (especially the fire ones) it's fake.
It's like buying a knockoff Louis Vuitton bag and complaining that it looks cheap.
The nail shape doesn’t look the same and the finish is thick and ugly. I don’t care much for the design either way, but I can see why the poster is complaining.
Load More Replies...Looks perfectly fine to me, only thing different is her nail shape and the fact that a matte top coat wasn’t used
Yeah and therefore not what she asked for. These comments are so annoying.
Load More Replies...the left pic is done with matte polish and the right is not. The left tips are slight flat and the right are pointed, Not the same
So they got almond shaped nails instead of coffin shaped nails then complain? Go to a professional who actually knows what they're doing!
You have to be assertive and open with the artist about exactly what you expect!
That's actually one of the best knockoffs I've seen. Dam complainers!
Yeah, pretty much a little bit off on the color, but that could just be different lighting on the photos. Can't see anything else that's wrong or different
Load More Replies...I have to say this. Buy your size . If you're not curvy, add some curves. This look can be done by her in this outfit.
You’re prettier than the shopped model and you got exactly the same dress, same fit.
I think she’s pulling on the material - meaning it’s too baggy if she doesn’t. But otherwise this is really close and looks good on her.
Yeah I don't get it. It looks better in the second picture.
Load More Replies...It looks the same. She just has a different body type than the model, from what I can see. If she wants the top to separate like that I could be wrong, but I believe there are bras that do that.
I know. How are you supposed to keep the sleeves from slipping down?
Load More Replies...I would give my eye teeth for that fabulous figure. 😁 Better than the models.
Most of these are actually "What I wanted vs. What I was ready to pay for it".
Especially the nail ones! if you want super fancy designs that are difficult, you've gotta pay the going rate for some with experience and skill
Load More Replies...If you buy cheap Chinese stuff online - especially figure-hugging stuff shown on a model with unusual proportions - don't expect them to fit YOUR unusual proportions...
Don't expect them to fit you. Sometimes. When I order American an XL is ok but from china it's an 8x first of all how humiliating is that.
Load More Replies...Look, it has been a long time since I have been in a tattoo shop and it was for others not myself, but they got a whole drawing from the artist, questions answered, an outline the artist would use, etc. It's going to be with you for life, get to know your artist As for the clothing ones, do more diligence when finding sites especially from social media ads. It doesn't matter that they sell Americanized/Western clothing with Kardashian looking models, google their name and look up reviews including from BBB, etc. Is the contact information more than a page, does it include a real address with a company you can find? Etc. You'll start to find a trail that perhaps makes you think twice.
the old adage applies here, if it looks too good be true, it probably is !
Load More Replies...If you're buying a product from a company like Wish, they have no transparency on who is making the products being sold, and no policies in place to ensure the quality of the products or the conditions they are produced in (i.e. child/slave labour, safety of product/materials etc.) Often what happens is that a seller on the site will use photos by legitimate crafters without their permission, then put together a cheap estimation of how the product is actually made. Bernadette Banner on youtube did a breakdown comparing one of her dresses to a knock-off which was sold using her own photographs.
It would be nice to see the price they paid for some of those clothes. Because if that beautiful beaded garment with an intricate pattern and real feathers costs 23 dollars... 😬 I can guarantee it's either a scam or plain labour exploitation. I mean, the cost of the fabric itself would be much more of the price you're paying for the final garment! People, when it's too good to be true, it's probably not true...
Seeing as most people want their tattoos to be unique and meaningful to them, I find it surprising that so many others go "Oh look at that person's tattoo, I want the exact same thing". Besides that, people want the oddest things... o.O
I always say if you want a tattoo have a shirt made with the design on it ! Where it everyday for a month and see if you still want that tattoo !
Load More Replies...Some are scams, but many are people going for the cheap version, or for the bargain. So it should be: what I wanted Vs what I paid for.
At least half of these are people being cheap and wanting to pay 50 for something worth hundreds...
I really dislike all the clothing pics. I'm just so sick of fast fashion, there's everything wrong with it. It's awful from both environmental and human rights point of view. I've seen some rise in buying second hand etc. for these reasons, but I wish we could get faster back to buying less but much more expensive and excellent quality clothes that we would take a good care of. Learning basic sewing skills etc. that would enable most people to fix anything that breaks etc. & taking pride and joy from maintaining something that serves you well instead of constantly wanting something new.
