Be careful of what you post online, because it can always come back at you like a boomerang. This advice is older than the internet itself, but still, many people think it won’t happen to them.

Think again! There’s even an entire subreddit known as “Clever Comebacks” dedicated to responses and comments so witty and so savage that they roasted the barbecue out of the OP. Some comebacks are not just ‘oh snap’ but rather ‘oh smack,’ and they’re just totally hilarious.

Below we selected some of the most clever and funny comebacks screenshotted and shared on this community, so pull your seat closer and upvote the best ones as you go. After you’re done, be sure to check out our previous features with clever comebacks here, here and here.

I don't think they buy and sell Christians. I think you find them lying around outside liquor stores, gay bars, etc, looking for people to harrass. You just scoop them up.

Scientifically, his little "survey" here is completely biased and designed to provide the answer he wants. And he also doesn't say "flood proof" - which is a bigger real problem than earthquakes - which you are never going to "proof" -

Not only is he not wrong, he is 100% right, and Americans who think they have more "rights" or "freedoms" than other nations are kidding themselves completely. The "right" to work more hours, for less money, with basic healthcare dependent on that job, no guaranteed vacation, no parental leave, and the risk of being shot dead in a shop or cinema or on the street because a Republican governor decided "permitless carry" would likely get him re-elected. Americans are absolutely f*cking oppressed and denied all kinds of basic rights but they've been brainwashed by their flag-worship and Pledge of Allegiance so some of them will keep defending their own oppression. It's absolutely astonishing.

I really, really want to understand this mentality that I hear from some American’s mouths - that other countries don’t have “rights” and don’t have “freedom”. I saw an interview, recently, with some big wig, political person who was involved in Trump’s campaigning, an intelligent sounding, educated person, claiming that in Australia we “don’t even have freedom”. To what are they actually referring? I really genuinely would like to understand what they think they are trying to say.

First up, you have to understand it's not rational, and these statements are made to appeal to people's emotions and to their "patriotism" (which translates to blind allegiance in their minds), so looking too hard for facts and logic is not the way here. That said, those statements about Australia made recently were referring to the lockdowns and other covid restrictions which were more stringent in Aus than many other places and certainly more than any state in the USA. The sub-group of people that sees "freedom" as "my right to do anything I like and take no responsibility" likes to tell others that group rules, like lockdowns, masking, contact tracing, etc, are all horrible losses of freedom; what they really mean is that it inconveniences them. In that particular example they also made up a bunch of BS about how the "Australian military was enforcing lockdowns" etc to make Australians sound oppressed and victimized. Most of their stories rely on outright lies and half-truths.

"It's a choking hazard!!" Maybe parents should open the eggs for their kids and take the toys out before giving it to them, then.. better yet, do what Canada does and just don't give them to three year olds who are unsupervised.

What's up with American muppets thinking the rest of the world has no rights? Just off the top of my head, employees here can take a sick day any time they want and relax while you need to jump through fiery hoops for that and may still get fired for it. Is that the freedom I should want? I think not!

They have been fed myths for literally decades about American Exceptionalism, and they have been kept to a 40-hour (usually much more) work week with no guaranteed vacation to keep them both exhausted and HOME. If you have 2 weeks off a year - and feel lucky to get it - you spend it sleeping, or visiting grandma at Thanksgiving; you don't jaunt off to Europe or South America or Oceania and discover that those places have all the freedoms you have PLUS universal healthcare, more time off, more worker rights, etc. Oh, and it's also code for "I wanna have a gun" because that's another myth they like to tell themselves - that somehow a "well regulated militia" means Uncle Bobby being a twat, and that their Glock will enable them to fight off a "tyrannical government". Oh, and they don't know what tyranny is either. Basically it's a can of worms.

Though die hard Americans love to tout freedom in the USA we are not as free as the UK. Not by a long shot. But it's a lie your basic die hard American tells themselves and yells because that's all they know. They have narrow minds. You're free as long as you're rich, white, and have political connections. Wish the white minorities or working class would get this through their heads. I envy some European countries because they give their workers better pay, less risk of burnout due to paid time off and personal days, and paid maternity plus paternity leave. Scadanavian coutries have the best system. Freedom to create your own 3 to 4 day work week and still have plenty left over after the bills are paid so they have the freedom to take care of their families and be more present in their kids lives. But these countries never tout freedom because they respect it as a human right. Imagine the freedom of not working yourself to death to make a capitalist rich.

Ugh the gun thing is sad but true in some states. These states do not require the background check, or a safety certificate, or firearm registration, or a firearm license, and there is no 10 day wait period to pick up a newly purchased firearm. Almost anyone can literally walk in and walk out with a gun in those states. And many allow purchase at 18, not 21. I told a guy from Arkansas about these laws in other states and he got super angry. Like scary angry. It was pretty eye-opening about the mentality of those “you can take my guns over my dead body” types of people. Anyway, it’s a problem with no solution in sight

Idiots with guns are scary - but short tempered areseholes looking for a quick way to solve all their problems, aka get back at the barista who was out of his favouite sprinkles, are a far more terrifying, because they don't stop shooting after the first bang.

I remember the Republicans passing laws to make it illegal for doctors to tell patients when they are being sicked by water from fracking chemicals. For people in some coastal states to plan for water levels rising or admit that it's happening. For a beef processor to certify their beef was not fed cow brains. And much, much more. That's some freedom, there.

Now it looks like if your Dad rapes you and you get pregnant, you MUST keep it because it is such a precious life! Women will not wear a mask but they will be forced to bear unwanted children and happily sign on with the GOP to force other women to do the same. Hypocrisy! If they believe in fetal personhood. Empty the orphanages and foster homes today! Take them into your homes. Love, feed and educate those 'precious babies'. Grrrr!

you do have "the right" to unpasteurized cheese... you don't have the right to SELL it, as a liability and food safety issue. Nobody has ever banned making your own unpasturizeed dairy products from your own milch cow, goat, or sheep, in the US. Whereas we DO have actual rights, as opposed to the UK... a tacit admission these liberties are NATURAL and INHERENT, and the government is denied any ability to interfere, whereas the UK (and most of Europe) has PERMISSIONS that are CALLED "rights"... which are literally permissions GRANTED, subject to being revoked or withheld on an individual or group basis for no legitimate reason that can be refuted by their courts, beyond "tha gubmint decided so"... including the right to seek medical care, once your own NHS has decided "it's not fiscally viable", as the Alfie Green case demonstrated.

Years later, we're all okay, but seriously, if this wasn't so f'd up, we'd all have had probably better and more loving lives. That's 6 of us just in this one paragraph.
