I feel like I'm missing something. This isn't that bad. Some people need to recieve their full pay for the week and since the holiday is unpaid you end up taking home less money. So they give you the option-Or in this case it's automatic unless you tell them not to- to use holiday pto. so if you want to get paid, you use your paid time off. That's pretty standard for hourly workers. Granted it would be nice if they simply got paid for the holiday but alas it's walmart... you don't automatically get paid for holidays with a lot of big companies.

It's crazy how people feel entitled to get free stuff, and they don't understand that other people have to earn a living. I had an online business when I was a student to pay for my studies since we weren't allowed to have a job, and people would very often insult me because I was selling my work and not giving it for free (it was custom content for a video game at 5$ for one month of unlimited downloads you can't do cheaper than that)
