Unfortunately, yes. I know, it is very terrible. I don't know who let me dye my hair black when I am naturally not that and when I asked the hairdresser back then to make my hair "more fluffy" she actually backcombed the s**t out of my hair, so when I walked out of that salon I looked like a twice divorced soccer mum named Karen. When I was home I tried to comb the really horrible hairspray structure out of it and that was what was left.

I'm a teacher and I'm 35. I've been mistaken for a pupil so many times by school personnel. The oldest kids in primary school are 14, maybe 15. Last year I was told off for using my phone while I was asking my gynecologist for prescription for contraceptive pill.

My middle school band teacher was all of 5' tall and wore her hair in what would now be called a "messy fade" style. We were all entering the packed classroom one day, and a classmate of mine was using the "gently push people out of the way because I am big and imposing" technique to get through. He did it to her, and she spun around and gave him what-for! LOL! If only I had made a video...

Like my younger brother. Unbelievable he is over 30. But then on my good days people assume I am just 25 when in fact more than a decade older. But I think this is the new normal. So, when someone has a younger biological age, it means not only do they look younger, but they are, in practical terms, biologically younger. The saying "age is just a number" is particularly true in the context of chronological age. Take a look around, and you'll see evidence of this.

Serious question, most places used to have minimum height requirements for police. How'd he manage to pass, or are they super lax now? Actually I'll answer my own questions, looks like they've removed height requirements (here at least) as long as you pass the physical aptitude requirements.

I am not defending police violence or racist acts, but in this case, the police were chasing violent men described as “Polynesian men with dark skin, average builds.” The police, combing the neighborhood, doing their jobs to protect, saw a male standing in a front yard who met the description. They were in a dangerous, high adrenaline situation. How were they to immediately determine, with 100% accuracy, that this person was 1. a kid, 2. in their own yard? Would you rather they have just turned around and went the other way without checking? They couldn’t take the chance. Downvote me if you want, but a lot of times, our police force is just doing their best under awful circumstances. Yes, some are racist pigs doing inexcusable things, but most do a good job protecting the public.

There are a lot more “Black-on-Black” crimes than there are cops killing Black people. US Dept of Justice , Office of Justice Programs states that with regards to the shortened lifespan of Black males, “In about 80-90% of the cases, the Black victim was killed by another Black,”. I think it really confuses people when young-ish women let their hair be gray instead of dyeing it. I think this woman is probably in her 40's, but the gray hair (OLD!) plus tattoos (YOUNG!) is to much cognitive dissonance for people.

There was a trend a while ago (not sure it's still happening) of young adult females (teens/early 20s) dyeing their hair silver and greyish. That can't have helped the confusion

My great-grandfather signed up age 12 (they almost certainly guessed he was underage but turned a blind eye). Obviously he lived, or I wouldn't be here, but there were many not much older than him who didn't make it.

If people want to send pictures of themselves that’s fine but to harvest pictures from tinder or elsewhere is just wrong. Just imagine being that person casually scrolling through this site and then boom their photo is there with people mocking or otherwise negatively commenting on their appearance. Not cool

My coworker just found out I have a 13 year old and mentioned how tough it must have been being a teen mom...I just turned 43. Wear sunscreen, don't smoke, and moisturize.

Had an interesting conversation with HR Director of one company. Over her carrier she had interviewed many people, some of which she could not indicate gender or age. Age would be ok, it was enough to check CV, but gender was a pickle, as she admittedly did not know how to address the person (Mr. or Mrs.) without insulting (names were gender neutral as well).
