30 Times The True Gold Was Hidden In The Post Replies, As Shared On “Successful Ratios” Twitter Page
When you think about it, Twitter is one of those social media platforms that truly reflects life. People over there laugh, cry, blare their outrage, and find reasons to unite. However, it’s also the place where typing 280 characters can lead to an argument with half of the world and provoke an avalanche of razor-sharp remarks.
If you’ve ever scrolled through your Twitter feed, you probably came across the word “ratio” at least once or twice. According to Merriam-Webster, “ratio” took on new life in March 2017 and started referring to tweets that receive more critical or negative replies than likes or retweets. There’s also another meaning — when a reply gets more likes than the original post.
Feeling confused? Just take a look at the Successful Ratios account full of examples of how people’s ridiculous and controversial tweets got ratioed in the best possible way. So get ready to dive into some of the best posts we’ve collected right below, upvote your favorites as you go, and share your thoughts about them in the comments!

I didn't know there were lunar new year gatekeepers as well. Should we let anybody just decide what they can gatekeep? Surely not! WHO GATEKEEPS THE GATEKEEPERS?
As a person of jewish descent I remind everyone that only jewish people are allowed to make references to Jesus in any context whatsoever.
My mom is Chinese and not from China but Panama. Does that mean my mom isn't allowed to celebrate? Guess what, Kassy? We celebrate every lunar New Year with a feast and gift exchange. Stuff it, gatekeeper b***h!
All I read was "blah blah blah me me me me me more righteous than you me me me blah blah blah woke"
Perfect! (I know I am posting too late for anybody to read this, but I need to chime in - these self-righteous people have gone too far. I'm a lifelong liberal who has misgivings about where good intentions are leading us.)
Um, hell. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Hasn't anybody ever told you?

The fact that paper is a verified user makes it seem more fake but still its very funny
Load More Replies...Sorry but China really has no right to be proud about this when meanwhile they're literally putting people in camps
Oh right, America has never been guilty of having detainment camps. /s
Load More Replies...Well, it’s pretty easy for China to control covid, homelessness and prison population when their government can ignore civil liberties, label and detain everyone as a politic enemy then lie about their numbers in prison camps
As opposed to a government who imprison more of their population than any other nation on earth, deny some of their workers even the totally unliveable minimum wage, is happy to allow people to die for want of basic medical needs, etc?
Load More Replies...Twitter is banned in China. The likes must be coming from govt employees themselves for whom twitter is allowed. Second, China's stats are questionable. Here's what a statistician Shamika Ravi said about China's covid infections - "We know of China, what China wants us to know! Unlike other countries, they have fitted the normal distribution - "Henceforth we shall recover at this rate!" - and fixed their mortality rate at 3.34/mil - with absolutely no changes. All other countries show normal fluctuations."
Normal distribution on covid is utter BS for most countries. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries ... I think literally only my country (SA) is close to having something like a normal distribution. The rest, nope.
Load More Replies...And China and Russian are so in bed with one another, China refused to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
America is not first at that either. Currently ranking at 15th place. But definitely better than China, which ranks at 150th place, which happens to be 14 spaces away from the worst.

China, first in Slave Labor, Child Labor, citizens thrown into prison to be never seen again, prisoners body parts sold ensuring the prisoner won't survive the transplant, babies aborted because of the One Child Policy, Technology stolen from everyone else throughout the world, brutal crackdowns on their own citizens! Or First in releasing a Gain of Function BIOWEAPON across the planet destroying 70% of the world economy and millions of deaths, selling pet food and flea sprays that killed 90% of the animals provided it, creating a Social Score to keep citizens compliant and caged, spying on BILLIONS using phone technology and hacking?! Load More Replies...It’s no surprise that Twitter is winning over more and more people each day for being an efficient tool for communication. People over there can quickly share the newest events, call out false information, and spark heated discussions. Yet, not all tweets are equal. Some users send out lousy tweets for the whole world to read without thinking twice. Such opinions often provoke a significant response and receive hundreds of thousands of critical replies, which is proof right there that something went horribly wrong.
Luckily, some people decide to stand up against such nonsense and come up with creative and quick-witted retorts that get a deluge of positive reactions. And no wonder why — seeing a person one-upping someone who’s clearly wrong is a feeling like no other. However, to receive more likes than the original post, your reply has to be razor-sharp to shut down the person arrogantly flaunting their ignorance.
Aw, Clay Higgins clearly though he was being clever (big miss with that word salad) and The Dictionary put it so beautifully! Love it.

When deciding if a country is civilized or not, I look at the civilians, not the government, which the civilians have little control over in some countries. The civilians of Russia are probably more civilized than the US's civilians, but definitely not the government.
Load More Replies...Seriously tired of how much this site glorifies hating the US. Even more than Putin and he's causing a massive war and worldwide tragedy. Still, it is full of hate for the US. I'd buy the whole idea of people saying they're just being honest with their criticisms, but almost no other countries are mentioned and some messed up things happen in all countries of the world people. But still, it's like all hate must be focused on the US and it's just so...tiring. I'm from the US and see all the same problems and am as angered and saddened as everyone, but there are a lot of us TRYING OKAY?? It's going to take a LONG F*****G time to get to where we should be. And there's a lot of GOOD going on too. But all I ever see here is people spewing the same things from the past tying our feet down so we can't move forward and covering us in sh*t we can't do anything about so we're branded forever. Jesus, most citizens really are just like you. We're people too.
Also US wasnt at war with a nation. They were at war (not a good one) with a fringe group that even the nation of Iraq and Afghanistan did not support.
Something tells me 'Red' is the kid that always picked up his toys and went home when he didn't get his way as a child LOL!!!
i agree and i live here (also, trying to convince myself to just go ahead and move somewhere else with internet and bored panda)
Previously, we spoke to Abigail Paul, a standup comedian, improviser, and actress, about humorous comebacks and how people could improve their comedy skills. She was kind enough to share her thoughts on why people leave comments in the first place. “Today’s reader has the advantage over their predecessor that they feel part of the action,” she told Bored Panda.
“In comedy, we are always looking to create content that an audience member will relate to, so when someone leaves a fantastic comment on an article or picture, it helps us feel connected, a little less alone,” Abigail mentioned. “It shows us that someone else, maybe many people, think the same way we do. We take great comfort in not being alone on our ideas.”
I consider that a deadly insult because I heard many people say “good thing you’re pretty because you sure ain’t smart!”
Trump so badly wishes he could be like Putin, Kim, Lucachenko (spelling?), Duterte, etc. He too wants complete control and to rule a totalitarian state with an iron fist. I say F**K those monsters. Trump was actually openly praising Putin for Invading Ukraine. While many may think of Trump as a monster, I see him for the groveling, sniveling, supplicant, boot licking waste of carbon that he is.

I was listening to podcast the other day about the efforts of the west to keep Yeltsin in power. I have clear memories of Blair being elected in the UK with very obvious and huge backing of America. Head of global elections is an actual job title at face book.
Trump really said: "I dint expect this, the people want what the people want" smh
Same way every president we have wants to increase the military budget.
What? I don't underst-.... OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MY GAWD
The standup comedian said that the secret to a successful comment is probably equal parts true and surprising. An unexpected reply “that just has shock value isn’t as highly regarded as one that is embedded in truth.”
“In comedy terms, your picture or article you are commenting on is your setup. Your witty comment is the punchline,” she explained. “There are lots of ways to be funny, but a great punchline will usually have excellent use of wordplay, exaggeration, or make an analogy to something else so the reader can maybe see the topic in a new light.”
If Ukraine was a person, she would be a woman whose husband hits and rapes her and all the neighbors know but do nothing.

Approximately 400,000 of the 620,000 soldiers who died during the US Civil War died from diseases, not wounds. Afghanistan had massive spikes in many communicable diseases including the reappearance of polio during the US occupation because the rural villages lost access to supplies. Dana is pointing out we could have a humanitarian crisis that dwarfs the relocation of refugees if the Ukraine suddenly has 50% of their remaining population all come down with COVID at the same time. Social distancing is impossible, there's no infrastructure to cope with it, and both the people and resources needed to treat the disease are unavailable.
Dana 's post is a prime example of Russian distraction/deflection propaganda. Attempting to change the story away from "Russian Invasion" to "Ukrainian COVID"
Dana sounds a bit trollish in her tone, but a covid outbreak could cripple their ability to defend themselves. They need massive shipments of quality N95 masks because vaccines take a couple weeks to work, if they even could get a massive distribution under these circumstances.
It's actually a good point. If Ukrainians start getting ill enough to be hospitalised there will be no hospitals for them. Also it's going to put an extra strain on countries which host them as refugees. It's actually a really big issue and Christina is a moron.
That's fair enough. If you are dodging bullets and bombs, the last thing you need is to be laid up with Covid. Or worrying about how to get Covid ill people across a border. Covid is still a killer, and if you are dead, you are dead.
I'm black and some of these white "allies" are too much, SMH. It's actually laughable.

We think we see you going to one place and you go somewhere unexpected. Audiences love a twist,” Abigail said, saying that true crime podcasts are a great example.
According to her, leaving a comment and letting out a laugh or two allow us to better bond with other people. “Comedy is the most fun thing humans can share (besides pizza),” she said. “The pandemic has forced a lot of comedy experiences online. It hurt live comedy a lot, but new spaces have thrived online because people need to connect and laugh. The upside is you can find ways to be funny at home in your PJs.”

If you want to improve at writing clever and funny comments online, you need to practice. “Comedy is a skill,” Abigail told us. “The more you write, the better you usually get.” But it’s important “not to get too precious about your work. Notice which clever comments you are writing get lots of likes or replies, and see if you can dissect why that comment is working.”
“If something isn’t working, don’t worry too much about why. A lot of good writing is throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks.” She advised you to focus on what works and try to replicate your own formula. “Also — edit. Are there any words you can take out, but the comment is still really funny? Then do. The more concise you are, the better it is for your reader.”
technically, it's true, she's not free to go round for exemple :p
Lucky for the Queen she's immortal so she has plenty of time to travel the world.
She's surrounded by all her retainers and can''t move a space without everyone else getting out of her way. She only becomes powerful if she's willing to sacrifice some pawns and trust her retainers to invade foreign lands in the "Crown's Name". Regardless, almost all of her time is spent trying to defend her useless family (the king).
Isn't this from when she was sick with covid? Does it mean she was bedridden?
I think it is, but no, she wasn't bedridden - she was quarantined & had to stay in her private apartment.

Wow... So sticking stuff in innocent animals' brain is not good for their health? /s
Sadly, this reminds me of the guy here in my hometown who died very recently while driving his Tesla. The car just quit on the interstate & stopped in the road. Two other drivers couldn't avoid it & hit it. Props to Musk for helping Ukraine, but his cars are total crap. And irresponsibly experimenting on monkeys, or any animal for that matter, is criminal.
I'd take his advice under consideration, make a reasoned analysis, then go heat up some leftover lasagna.

Load More Replies...mate.. you’re on a post about people getting ratio’d
Load More Replies...On the social media platform Twitter, a ratio, or getting ratioed, is when replies to a tweet vastly outnumber likes or retweets. This means people are objecting to the tweet and considering its content bad.
The punctuation made more sense than the tweet. How is ratio...ing? even a verb?
