Oh, the sweetness of sheer unapologetic laziness… Is it just a lack of willpower? Maybe it’s a state of mind, a hedonism-inspired lifestyle, a rebellion of modern kind. All jokes aside, calling someone “lazy” is somewhat an insult, especially in societies where hard work and productivity are valued highly (we’re looking at you, America!).
Having said that, a 2019 Pew survey found that a majority of Americans think people are lazier now than they used to be. But we can all discuss what being dubbed lazy actually means.
For some it's a lack of physical activity, for others it may be lack of will to do even the most routine and boring tasks. And while it’s totally normal to have a brief episode of idleness, if it lasts too long, you’re suddenly playing dangerous games.
So today, we’re diving deep into real-life examples of people succumbing to their laziness, by choice or accident. The result is an uncanny collection of pics that may make you laugh, infuriate you or give you a moment to reflect on your own lazy side.

Multiple Reasons Why You Should Put Your Cart Back And Not Be Lazy
Super frustrating to see this. My dad is a paraplegic due to a car accident. We both nearly died, no exaggeration. This type of c**p happens all the time. I’ve seen two healthy 19 yr old dudes park in a handicap parking space at the bank. Most folks excuses are, “oh I’ll only be one second”. NO ONE is ever just one second. The laziness & sense of entitlement is brewing rampant across the globe. This is not something unique to one race or moral beliefs. It’s a complete lack of common courtesy.
Even if they were just a second, it's not their spot to take, period. So sorry you have to deal with this!
Load More Replies...Just because there are coworkers DOESN’T mean they can help you with everything!
In many european countries you have to insert a coin (1£ or 2 francs, 1 euro etc) so everybody puts the carts back.
My mom told me you had to do that in England for many places. Here in the U.S. Aldi's does that. Yet people still leave them out. Me and my sister used to push them up and get the quarters out and spend them.
Load More Replies...If more stores had a 25¢ refundable charge to unlock carts, this would happen less. When floating carts are along my path to a store I put them in a corral. It’s good karma
Honestly it would need to be a lot more than a quarter for those people
Load More Replies...I am a permanent disabled man due to Cancer. I use crutches and a wheelchair. However I don't use my wheelchair as much as I want to because of people. I am 6'1 but in a chair I am 3ft tall haha. But people apparently never see wheelchairs. I have been run into by carts. I have been run into and they dropped their c**p in me. I have had doors shut in me even if I am behind the person. Now this isn't everyone as some people are super nice. But a majority of people are self centered and don't care to look around them. This guy in the picture I have dealt was the as well. People do not think past their own world. PLEASE DONT BE RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL HUMANS. Think about others and beyond yourself.
I, too am in a chair (I am also blind) and I am always upset when people don't "see" me and will actually collide with me and then will yell at me as if I did something to them. Once, some drunk guy literally sat on my lap and was upset when my husband shoved him off me. What on earth is wrong with people? I have also had people lean on the back of my chair or get mad when I am in the handicapped bathroom stall because they have a child with them. I get it - I had 2 kids with 20 months between them, but I literally have no choice regarding what bathroom stall I can fit in.
Load More Replies...As a full time wheelchair user, yes! Also ignorant people who park on the pavement and in disabled bays with a disabled badge! Thankfully I'm a big believer in karma!
Karma is a lot of rubbish. Example, the paedophile molester Jimmy Savile got away with every nasty thing he ever did. Not called on it once. Hurt a great many people. There are more people than you can possibly imagine getting away with things - murderers, rapists, child abusers, burglars, vandals et al. Why does karma ignore them if it exists? If you hope karma will get back at everyone who has ever done anything bad, you are doomed to disappointment or disconnected from reality.
Load More Replies...I bet it is the same lazy type of c-word that goes to a gym, parks as close as possible to the door because they are working out and drive back.
What kills me is that you know they have to wrestle those carts up over the curb to get them up there. Wouldn't it be easier just to put it back?
In Belgium, we have to put money into the cart. If we want to get it back, we have to put it back in its place
This drives me nuts. In my town people leave the cart in the parking spots. So you have to get out, move them, and then park. So f*****g entitled to expect others to clean after you.
I wanted to beat a woman the other day that walked from a non-handicap spot and put her cart smack dab in the middle of a handicap parking spot.
I used to work for a small supermarket chain, and I know that those who are too lazy to put carts in the spaces in the parking lot where they're supposed to go are not just lazy, they cost the supermarket money by having store employees waste time chasing all over to find carts.
People that typically say that's not my job and expect someone else to do a common courtesy... Yeah
Load More Replies...I see a lot people agreeing with the fact that this is ridiculous and lazy, yet where are those people I see at the stores who do this? Because I see it just as frequently as I hear complaints about it.
I always put my trolly back. And any others I see hanging around. For one, it's good exercise for my hips. I think it's just common courtesy even though I can be as lazy asa cat at other times.
Also a good reason to wrangle an extra cart if you see one and have a minute. Or tidy the cart corral. Or bring in a basket, etc. Generally do a nice thing.
NO! This is why you shouldn't go out of your way to leave the cart on the sidewalk. No one who has to gather the carts cares where they're left, management however does, so stop schilling for them!
Staff are employed to collect trolleys from trolley bays, not the whole car park. Don't make their job harder by leaving them any and everywhere. They only end up collecting them from the wider car park because people are lazy or selfish. People need to think of other shoppers AND be decent to those who have a job to do.
Load More Replies...I have always said not returning the trolly is a litmus test for selfishness.... Given the number of trollies there is either no return bay or this is the US.
Laziness is a handicap too. The lazy should be allowed to park in the blue-line spots too.
In Denmark we put a coin in the shopping cart to get it and when we put it back we get the coin back, so we don’t have this problem
Well, the handicapped want to be treated like everyone else. Isn't that what they fight for?
Wow, you surely haven't misunderstood the message THAT much? Equal access to goods, services, buildings etc - that means organisations and people might have to go out of their way a bit more to make that possible. Equal in outcomes. So, no, that isn't 'what they fight for'. 🙄
Load More Replies...I have NO problem having cars towed from handicapped parking that have no license or placard. Put your freaking carts up!
Absolute a/holes for being so bloody lazy! It's a/holes like this that also park in disabled parking spaces!
This deserves way more up votes. It is sheer laziness. I have difficulty walking and bending, but I ALWAYS make an attempt to put the carts out of way for the next person.
In Denmark we plop in a coin ( 1 - 2$) wen we retrieve it. If we want our coin back we have to put the cart back ...
Some places *cough* walmart *cough* don't place their cart returns reasonably. Some will be right across from the other when one should be further down. When the local Walmart was redoing their parking lot most of the cart returns were moved off crowded to one area.
And even in this case able bodied ppl can push their carts back
Load More Replies...This is A gosh darn Home Depot. This happens at all their locations. It's a combination of a lack of cart attendants, the oversized carts, the huge trucks, and… It's so annoying! People are stuck either blocking the walkway or leaving their cart to roll around in the parking lot. Also the walkway in between the cars is ridiculous and stupid. And those blue carts are not Home Depot carts. Those people are monsters.
Could take them back to the actual shop from where they selected the trolley maybe? Lack of places to leave a trolley or lack of staff to collect them is not a good enough excuse.
Load More Replies...Then take the children with you when you return the trolley - you had them with you while you shopped and pushed the trolley so you can hardly claim to not be able to manage an empty trolley. I've done that in heat, in snow, in torrential rain. I'm disabled and in pain. If I'm capable of shopping with children, I am capable of pushing the trolley back that last stage, sometimes right back to the shop if the corrals are full, and then walking back with my children to my car (after having to temporarily strap them in the car sometimes while unloading). Yes, it is a faff but it's our part of the deal. Insufficient number of cart stalls or not. There are visually impaired people as well as those in wheelchairs trying to get on with their lives and others don't have the right to make their life harder just because they've got children to wrangle. Staff are there to collect trolleys from the corrals, not the whole car park while people make their job harder.
Load More Replies...Laziness can lash out at us at every corner, especially at times when we need to be at our most productive. Think of work deadlines, important meetings and calls, bills to be paid and things to be done. Sometimes it’s little things that we can’t force our bodies to push through– from household chores to dragging ourselves to the gym.
And while we all have brief moments of idleness (which may feel pretty indulgent!), at some point it becomes a genuine problem. So to find out more about what’s actually happening in our minds when we’re lazy, how to cope with it we reached out to two experts: Christine Mitterbauer, a licensed and ICF-approved career, and life coach and serial entrepreneur, as well as Dr. Audrey Tang, a chartered psychologist, media spokesperson and author of multiple books, including "Be A Great Manager Now", "The Leader's Guide to Mindfulness."
People Who Do This Are Just The Worst
If You Have A Gender Reveal Party And Leave Confetti Everywhere For People To Pick Up, F**k You
Did She Purchase Or Put Back Any Of The Books? Of Course Not
I hate people who do that! I am always the person to put their books back when I find them in the wrong place
Dr. Tang argues that laziness becomes a problem when you are either no longer contributing fairly to what you are receiving and requiring others to take the strain (with little thought to their wellbeing and efforts), or it is standing in the way of your own achievement of personal goals and desires.“In the latter case (and sometimes in the former) - this can speak to a lack of motivation, and, sometimes, the lack of desire to do anything can be a symptom of depression. In which case it can be helpful to ask yourself why this is happening,” she explained.
I Pulled The Foil Off Of This To See What Was In It, And It Was Empty. And Still In The Fridge
Don't Even Get Me Started On The People That Test Spray Paint Like This
This Is Embarrassing
So here are some important questions to ask yourself, according to Dr. Tang: “Think of a goal, have you got it?” and next, “Think of all the things you need to do to achieve it.”
“Small manageable chunks, with focus – you should be achieving that in no time – go you!”
“Seems straightforward, doesn’t it?” Dr. Tang asks. “And this is a goal you’ve had for some time, plus those steps are probably quite easy…”
Dr. Tang invites us to think about everything we did yesterday–”how many of those things contributed TO your goal or simply distracted you from it (Netflix binges, scrolling mindlessly through social media, any psychodramas you got caught up in)?”

Driving Over Graves Because They’re Too Lazy To Walk
According to Dr. Tang, our brains are amazing since they are capable of so much. “And yet we often apply their energy and drive ineffectively due to habit, laziness, or simply because we don’t know any other way.”
It’s important to realize that it is not the big choices that we make that shape our lives the most – “whether to buy that house, whether to take that job, whether to get into a relationship with that person… because they are clearly defined and they have an exit strategy,” she said and added that “it is the little choices you make every day that really make up who you are.”

We Call This One, "The Landlord Supremo"
This Idiot Hit Me While He Was Pulling Out Of A Gas Station, He Said He Didn't See Me
Dr. Tang gave an example: “Do you have the apple instead of the donut? Do you take 5 minutes for yourself, or do you say 'yes' to every person who asks? Do you choose to speak kindly to you, or do you berate yourself for 'just not being good enough?'”
According to the award-winning book author and spokesperson, “if we can focus on making as many little healthy choices as possible, we’ll be living the life we want, rather than seeking motivation to move towards it.”

Actually this looks like one of those idiot car parks with the pillars right where you want to open your door. They leave almost no room to get down the side of the car with shopping. You might say that she should have gone in nose first so the tailgate is facing the aisle, but frequently you then can't get out of the driver's door for the pillar or next car. This gets worse as car get bigger. Car parks built 20 years ago and often no longer suitable for purpose.

I feel like a lot of these could be clearly be explained and are just posted without context for rage bait. Also as someone with a disability who has done a few of the things in the list it honestly hurts that default assumption is lazy for things that could clearly be caused by disabled people trying to live in an abled world.
Well, that just reaffirmed my belief that humans are an ongoing mistake...
There was some sad examples of laziness, that I almost forgot how good it is, that humans are lazy. That gets us to invent washing machines, vacuum cleaners, lawn movers to use instead of tubs for washing by hand, brooms and scythes for the grass.
Okay but some of these comments were much worse, a lot of them could be understood in context I think
I can't understand the logic behind hanging poop bags on trees and fences and I see this everyday, so this is pretty common practice. Why? If you're really too lazy to take a bag with you, just leave the c**p on a ground and rain will wash it off. I'm not saying people should leave the poop, but putting it in the bag, and hanging it on a fence is extra work, and it's even more disgusting.
I didn't see your opinion anywhere, just this post. I, personally, don't downvote a differing opinion, just if someone is utterly being vile. BTW, I upvoted this post. Tried to negate some other àsshole!! :)
