Consumers want to understand, intuitively, how to work the product. If they can simulate this in their heads, they can imagine using it, and if they can imagine using it, they can imagine owning it."

It was made extremely popular by Queen Victoria as mourning jewelery but it has been used and carved by people in the Bronze Age, Roman era, Viking era etc.. to me it looks like a Victorian amateur carved plaque in Whitby Jet but could be an earlier thing. Initially, the ear iron was a metal bracket to hold the caps in place. It was worn over an under cap and a luxurious over cap was attached to it. Over time, the ear iron grew into a showpiece. Interesting. At first it was neat knowing what something was until I realised I was showing how antique I am. Never mind, it's cool to know stuff and learn something new. At the same time. 🤔😉
I actually got a handy tip from one of these lists. There was a picture of what looked like a big plastic syringe with a blunt rubber tip, and it turned out to be a device for giving pills to unco-operative cats - you fit the pill into the rubber holder, then quickly stick it into the cat's mouth and push down on the syringe to dispense the pill down the throat. Our small dog needed daily medication and hiding it in his food wasn't working, so you basically had to stick your entire hand in his mouth to get him to swallow the damn thing. So of course my first thought was "man, I could really use one of those". So I bought one and it really did the trick!
