30 Christmas Trees From 30 Cities Around The Globe: Vote And Choose The Most Beautiful One
The Ultimate Decider!
Christmas traditions vary from country to country, family to family, but one of the things that rarely changes is the Christmas tree. Today we have a list of 30 Christmas trees from different cities and even though they are all beautiful in their own way, we’re trying to find which one will be crowned as the most beautiful by the competent jury of Bored Panda readers.
Will you be strategic and upvote for your city’s or country’s tree (or even downvote the opponents?), will you play nice and upvote every single one of them, or maybe you’ll just look through all of them and decide that the best one isn’t on the list? If the latter is the case, don’t be shy - drop it in the comments and let the other readers see more of that magical Christmas tree extravaganza you have going on in your city.

Kyiv, Ukraine
Something tells me that this photo is pre-invasion. Hopefully one day soon, Ukraine can celebrate Xmas like this again.
I dunno... Kiev is not Mariupol (sp?). It's not like they CAN'T have a Christmas tree, and the benefit of soothing so many souls is incalculable.

If 400-500 years old castle/building would be reason for disqualification, none of the pictures from Europe would be allowed

I went to one in Vancouver and it was so cool. With the sad news of the deaths at one in German recently, I noticed how close it was to the traditional German one.

Always my favorite! The 2024 tree it has a great back story. .... https://www.today.com/life/holidays/2024-rockefeller-christmas-tree-origin-story-rcna179306 ... There are also much better pictures. rockefelle...ad5c9f.jpg
I know the tree will be used to build homes by Habitats for Humanity when they take it down. Win - Win!
Lisbon, Portugal
Out of so many pictures you chose one where you can barely see the tree?
Washington, D.C.
Is this the current one? I Like this (and New York's) SO much more than the traffic-cone trees that had become popular in American major cities lately. (UPDATE: might be a very old picture.)
In DC there is one big tree and a smaller one for each state in a circle around it. The state trees are decorated in the theme of things specific to that particular state. This isn't a very good picture. It's an amazing display.

I wonder if it's at Federation Square. It's not as impressive as ones I've seen there in the past. It's not a great photo but here is my family standing in front of one in 2007. nl-676a8c4a00f0a.jpg
Yes, looks like Fed Square. But a bit up from Flinders.

Look closely!:I upvoted because this isn't a tree; it seems to be an entire hillside!
It is! I just read about it, biggest in the world!

Why are people down voting these? They all look nice, including this one. Voting for your favorite doesn't mean you have to down vote the rest
Mobey Drunk, in my case, it's because I do not like them. I've upvoted the ones I love, done nothing on the ones that I think are 'okay', and downvoted the ones I do not like. - - - In doing so, I've realised, I like actual trees, not cone shapes. I'm not a fan of different coloured lights, and Christmas trees photograph best after dusk.

It's quite exquisite; I guess people don't like seeing something as traditional as a tree replaced by a mere conical artwork. I agree, but I'd rather see this than a tree completely obscured by a rigid cone of lights.
It's not a Christmas tree strictly speaking, it's the decoration of the department store called LE PRINTEMPS in Paris

It's quite obviously a fairy tale tree. I like it.

Vatican City, Vatican
This is an over 200-year-old fir cut down in Trento in spite of a protest carried out to save it + a petition to the Pope signed by over 50 thousands of people. People were asking the Pope not to agree to this glorious tree being cut down but he ignored them. They also proposed a great (imo) alternative: an artistic tree created from the trees fallen during last months/weeks of hurricanes/gales/storms. To no avail.
I'm gonna guess that every real tree here is over 200 years old. But if the pope slapped a mosquito, they'd complain about his cruelty to animals. My problem is that it's the Charlie Browniest tree on the page; I think it was going to die of malnutrition in about a week if it weren't cut down. This year's is so much prettier; I hope the pope learned that people will try to s**t on no matter what the Vatican does.

The snide comments towards the tree in Trafaglar Square annoys me. It's a gift from Norway to the UK for the help in WWII. People clearly have no idea how much effort is involved in chopping down and transporting a tree that size from Norway to the UK on a boat. It's a real tree from a real forest that's taken decades to grow to that size (the one being used this year is 57 years old) and it's meant to look like that. The lights are draped vertically in the traditional Norwegian style. But yeah, let's make fun of the tree and call it 'sad' because it doesn't look like the farmed, mass produced trees you see everywhere else.
God that's impressively bad. Kept scrolling to find London and... there it is. Where it belongs. Toward the bottom of the list.
Norway gifts a tree every year to say thank you to the UK for the help they got in the Secomd World War. So,e years the tree is stunning, some years it’s a bit sorry looking. This year’s is one of the better ones we’ve had for a while.

I don't know how things work over in Germany, but in my area we have two seasons, winter and construction. Sometimes they overlap.
Load More Replies...A lot of these pictures are from so far away, the trees are actually hard to see well. But a green tree made with love and hope and tradition together is alwsys beautiful.
Agreed. But in some cases (Rio, Dallas, Dortmund), it makes you wonder whether there's a point to having a tree under the cone of lights.
