It must be Sterner's building in Brussels, designed by Ernest Ledune. Or at least inspired from it.

Well , this isn't modern design. Art nouveau is from the turn of the 20th century.

Ali, who created 'Call It Design,' told Bored Panda that there are a few possible reasons why the photos he shares resonate with so many people. From providing a unique perspective to focusing on quality.

"Perhaps the photos I curate offer a unique perspective on home decor that people haven't seen before," he mused about the idea that he might have a particular knack for finding photos that are visually stunning.

Meanwhile, the posts themselves are high-quality and well-composed, meaning that many internet users enjoy them. "Quality content tends to attract more followers and engagement on social media," Ali put it simply.

What's more, the founder of the page believes that he helps inspire people when it comes to decorating their own homes. "My followers may appreciate the tips and tricks I post, or they may simply enjoy looking at the beautiful photos I share," he told Bored Panda.

The page itself caters to a niche audience of people who are very interested in home decor. By focusing on their interests, the curator slowly but surely built up a loyal following over the years. Something else that has helped lead the Instagram page to success is how consistently Ali posts new photos. He's reliable, and his fans know this.

Meanwhile, Bored Panda was interested to hear some of Ali's thoughts on what he believes separates quality modern designs from the rest. In his opinion, what truly matters is functionality, simplicity, attention to detail, and timelessness.

"A modern design should not only look beautiful, but it should also be functional and serve a purpose," he pointed out that some designs that look good might be very impractical or even uncomfortable to use. Meanwhile, the modern design philosophy often emphasizes simplicity and minimalism, as seen in the use of 'clean' lines and a lack of clutter.

"A well-designed space should feel open and uncluttered, with each element having a purpose and contributing to the overall aesthetic," Ali explained to Bored Panda. He added that the right attention to detail can go a long way in improving a design's quality. For instance, designers might carefully consider what materials and colors to use.

Finally, good design is something that is timeless. "A well-designed space should not only be beautiful and functional now," the founder of 'Call It Design' said. "It should also stand the test of time and continue to look relevant and modern for years to come."

Looks exactly like the view from my Aunt's kitchen window. She has managed over the years to buy every single plot of land (35 acres each) surrounding her 35 acre farm so her 360 views are pristine. The best thing about visiting there is that unless you leave the property, you won't see another person or car the entire time and nothing is more refreshing.

That's what I loved about the farm I grew up on.. you could spend your entire day outside roaming the fields and never see another human not once.. ahh the peace.. unfortunately when my dad and his dad passed my 2 aunts got 2/3 of the property and the other third my dad's is split between my 2 brothers and myself.. and it's a majority rules kinda thing, so they decided without me to give it to my aunt's, who have always told me I am not my dad's kid, and refused to believe the paternity results...I am the only person out of my brothers and my aunt's who actually lived on the property. My dad was a single father and the best father, it was just him and me. My papaw lived on a portion of the property, my dad and I on the rest. I lived there from age 3 -17 and would go see my dad every other weekend just to hang out, he would come to see me and my kids every week. My brothers only came around to borrow money. My aunts well they are just toxic. I really miss home.. I hope one day to be able to return.

The mastermind behind the ‘Call It Design’ project is Ali Traibiz. He aims to inspire people to “connect and make a positive impact through design,” and keeps an eye on the pulse of modern design trends worldwide.

At the time of writing, the Instagram page had already grown to have a following of 104k people. The page has continued to expand over the years. Back in 2020, the account had just 55k followers.

During a previous interview with Bored Panda, Ali, the founder of the page, shone some light on the entire project and the inspiration behind it.

“I started getting into modern design when I wanted to renovate my 1-bedroom apartment," he told us earlier.

“I myself try to avoid the extra fluff, that's why I started digging into modern design, and appreciating its simplistic and unique look,” the founder told Bored Panda, adding that what draws people to modernism is the desire to express themselves through simplicity.

If the view is the major selling point, then why all the busy and ill-fitting / uncoordinated patterns on the seats and floor? Why not neutral or calm solid colours?

This is around Denali. If you get a chance to take this trip to Fairbanks, go to the rear gangway to smell the greenery, the scents are more memorizing than the view but few go outside to experience it.

Good design comes from communication between the vision of the designer, as well as the needs of the client. There has to be balance and harmony between the two sides, otherwise, what you’ll end up with is utter chaos.

For instance, no matter how great an interior designer might be, if they’re left to do whatever they want to do unchecked, some of their designs might become too detached from reality. What you might end up with are user-unfriendly design decisions that are more akin to art than livable, pleasant interiors.

On the flip side, if the client is given free rein to micromanage the designer, you won’t get anything good either. Unless they have very strong backgrounds in art, architecture, design, or construction, odds are that the client might not know how to create an atmosphere of unity between all the disparate elements of their home. That’s what you need designers for—they look at interiors holistically, elevating the space, and combining materials, shapes, and colors into one pleasant whole.

It’s not just communicating with clients that designers ought to value. They also need to keep open lines of communication with the actual contractors who turn their plans into reality. No matter how amazing your blueprints or your visuals are, things will go wrong!

Sooner or later, someone will mess up a detail or improvise if they don’t have access to the resources they need while crafting the interior. Your plans need to be very specific, so there’s little-to-no vagueness there.

As a designer, you can avoid some of these pitfalls by having some in-depth knowledge about construction processes and how materials are used. Not only that, but you also have to keep up-to-date with current trends.

It also helps if you know how to talk to and motivate the contractors so that they don’t cut corners. The best pros will spot problems in the making and pivot to solve them as they pop up. It’s a very involved process, but if you want to be the best at what you do, you have to be willing to go the extra mile.

You really want a fern hanging that low above your couch? Ferns are suicidal. They tend to grow to the side with more space which means all the weight is on that side. I've had ferns falling from windowsills because of this. Don't tempt it!

Back when we tried to give our cats cat beds, we had one cat who would regularly snuggle her butt down and pee in them. Usually while looking us dead in the eye. So we stopped buying them cats beds that the one cat would turn into plush litterless litter boxes.

There are a lot of people who have an incredible personal library. There are people for everything that exists. Why are we so weirded out by trivialities like that? That’s a good thing, someone can do what they like and are inclined to, and who needs solutions for certain whatever will find something that will solve your “problem”.:

It's a nice display area, but those people really don't have anything much to display. And there are not plate grooves for that top set of plates. Old china cabinets had lines in the shelves so you could set up plates, and they wouldn't slip and fall.

As if putting a normal tree together is not struggle enough, let's just take a ton of books and try to staple them on each other, trying to make it look like a tree. Just because it used to be a tree, doesn't mean it should become an abomination of a tree :/

The faucet is by far the most used element of any kitchen. Why would you hide it and make it harder to use? If the kitchen is for show only, why not. If it’s meant to be used, it would stay open and this would appear as a gadget.

Donkeywheel, you're obviously far too sensible and practical to design fancy kitchens. It's a stupid design, and the sink itself is far too small to be of much use, so the whole thing is pointless.
