OMG, I've never heard of this, but I wonder if a Mama bear would accept another bears offspring? Mama was killed or perhaps had triplets and is struggling to feed them. I live in Alaska, been here over 57 years, but I don't recall ever hearing of this has been attempted!

Somewhat explains the bat I found trying to do the breast stroke in our pool, adjacent to a mango tree. Think we managed to nurse it back to sufficient health to fly. Hung out (literally!) in the also adjacent coconut tree for a bit, then disappeared. FYI bees, not bats, pollinate the coconut tree...

Take regular breaks when working with it. I made my daughter a hat in this colour and a pale yellow, it properly effs up your eyes. After a bit your eyes see it as green and other colours look off. Rest your eyes regularly.

If these are part of the group saved from the medical testing breeders, nothing to do with the testing but because the breeder was breaking animal care laws - the breeders were neglecting and mistreating the dogs.

Oh yes. When I was in high school I spent two weeks working in a lab at a hospital (my mom’s friend was the head of the neurology department and at the time I wanted to be a pathologist). There were stacked cages of dogs in the basement and they wanted nothing more than to come out to play. The monkey noises were equally disturbing.

Guys, relax. I'm pretty sure the ladybug is just fine. I think it's just leaving footprints in condensation-aka moisture on a surface. And you can see the reflection of the outdoors in that surface. Ladybug will fly away if it wants to. It's fine.

Are you in North America? I’d suggest coming to Banff of Jasper national park here in Canada in the wintertime. Once you get a bit out of town, you can see that kind of thing all the time. Jasper is a lot cheaper than Banff, but it’s more geared to us locals so you might not have as many familiar American conveniences.

There's been an issue at a nursery here in Australia recently, a whole army of koalas keeps breaking into this place and eating thousands of dollars worth of eucalypt seedlings. There used to be a big proper tree that they all ate from, but they ate all of it and it died! It's quite a funny story actually, there's just such a high density of koalas in that spot (might be because that's the only place left for them...)

I'll answer a few questions. This is in Oregon, USA. The tree is healthy, stable and robust. The neighbors all like it. The house on the main trunk property is perfectly fine; any leaning seen in the picture is distortion from the wide-angle lens used to capture the whole of the tree in the shot.

They may have been expecting the lightning flashes in a storm and set the camera to continuous shooting, where the camera takes dozens of photos in a very short space of time.

The duration of the lightning flash is shorter than the sync speed of the shutter resulting in incomplete exposure of the entire frame and this image. Many cameras it is about 1/200 1/250 of a second. Physics and photography.

Camera shutter? No. The split is straight and has a partial blur on the edge, so it's edited in Photoshop. I am not saying it's fake. Maybe they captured two photos, one with lightning and one normally, and then showed a comparison. They had to make the split blurry because the colour value changed after enhancing the exposure.

I have a toad that lives in my window well. (He's not trapped, he can come and go as he pleases). So I set up a cute little habitat for him, which includes a toad house and a small pond. I feed him dried mealworms and he sometimes taps on the window to get my attention. He hibernates during cold weather and then comes back when it gets warm. I always start looking for him when Spring comes and it's exciting when he shows up. There have been frogs and toads who return every year going on at least 10 years now. It's like my own personal terrarium. :)

When I first brought this picture up I thought is was a mouth with teeth in it of some kind.
There seems to be no limit to what we can photograph, ranging from high-quality landscapes to impressive wedding portraits and everything in between! And it can be argued that sometimes chaotic photos are the best. Imagine you are on a bachelorette trip with friends. Your bestie suddenly falls in the pool. You would want to capture her messy hair and peculiar expression rather than asking her to put on a fake smile.

Given that this looks like the frog is stuck in amplexus, and amplexus is an involuntary reflex that is part of frog mating, well he is certainly riding it in a certain way. The frog and fish are both stuck in a very awkward position, because this is not good for the fish due to the weight and the frog can't voluntarily let go.

I don't know if it was the same berry (but I think so) - but near my Grandmother's house in California there were trees with little red berries and the blackbirds / etc would get drunk and fly into windows and such. I never saw them on the ground like this - just flying around weird. but it could have happened - as I was just a young boy back then.

Milkweed sap is toxic to pets and horses and can lead to cardiovascular events/problems. California actually banned and outlawed the sale of Non-Native Tropical Milkweed in Marin County in 2022, because it is toxic to Monarch Butterflies as well as extremely invasive.

Harvey dumped over 50 inches of rain within a week. That overflowed the many bayous and rivers that normally handle a great deal for the Houston/connected areas, which covers slightly less land than Massachusetts and is not a New England state size of pavement. Harvey was just a devastating storm that didn't stop. No ground can absorb 4 ft of water in a week. Feel free to create a leak proof 4 ft wall around your property and fill it with water to test that, though.

It looks like the wrong time of year for shearing. That looks like an Autumn fleece, about 40mm of growth. Sheep fleeces grow much faster in the Summer than in Winter.

Well my sisters whatcha call it... horse riding teacher? Well one of the few times she went without a helmet the horse got spooked and threw her off, she landed with her head against a stone and died much too young... a tragedy but a helmet could have saved her! This is literally all of the NYC subway system. You just don't get a signal underground. So everyone reads books or on their kindle or whatever. It's actually really nice to be in a quiet subway car in the morning where everyone is reading on the commute. Very calming! Public transit means the commute is actually very chill and relaxing!!

The tattoo on the top of the hand needs to be a little more purple and cover the entire top and the nails to be almost see through, that's what my Moms hands looked like before she died. Her skin was paper thin and the IV'S they had in her completely blew her veins, especially on her right hand. She worked so damn hard her entire life and was really self conscious at times because of how her hands looked because of her veins. To me they were absolutely beautiful and I would give ANYTHING to hold her hands again.
