It’s no secret that becoming a doctor is a long and arduous process, filled with sleepless nights, endless hours spent studying, and quite often, buckets and buckets of tears shed. But it’s important to remember that (aspiring) doctors are only human, so we need to cut them some slack. And show them some memes.
Today, we want to share some funny images, courtesy of the ‘Medical Doctors’ Instagram account, that might provide a much-needed giggle to medical professionals out there. While the name of the account suggests that the memes are dedicated to doctors, I’m sure others in the field will also appreciate them, so if you’re one of said ‘others,’ continue scrolling and enjoy the few calm minutes before you have to go back to work or studying.

Cringe. Mega cringe. He was asking marital status and you didn't understand the question. Definitely not my doctor.
I went out to dinner with a friend. "tacos or burgers?"he asked. "Tuesday"I said.
days of the week are not a type of food. Dr IS a title.
Load More Replies...to me it just seems like they broke up on good terms, idk why you’d think it’s cringe
Load More Replies...Sure he was, but now it is about strong, independent women 😤. And dont you dare not admiring her for it!

Load More Replies...You go Dr. I am so VERY proud of you. This should be a poster on every girl's wall to show then they can be whatever they want to be from ditch digger to teacher to aerospace engineer.
Both should be free because they benefit public health. That should be the metric.
It IS the metric. That's why murica is against it. xD
Load More Replies...Both should be free if needed. Yes s*x is more of a choice but also a basic human need. Don't tell poor people to abstain, that is inhumane and also won't happen. But as a society you have an interest in not having stds spread or uncountable babies being born where they are not wanted.
Or women pressured into having unprotected s*x any more than is already the case.

Every year, thousands of people become doctors, but only after spending a significant number of years cramming information into their heads. (In 2023, for instance, as many as 28,811 people in the US alone graduated from a medical school.)
It’s no secret that that’s not an easy feat to accomplish, as medical training can take more than a decade of a person's life. According to Indeed, becoming a fully licensed and practicing physician usually takes at least 10 years as it requires a lot of time spent studying, in addition to practical training in a medical environment. With a specialty, the number of years can increase even more.
One of my best memories (as a nurse) was when I was talking to a patient who had been in a coma for a week and she answered me! She had woken up! She made a full recovery!
Best moment would be when an ex wondered if I was married and finds out I'm a doctor now ⬆️👍
To see a 2 yr old leave PICU would rate also, I assume. (Thanks CS Mott, U of M hospital)
How about the look of my bank account when I tack on a bunch of unnecessary fees on my poorest of the poor patients?
This is a staged photo and it bothers me that so many people think it's real. The structure of the question gives it away... It purposely doesn't ask how many he has and asks WHAT he has.
It bugs me just as much as you, when they're this set up and obvious it's not funny to me.
Load More Replies...Realize it's supposed to be a joke (or is it?). This is perpetuating misinformation about "diabetes". There are two main types of diabetes, Type 1 and Type 2. They are not variations of the same condition/disease, they are distinctly different in cause, dynamics and treatment. Nobody has "diabetes"; you either have Type 1 diabetes or you have Type 2 diabetes. Nether type is caused by eating a bunch of candy.
Nope, because eating sugar does NOT cause diabetes (type 1 Or type 2). Please let's help stop perpetuating this misconception!
According to the U.S. News, going through medical school is difficult not only because of how demanding it is or how many years it takes but also because it can get quite costly. The aforementioned source reports that in 2022-2023, the average cost of attendance for 43 private medical schools ranked for both research and primary care was about $63,000. Needless to say, that’s not a sum one can part with without batting an eyelid.
Same. 2 spinal fusion surgeries for that "happy" little guy.

Delving deeper into the financial aspect of getting a medical education, Dr. Andrea Stolar, senior associate dean of student affairs at Baylor College of Medicine in Texas, emphasized that many people already have loans from undergraduate school, which then add to their loans for medical school.
"Then, they are going to have multi-years of residency where they are paid a salary, but not sufficiently to really start making any headway on their loans. It's a long stretch to be willing to put off the things that a lot of your friends might be doing as they start jobs and start (to) experience life," the expert told U.S. News.

Unfortunately, student loans are not unheard of among aspiring medical professionals. According to Education Data, as much as 73% of medical school graduates have educational debt. The average debt of med school graduates with medical school and premedical deb—but no non-educational debt—was reportedly as high as $264,519.
Hello, there! I am your body. And I am going to *k¡ll* you!

Jokes aside, this is literally the most effectively explanation of autoimmune conditions I have seen in my 45 years.
Probably the worst part would be when you realize the anesthesia is finally kicking in
Apart from the looks, I find seats without backrests very uncomfortable, especially if you have to wait longer.
Despite it being a long and arduous journey, becoming a doctor is on many people’s bucket lists from an early age. (Likely because at the age of five, you don’t really think about how difficult it is to learn a bunch of Latin names or pay off student loans.) A survey conducted in the UK found that as much as 13% of kids want to become doctors when they grow up!
I see we have the same doctor. Except when i was three d***s in, i just stopped seeing him and dealth with issue without d***s.
Really hoping the meds you discontinued were not high blood pressure, methylphenidate, and high cholesterol
Load More Replies...Doc wanted to put my husband on blood pressure meds .. he hates the idea of taking pills .. she insisted in prescribing meds … so he quit smoking instead and now his blood pressure is normal.
I knew someone who started smoking to lose weight. :S I bet the doc was so tired of arguing with smokers to quit she figured she may as well threaten pills instead.

High cholesterol can be genetic. My brother is vegan, runs 3-4 times a week 10k and still is on higher end of cholesterol level. I'm on statins though 😀
That's how big pharma/Drs get money - from sick patients - curing them stops the money
F**king western medicine BITES! It's a colossal capitalistic money machine! Makes me CRAZY. My mother's medication gave her cancer / killed her. For the record, she had RA, rheumatoid arthritis. Extremely painful. Medication was Methotrexate. Side effect? LYMPHOMA! Bless her precious heart, she believed in western medicine, like the majority of the population. Well wishes to you all. 🙏🏼😎 Appreciate the ear. Venting this is healing.
It may be a side effect. My mum had RA. Refused methotrexate due to side-effects. Got cancer anyway. Had chemo. Genuinely felt BETTER from her RA. Asked to be left on chemo as it helped her life quality.

Load More Replies...Oh god, between working with food and being a lab tech, I spent well over 25 years with my hands in gloves. Latex sucks, even ones with the powder in them, but the Nitrile are pretty good as long as your hands aren't damp. After you wash your hands you have to make sure they are completely dry, plus your hands sweat in both, so when you have to switch gloves it can be a pain in the a*s.
It happens. Sometimes they're not even properly folded. And everyone waiting for you!
If you’re wondering what the biggest challenge for beginners in med school is, it’s people. By that, I mean their anatomy, as studies have found human anatomy to be the most challenging course for first-year med students.
I once really annoyed a teacher during a lecture on the anatomy of the spine when she was going through everything that can go wrong, and I simply stated that it seemed to be very poorly designed. It was meant as a joke, which she didn’t get. I really think that a creative bridge engineer could come up with a better design.
Spines weren't really designed for bipeds, but give it a million more years we'll get there (if we haven't annihilated everything before that)
Load More Replies...my mother has scoliosis, and I often joke that her spine is straighter than I am
See now why isn't THIS in the textbook? Simple, intuitive, accurate, and concise.
Great analogy, just don't lick the icing off the cookies!
I have all four as there still is a little bit of straight spine back there waiting its turn to make its move!
That would be me!!! I am a visually/hands on learner. I would be drawing all over myself for anatomy class.

I can say that, working in healthcare, depending on blood flow or access to limbs, we do occasionally need to get creative. But, this is just bizarre.

This is so weird. When I write something, my thought is that people have to be able to read it.
Not when your autoimmune disease decides to attack it. I recently had an adrenal attack that kept me in complete fight or flight mode for 3 days. It was terrifying and exhausting. I can't imagine that level of ongoing stress is good for your body.

I feel sorry for this guy. Unless it's faked, he clearly has an issue with injections.

This reminds me of the time I went to a concert with my friends(we were teens), and someone said you sat in a seat with puke on it and I started laughing at the person; then, they looked at me and said, "No, you sat in it". I started crying and ran to the bathroom.
My old Dr that retired a few years ago had to lay down to have blood drawn inside of sitting in the chair.
Loins. Loins are always a good backup, and everybody has "em: they're what keep your leg bones from clickity-clacking together when you walk! When in doubt, GIVE LOINS!
This reminds me of when I was 24 and had just started dating my now husband, I told some friends I couldn't go to some event as I was "Going to watch X's 6th form football team final" (6th form is age 16-18 for those outside the UK). Turns out that a few of the friends that went to that event raised concerns about the age of my new boyfriend...he was a trainee teacher at the time and the coach!
When I was at primary school, I mentioned that my mother was at the hospital. All of the sympathy dried up when I mentioned that she was a nurse. Great 10 minutes though.
some of my favorite people are in the medical field; LOVE their sense of humor (dark like mine)
For those (like me) who don't speak English: an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
An apple a day keeps EVERYONE away if you throw it hard enough.
Load More Replies...I've been with my Oncologist for so long that he's gotten married and had 2 kids. His Nurse has been engaged, gotten married and just bought a house and cat. I've seen ALL of the pictures and at this point I'm on a first name basis with both of them. They were amazing the whole time I was taking care of Mom and when she died, they both sent flowers to the funeral home and hugged me when I broke down during one of my appointments. Both have literally seen me inside and out, at my absolute worst and lowest points, so I'm actually closer to them than most of my family. People can scream and say it's unprofessional, but I can say that I absolutely trust them with literally my life.
I can just hear that young punk telling me "as we get older". What do you mean we? You ain't even out of puberty yet.
But by the time they finish medical school, residency and fellowship for a specialty they are at least 35 to 40. They aren't as young as a lot of people think they are. Some of them do look younger than they are.
I am at THAT age where every professional looks like they in Kindy.
I've reached the point where some of my doctors are younger than I am and it's always startling.
Nothing wrong being in a long term committed relationship without getting married.
well considering it's med school, you might get extra credit for perfect doctor writing
Very few of them miss the crappy handwriting class.

Load More Replies...My sister (non medical) told me to not intervene in my nephew's care, they know what's what. Yeah, well as a clinical bod, I can tell you, they sometimes don't. He was being severely failed by a "specialist" acute system. Both in his health and social care needs (kept a 17 year old Bed-bound, no bed physio, no blood thinner while given treatment known to throw clots and family clotting history, told to defecate himself and they'd just clear up after). They would have killed him. I ignored her, got hold of the lead consultants email address on the global network... Wrote a 2 page a4 email of where he was being failed. The next day, his entire care plan changed. The consultant ran a full ward review. Suspensions. The lot. So ignore this. Load More Replies...I think this is a very good reminder of what is needed for some to conceive, it's not always easy or comes naturally.
Yet people choose this route instead of adoption. Not all advances in medicine are great ideas. Makes orphans feel less wanted when people want "their own" child.
The other side of that is that adoption is so difficult in the US. Like they don't even care about how many kids need homes. It's stupid expensive, and most states want you to foster first, and I'm sorry, but I'm not wanting to foster a d**g baby, or have an "open" foster or adoption where I have to deal with a drugged out crazy parent.

Oh My Good Heavens!! She is absolutely adorable. May God bless her and keep her safe and healthy as he does both her parents. The happiest photo I have seen in a very long while even with the needles. They just signify how much she was loved even before she was conceived.
Ok let me walk you through it. You use needles to inject the hormones needed to cause the follicles to release the egg, which is then collected via needle and placed along with s***m into a container. When an embryo results you then use a needed to collect it and place it in the general area to allow it to attach to the uterine wall and implant where it becomes a baby. It usually takes multiple rounds of this and the woman has to go through many many months of daily injections in order to obtain viable eggs. Does this help you understand?

I recently had a disagreement with my doctor (who is usually up to date on stuff and very thorough) when she prescribed me melatonin for sleep issues, despite me saying it triggered a migraine last time I tried it (about ten years before). She said that wasn't a side affect, and I was so frustrated about not being able to sleep that I took it. It didn't work well, and I definitely had a headache and felt sick (similar to how I feel when I get a migraine) the next day. I felt terrible, worse than if I hadn't slept at all. I google side effects and the most common were headache and nausea!
