Mark Hamill is in the news for his phenomenal acting in The Fall of The House of Usher. However, if it weren’t for his wife, Marilou York, we would have never seen him in this brilliant horror drama.

The 72-year-old revealed in an interview that York pushed him to take on the role, even though she’s not a big fan of the horror genre herself.

The couple has been together for nearly 45 years. And their love story is a real meet-cute!

How Did Mark Hamill and Marilou York Meet?

Marilou and Hamill didn’t have a torrid Hollywood romance. The Star Wars actor met York when she was working as a dental hygienist in Westwood, Los Angeles. 

“She came into the waiting room in jeans, white coat, breasts like melons, looking like a Vargas painting,” Mark told People magazine in 1981. “I said, ‘They let you dress like that at work? ‘She said, ‘Yeah. Next.’”

Yes, Mark Hamill and Marilou have been together since 1978. Mark Hamill’s wife, Marilou, is a CFO in his company, Amazing Invisible Inc.

They currently live in Malibu, California, and have three kids – Nathan (born 1979), Griffin (1983), and Chelsea Elizabeth (1988).

All three of Mark Hamill’s children made a brief cameo in The Last Jedi in 2017.
