Who doesn't love a well-timed, fuzzy, heartwarming and wholesome post? They remind us that all is not lost in the world. That somewhere out there, between the misery and despair, some good still exists.
But sometimes, we search so hard for the positive that we think we’ve found it in feel-good pictures of smiling employees going above and beyond, or stories about someone finally paying off their student loan debt by working three jobs. For a split second, our icy hearts melt. Then our brains catch up, and we realize that these posts are just heaven on the surface but hell down below… Grit wrapped in a pastel bow.
There’s a special corner of the internet reserved for wolf-like content dressed in sheep's clothing. Facebook page, Dystopian late-stage capitalism horrors repackaged as heartwarming stories is exactly what the name suggests: a wall of reminders showcasing just how twisted society really is.
Bored Panda has put together a list of the best posts from the page to pinch you awake if you've lost touch with reality. May they serve as a warning that sometimes, the most dystopian thing isn't the future but rather the way we've learned to romanticize the struggle right now...

Well said! It's infuriating how rightwing a$$holes hate when tax dollars are spent feeding American citizens but don't mind the trillions of $ in handouts private companies receive in the form of subsidies, bailouts etc
When children have morals and empathy far greater than their government.
Thank god I live in France where this sort of aid plus wheelchairs, manual and electronic are fully funded by the Government
For what people using wheelchair told me here, only the crappy ones for grannies are fully covered. My young neighbor needed a wheelchair that can be used doing sports and she had to pay 6000€ from her pocket
Load More Replies...I visited it once and loved how beautiful the natural landscapes were and how kind and friendly the people were, but I wouldn't live there either because good god.
Load More Replies...Keyboard warriors in the comments: if they cant afford a wheelchair, they likely cant afford to move to a new country...
First of all the parents shouldn't have to do this. Second of all, if something like this can be done so easily and cheaply, why is capitalism via the medical suppliers and American insurance agencies charging so much that people can't afford this?
The manufacturer need to make sure it is ergonomic and safe. The medical supply company are the price gougers. Its like Uber versus taxi. Taxi has to vet their drivers, keep extensive msintenance logs on the cars, etc. Uber doesnt.
Load More Replies...I was taken to the ER on a random Thursday with the blood sugar reading of 319. I was diagnosed with diabetes, and given a blood sugar testing kit and insulin. Except, that same day, my insurance DENIED my insulin. A few days later, after my doctor wrote a letter to the insurance company, I paid $77.17 for the insulin. Thankfully my readings have been at a good level, so I don't need to take insulin right now, but it was insane.
If you think the cost of healthcare is outrageous (and I agree), you should see the cost of durable medical supplies and equipment that patients NEED in order to live some semblance of a normal, average life, with their disabilities and/or medical conditions. I am personally familiar with the cost of ostomy supplies (when a patient has a colostomy to drain their bodily waste directly into a bag connected to an abdominal stoma). The companies that fill the orders/prescriptions for basic equipment needs bill insurance (or Heaven forbid, the consumer patient) well over $10,000.00 monthly without blinking an eye. And that is the DISPOSABLE, consumable items that are needed monthly. Doctors aren't being paid even close to as much to provide care for these patients who require the supplies. DISGUSTING!!
Only americans can scream "socialism and healthcare is bad" and then let people die because they dont have enough money to live....
How to deal with the fact that your country makes you the recourse for cases like this. It's very good that they acted! And it's very bad that they had to.
What kind of a Grinch sized heart must you have to deny a small child Aawalker which will give them Independence and freedom to move around? I'm looking at you big insurance
Americans screaming "socialism healthcare is bad" and then let people die because they dont have enough money to live
I have a question: why do we have insurance? Why can't we talk directly with the doctors and nurses, auto mechanics, etc., and work something out? You get sick, go to the hospital, they take care of you, you get better, you go home. What does insurance have to do with it? Why do they get to deny you what the doctor says is necessary medication? I realize doctors are people and they'll make mistakes, but I'd rather take my chances with the doctor who went to school to become a doctor than with some unknown insurance agent who doesn't know anything about me and has never met me.
Dear Non-Americans :: Americans are fully aware that our healthcare system s***s and that everyone else in the world gets fantastic "free" everything. Y'all just have to bring it up every single time anything slightly medical is mentioned like we've never heard it before. We get it...America bad....the rest of the world good. The ceaseless reminders, comments and arguments are boring.
doesn’t he look chuffed with that…..kudos to the store …awesome
While the situation is bleak, Gary Sinse is a wonderful human being up there with the likes of Dolly Parten and Mr. Rogers
I love this!! Let's shower good people with prizes and bring some joy to civic life!!
I’m no mathematician but wouldn’t that mean he was taxed roughly 75% of his winnings?
That's awesome recognition. Maybe you won't get to meet her again but you can pay it forward. That should be the way we honor those who helped us.
true that. thats why i hand them cash or leave it under a rock poking out.
I love living in the USA. BUT. There are still a few serious problems that need worked out.
I learned to do this when I was 7 because my schools gym door doesn't have a lock...
While we’re here, can we also stop glorifying “never missing a day” - if you are sick or your family needs you, you can take a day off.
Unrelated to the post, but what the actual f**k is going on with that guys chin?
Oh, I believe this. Google is free as gvizzle74 says. Also I believe that people have to scrounge if they want a funeral in the US. Funerals in the US are obscenely expensive and funeral companies prey on the emotions of the grieving to sell overpriced c**p. I have told my family I insist on being cremated in a cardboard box without being embalmed, then scattered by them instead of having an expensive urn in some crematory crypt. I don't want any sort of memorial at an expensive funeral home. But many people don't want that for their dead family, and that's their choice. They shouldn't have to go into major debt to do things differently though,.
Alternatively: a fair and sensible social welfare system and universal health care. People - especially wealthy people - could pay taxes for this and the world would be a better, healthier place!
This might be the only thing a school district can do to help, it shouldn't be necessary but at least they are parking somewhere relatively safe where they won't be moved on by the police.
Teachers? And not for their personal use? To buy classroom supplies? Who was this sadistic who came up with this idea?
Imagine taking someone's arm as a souvenir. Imagine having to pretend like you're happy to be receiving it back from the psychopath who took it.
So, physically and mentally unfit to drive through tiredness, but still working to pay the inevitable medical bills from when he crashes?
In Australia, even before we had any medical cover (temporary residency) we paid $25 for an x-ray.
I can believe this, having worked for workers compensation insurance companies. It's almost as corrupt as America, but government still has controls. In NEW ZEALAND the GOVERNMENT covers all workplace compensation. You read that right. It's probably a communist conspiracy, but hey....
I thought this was fake. I googled it and it is a real item available on Amazon for $17.49.
I think it's important to have some kind of occupation. Like an elderly lady who takes care of her dog or something like that. This is healthy and keeps you mobile. Or if you WANT to keep doing whatever you did before. But if you HAVE to work till the reaper comes because you can't afford retirement, that's a whole different story.
Good news is that, according to a post above, you'll be happier this way!
What? They're apologizing for firing workers by not paying their other workers?! What a terrible company.
But no roommates? Pssh - amateurs. You could totally rent out the other side of the kitchen floor for passive income!
considering it cost minimum about £30000 to climb it would have been easier just to give the money spent to the food bank
21 year old takes job where he could either be k****d or have to k**l someone to fund his college education. There we go fixed it
If the shoplifting stops will the cost of that shoplifting, which is already factored in the price, be lowered? No? I thought so
They even admitted that to me, that they were pretending to actively search, advertise as if the position actually exists, but they only did IN CASE such a position was open again, so that they'd have me and my fellows in the sleeve already. We were 20 people, all having believed the position actually exists, because the ad said exactly that. Won't name them, they still exist, and companies coming after you for exposing their fault isn't what would help me much now.
My son and his fiancée stayed with us a couple years, then a couple years with her parents. We all got to get to know our new family members better, they graduated school nearly debt free and had a down payment for a house
No, they can't really. A lot of them have terrible breakdowns from work like this.
Also, don't spend any money. On anything. Did you know you can live under a bridge and eat out of dumpsters for free, while you "hold tight until you have passive income"?
500 a month is more than most paychecks after 3 weeks let alone a teens
If you can't get by on $300k from your day job, I think you might be doing something wrong. Bay Area rent isn't that high.
Saying that should be considered cruel and unusual punishment in every state in the US.
Actually, if it gets people in prison fruits and vegetables I'm all for it. You should see the c**p most prison's serve. Baloney sandwiches on white bread with American cheese and an apple. It's gross.
Civil War II, Electric Boogaloo seems more and more likely

Most of us average citizens are AVERAGE CITIZENS and are NORMAL human beings, just like you. I hate when people like you generalize.

We had our chance and f****d it all up.
Load More Replies...Guess what? I don't come to BP for dystopia. Downvoted. Why do I keep posting comments like these? B/c I'm hoping over time, some of the BP posters might notice - see the things we appreciate (the interesting, uplifting, funny, beautiful), and the things that we (at least I), don't.
Why did you read the article then? There is plenty of warning in the title, yet you still chose to read it and comment on it. That's on you, dude
