I didn’t tell anyone I was being abused, or even what happened after I left my ex-husband. For over a year only my therapist knew. I was ashamed and I didn’t want to burden people. I kept telling myself I didn’t need other people to validate my pain in order to heal. But finally I couldn’t keep it inside. My hair was literally falling out from stress. I slowly told my new boyfriend, family, a few close friends. So much pain lifted. There was still so much work to do, but letting go of those secrets helped more than I ever could have imagined. Even people who had no idea what was going on commented on how much healthier and more vibrant I looked. I feel this picture in my heart and my skin.

I hope it encourages other males who are being victimized and abused to seek help to get out. As a society we really need to do so much more to help the men.

This is basically what happened to my son after we finally got the court to see that his father was an abuser. The difference was night & day, my son finally began to blossom when he realized that this time they were listening.

He had a shitty mother who abused him, a shitty dad who didn't fight for him. And then Amber Turd, who beat the s**t out of him hiding behind the 'little woman' is always innocent. Well we believe him, Go Johnny, Go.

The thing is that for bruises this kind of concealer doesn't work. It's for minor blemishes. For significant bruises, ie, when significant force has been applied to skin, you need heavy duty colour camouflage. I used to be a makeup artist. I know exactly how to cover up injury (all accidental). I can also create bruises you wouldn't know weren't real. Those marks are amateurish.
