I used to work in a home for the developmentally disabled. One of our clients had the mental capacity of a normal 12 year old. She had a toy cellphone that looked real. She was good enough at pretending that her conversation sounded real. Of course, if she handed a staff member the phone, we'd talk into it. If we were busy or distracted, though, we'd have temporarily forgotten it was a toy, and actually expect the person on the other end to talk.

With only usb 2.0 speed for the non pro editions (early 2000's tech) so you have to buy an external cable for the pro to be as intended. Classic Apple move XD

The tradition of grandiose Apple presentations goes back more than two decades - to the era of Steve Jobs. Though if the co-founder of the company was probably one of the greatest speakers in the modern history of humanity, and each presentation truly became a work of art, then Mr. Cook, with all due respect to him, is inferior to his predecessor as a presenter and showman. However, this in no way diminishes the quality of the products that Apple proudly presents every year.

I wonder, by the way, if anyone has done a kind of quiz - to guess the year and model of the iPhone based on random frames from the presentation! The guys from Cupertino have found their signature, recognizable style of presentation, and adhere to the same tactics year after year. Which, however, invariably brings them overwhelming success. Even though, for example, USB-C appeared on Android smartphones about ten years ago. The ability to present even a familiar technology as a unique feature is another strong point of Apple. No sarcasm, really.

The Lightning charger is kinda pretty though. Like on the outside, it’s just so nice looking.
And yet, according to recent Forbes statistics, iPhones occupy the first four places among the best-selling smartphones of 2023 - and now, after the Apple Event 2023, they will perhaps occupy more than half of the top ten. "character references" are used in sentencing; once convicted, it is done in the hopes that judges will consider the offender a 'good person' and give them a more lenient sentence. Which was what they were hoping to gain here. Which is why it was so offensive. A friend of mine rapes someone and the only thing they are getting is a punch in the face (and no longer being my friend)

This is how my phone is looking at me now. Still using an iPhone 7+ (6 years old!) but am planning to upgrade it with the 15 this year. Yes I know there are no big differences between the 13, 14, and now 15 but I want to buy a phone that I can use for at least 5 years without Apple discontinuing iOS updates for it.

Any smart watch has an average life span of 2 years. So fully agree. Features in smart watches way off and can’t be relied on. Only use mine for the alarm feature so not to wake the neighbours. Expense alarm clock at the end of the day

The USB-C "innovation" is because the EU passed a regulation in Nov '22 that Apple could not sell phones without it after Dec '23.

I spent $1,500 on a iPhone for my birthday, last year...I'm going back to ANDROID!! the constant updates and when I want to use it for my business, Nope. They said it would need complete upgrade. Back to ANDROID!! Now I Have an OVERPRICED, PAPERWEIGHT. NEVER AGAIN!! USELESS PIECE OF GARBAGE!!

They've all been the exact same forever. They just get a little bigger or smaller and they've added extra camera. That's it. It's all the same. And I've had an iPhone for 8-10 years after having it hoisted on me for Xmas by my ex-husband who wanted one and low and behold! They were BOGO! So guess who got theirs for Xmas?! ME!!!!!
