“What It’s Like To Have A Cat”: 40 Illustrations By This Artist (New Pics)
Interview With ArtistIf you clicked on this post based on the title, we are going to assume you are a cat person, and that you’ve come to the right place! With that being said, today we’d love to show the new illustrations of a Hungarian artist called Rita Vigovszky. Rita’s work mostly features her cats, which are one of the most popular pets. In times when a lot of people find comfort in pets and also connect with them on a deeper level, the artist uses her talent to explore the relationship between cats and their owners.
Rita illustrates her life with a cat, and perhaps some of these illustrations might remind you of familiar situations with your own pets. With that being said, if you’d love to see more of Vigovszky’s work on Bored Panda, then make sure to click here for part 1 of the illustrations!

Me too, we had a black cat and she was just the sweetest thing ever! Sadly, she died at just a year old. 😭
Load More Replies...Black cats should not be able to be simultaneously so cool and so derpy--obvious evidence of their magical nature's.
Bored Panda reached out to the author of the comics, first, we asked about how the artist started making comics, and how the whole thing came about.
"I've always enjoyed these types of short webcomics, and unconsciously started to make my own ones way before I even started to share them with the public. They are a fun way to share your feelings with the world, and see how people find these feelings relatable."
You forgot the 4AM-8AM panel: "Hey, are you awake yet? Hey, are you awake yet? Hey, are you awake yet?"
Yep. My cat exactly. 4 am - hey, food? No? Well, I was hoping you would not check time... 5 am - food? 6am - Yay! food! 7 am - mom, I'm bored!
Load More Replies...My cat gets like this if I act out of my normal routine. If I get up at 5am to get dinner prepped or use the restroom, whatever, he zoomies so hard, and then when I close my door (which has a hole in it for the cats to go in and out), he starts screaming around the place. He's such a weirdo lol
Exactly!! My cat is like being possessed or what starting from 9pm until morning. Then he goes napping all day.
That is literally my cats expression when I finally open my door when everyone's gone to bed and she zooms out! But she goes to sleep around 2am thank goodness 😻
We were also wondering what inspires Rita to make comics overall.
"Miyu (Rita's cat) has been and will be my muse, but I like to take inspiration from everywhere, from my own life principally, obviously, but I always try to make mental sketches and look for ideas for new comics. I have a lot of ideas I have yet to make, I just need more time for them!"
No, just the dream. The reality is the sweetness suffocating us by sleeping on our faces.
Load More Replies...Our kitties who have passed, never really leave us... but it has been a long time since I dreamed about them...
My sweet kitty passed away few days ago and this brought tears in my eyes. Goodbye my friend. Pita-na-st...84-png.jpg
Sometimes, my heart cat comes back to visit me in my dreams.
Mine came back in my dream only once. It was one of those dreams that seem so real. When I saw her, I picked her up and said something like " I can't believe how I was lucky enough to have you come back to me.". Then, I woke up. :(
Load More Replies...I can sometimes feel the presence of my twin brother, a cat that was adopted when we were both 18 months old. He died at 16, so he had a nice long life. He was so pampered, and was the smartest cat I have ever known.
Same here. I often feel the familiar pressure from their bodies leaning against my back or on my legs when I’m sleeping. It’s so comforting. Sometimes I swear I see them out of the corner of my eye. Now, I’m pretty much of a realist, and prefer science over mysticism, so for me to say those things carries weight.
Load More Replies...This one made me tear up. I shared my beloved Spikers life for 20 years and she's been gone now for almost 20 years but sometimes in those half asleep half awake moments I still feel her there.
Few years ago cat i had (she was19) passed away😭 if you've had a cat you know the feeling of them jumping on the bed. The night she passed i went to lay down feeling incredibly heart broken and i swear on everything that is everything she jumped on the bed to lay with me.... Cried so hard😭😭😭😭
My cats have always managed to do the second position, plus the diligent cleaning that goes with it, at the worst possible moments. Time and place, dear. Time. And. Place.
With all of that being said, we were wondering whether the artist was always making comics or if it was just something she started doing recently, and here's what she told us.
"Drawing has always been very important in my life, even since I was a little girl, and I started experimenting with digital drawings during my teenage years, but I had never thought until finishing college that making illlustration could be my career one day."
I read (read: sung) that in the voice of Kristoff.
Load More Replies...I have one similar, from redbubble but it doesn't have ears :( ...... though I suppose I could just sew some on...
Load More Replies...I have a Maine c**n. I don't think I need to go into much more detail to explain why the bed belongs to him. I get a corner though lol.
How idiotic that you can't write what breed your cat is without having it censored. Do we really need to rename that race?
Load More Replies...Omg I thought that inwas the only person in the world who did this. My husband rags me out bigtime for this. I just don't want to disturb my cat.
A lot of people enjoy the work Rita puts out, so we were curious about what it was like to have such a motivating audience.
"It's so, so rewarding. Especially when you feel like the world is burning with all of these horrible events going around, seeing a comment where someone says my comic made them laugh or I get a heartfelt feedback for one of my commissioned illustrations - that's what keeps you going. It's just a very nice feeling to know you might make someone's day a little bit better."
Okay seriously. I spent money, time, and effort on building my cats a monstrous climbing tower. They proceeded to tear apart/live in the box it came in. For days.
Load More Replies...We have a Lazy Susan on our dining room table. When we’re not using it, we used to put a decorative dish on it. We had one dish that our cat Jack fit into perfectly as a kitten. He was the runt of his litter at the time. As he grew, he continued to sit and sleep in that same dish, because it’s next to a window that gets lots of sunlight. But Jack grew from a runt to a hefty 15 lb adult cat. I have pictures of him as a kitten in that bowl. I also have pictures of him as a grown cat, and only able to fit less than half his body in it, with the rest spilling out onto the Lazy Susan. Basically, more out of the bowl than in. He still doesn’t realize how big he is, and acts like he’s still a tiny runt kitten. I love him with a heart and a half.
I know it's hard to believe, but my void does NOT like boxes. I adopted her on her second birthday, just days after her owner died. Other than that, she is a relatively "normal" cat. In other words, she is whack-a-doodle nuts!
Ney..if it fit-ish ☝️😂 it never, ever fits.. according to hoomans 🤣 but if only we had the positive mindset of a cat 😌🥰 then everything would be possible 🤩😍
I literally have 5 empty boxes in my room of different sizes for mine 😹😻
Because she gets to give kisses to all the small dogs in my small apt. complex. She was raised with a small dog, but when their owner died, they were separated. Her long time boyfriend, a long haired chihuahua just moved, and she is sad.
Load More Replies...I adopted a 5 year old cat. Has anyone had any luck getting a leash on an older cat?
Just do a few minutes at a time at first, near the door. Take it off if/when the cat starts getting agitated. It may take a few weeks for your cat to get used to it and the first walks may be just five minutes long. Some timid cats never take to it, it's mostly something that fearless outgoing cats seem to enjoy.
Load More Replies...When Boogie was alive, I tried to leash teain him and he would flop over like he fainted
Had one cat that was just that desperate to go outside. Tried the leash once. Nope. It hurt me more than it hurt him. A lot more. Especially given that it would have hurt him none. Nope. He gets to be healthier and safer inside and stare longingly out the window. Not in a major city.
Lastly, we decided to let the artist share her additional thoughts with all of you Pandas.
"I'm constantly trying to improve my artistic skills and experimenting with new techniques, it's a never-ending learning curve and I am never satisfied with myself. I'm trying to make my art more niche, because I tend to want to try out everything but I also want to give my followers what they expect of me and what I really enjoy doing too - cats, even more cats, and lighthearted, relatable comics."
I found a couple in the fresh bag of litter.
Load More Replies...I saw an episode of Dr. Jeff (a vet in Colorado) where a cat ate hair ties and had to have them surgically removed. Please watch your hair ties.
Had a cat that was a jewelry thief! He stashed it in the box springs of my bed lol. I accused my poor brother of stealing it. Found it when I had to get something under my bed and I could feel something under the film on the bottom of the box springs. Sliced it open, and sure enough, ALL of my missing items and a few of my moms. 😂😂😂
My cat does this. I even found a key in his house once that I still have no clue what it belongs to lol
Load More Replies...I literally, and I mean that, have caught more than one cat I've owned, stealing treasure from a purse. Now it was treasure to them, hairbands, bandaids?????? And once somehow, my tuxedo must have sat in my purse, chewed on my debit card and got lucky in dropping it back in. Because I didn't find out until I went shopping and I dug it out ( not in a wallet) and upon looking at the teefie marks, hear this from the cashier. " Giggle, got a kitty cat huh? " I bought a wallet.
Anytime I leave my purse out it's like my cat just knows and is drawn to it. I've watched him pull the zipper, stick paws in, dig around, and bring out my mini hairbrush, just to chew it and push it around. He never pulls anything else out. He's also obsessed with the full-sized brush I keep in the bathroom. So eventually, when I bought a new mini brush, I gave him the one from my purse. He played with it for a bit, then started digging the new one out of my purse! 😹 I always tell him "you have your own brush now so play with that!" He rarely listens.
Load More Replies...Lol reminds me of the pet tictocs about this 😭HOW MANY ARETHERE!!!!!! ......37 counted them myself
Except managing them. (Unrelated) Yoda: Living the dream the cats are.
Load More Replies...I like to volunteer cleaning the the impossibly tiny kitten room at the local shelter. They barely know the concept of a litter box and it's a lot of work but when it's all clean and happy kitty space.... A couple dozen 3 inch long little littles crawling all over you 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁🙃🙃🙃🙃
AWWWWW!!! Husband and i had 7 cats at one point! They were all rescued as kittens in dead of winter
My cat loves reading with me, to the point that if I pick up my phone while I have a book in hand she wil boop my phone away.
I get my caffeine via Pepsi, but yeah:cat, book(s),caffeine.Perfect recipe.
I would love to see a story based game like this (something like coffee talk)
It's called Aspirational advertising. "This could be you on your period if you buy our shjt!"
Load More Replies...If you actually can have your period and act like they do in the commercials for pads/tampons, I hate you. .> )
I can act like that for work, (wait tables), but it's only an act. Inside it's like 'my ovaries are trying to kill me, I'm bloated, tired busy, and a 10 top of children came in. If any of these motherf***ers wants a milkshake I will unleash a fury like that of 1000 crashing waves!!' Or I'll just smile, say of course, and cry in the bathroom haha.
Load More Replies...to prove the product works and you don't bleed through?
Load More Replies...And the pain (for some of us, like me)!!! 😭 Debilitating. The mental and physical exhaustion plus the pain completely screw about 3-4 days/month. And yes, I still have to go to work too. :(
I feel ya. I've got mine now and I'm a masonry laborer. I had to drag brick, block, and buckets of mortar up under the crawl space of a house today so the masons could build some piers up under there. All that while I'm dealing with major cramps but we got the job done. So yay!😓
Load More Replies...How did this comic know I am dealing with this right now? All she's missing is a pillow and to be curled into a tight ball.
The period commercials are one of the most stupid lies ever. I am a man and know it, let alone every women on the planet.
I neeeeed a black cat! One less cat in danger of being abused, and an increase in the ambient cat hair in the house that would actually match my clothes
this is my favorite thing to do! usually it’s with my sketchbook, designing one of my 42 characters (yes 42, yes i know i need help)
You don't need help! It's awesome that you get to do something you clearly love. Most people only dream of having that kind of creativity, commitment, and time. Do you think maybe someday you'll make a comic book, anime, or cartoon?
Load More Replies...It's true! Since people are home all the time and they see their pets constantly, they want to reward their cuteness, so they give em even more treats. As our weights grew, so did our pets'!
Load More Replies...I've been home sick because of psychological issues for quite some time. You can tell my older cat prefers when I'm less well since I spend more time lying down and I'm the best bed.
My cat Arrow was living with my parents until 2019, when our other cat passed away, which was not long after I'd moved back out. Arrow got very depressed and lost a lot of weight, so I brought him home to live with me. My roommate has 2 cats and my husband has a dog. Arrow loves it here and made fast friends with the other animals. During quarantine, I gained a bit of weight, and he gained back what he had lost plus more. He's a happy and healthy boy now, if just a pound or two overweight.
Wishful thinking in my house. The cat would drape herself across the book.
Where are the hairs that are spread all over the clothes - that every cat owner wears as an accessory?
Ever noticed, if your cats have more than one color in their coats, that they will only shed their dark fur on light colored clothing, and their light fur on dark colored clothing? At least, that’s what it seems they do. (JK)
Load More Replies...I decided long ago that the kitty glitter is simply a part of my personal style. It's fashion not just fur lol.
I will take the hair on my clothes any day over not having my baby! My cat is white and I mostly wear black so we're a horrible couple but I don't care 😻
My cat has a huge fluffy tail and I've caught him snuggling with it like it's a stuffed animal ❤
my fluffy cat uses her for a pillow or just hugs it, either way it's so cute! my younger cat just likes to chase her tail then bathe it then chase more
Load More Replies...More like: " I can´t raise hell while you try to sleep without you"...
Load More Replies...Ill be honest these are making me cry, i lost my cat oñ new years day 2022 and i miss her soo much
Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your dear sweet girl kitty 😭😿💔
Load More Replies...Our cat sleeps on the bench cushions in the mud room waiting for my daughter to come home from school every day ❤️
I *daily* see people wearing them with their noses completely exposed (and claiming they are wearing them correctly). Sorry, but if you're not going to wear it properly, why wear it at all?
Load More Replies...I like the upper right. It looks like the cat is enjoying its masking experience.
I saw a woman in the doctors covered her mouth but her nose wasn't. Just how stupid are people?
Second best use for the surgical mask (properly worn of course) I have discovered is in the winter to keep your face warm outside. It does a great job an you don't get moisture build up like with a scarf.
When I see someone using it wrong l, especially with their nose exposed.. I just wonder like.. are they stupid?? Or do they not care and just need to breathe? Love this.
Unfortunately, I took picture number 2 in real life.... On the beach because everything blinded me too much and the beach was almost empty😅😂
I like the blindfold kitteh expression. Also reminds me of trying to get my small child to wear mask....never did work out well.
Double entendre: in Brazil, a slang for a beautiful person is "gato, gata" (male/female cat).
No we has cutest void. Which will then be disputed by every other owner of black cat claiming thiers is the cutest. Lol.
I love the colors in this, this really shows the artist’s skill. Beautifully done!
Cuddles like this are the icing on the cake of having a pet. It’s wonderful when they love you like this. It makes cleaning up messes, especially hairballs, and the vet bills, and waking you up in the wee hours of the morning, etc so worth it.
My kitty sleeps in my lap more but sometimes we snuggle 😻 I miss my cat I used to spoon with 😿
They may judge us & get scared (my cat hides when I sing too loud😹) but they still love us!
I love how the cat's struggling to hold on. Very well done.
Load More Replies...Yes. We chronically have noseprints on the windows. We have 3 cats and a dog. Occupational hazard for pet owners.
Pretty realistic, cats are almost as fond of a**s licking as dogs are. The good thing is that cats don't eat as much c**p, although it is still nasty.
I was going to eat junk food but I'm no longer hungry so thanks for that I guess...
This absolutely looks like a modern version of a promo for the old Nancy Drew television show from the late 1970, staring a young adult Pamela Sue Martin. Gosh, this takes me back to some good times in my life. (Sleepovers, pizza, best friends.) FYI I'm also a cat lover! I have a Maine C**n rescue cat.
I have 3. When I tore a tendon and had surgery, I was laid up in bed for an entire month. I always had at least 1, if not all 3, on the bed with me at all times, around the clock. They’d jump off to eat, visit the litter box, and stretch their legs, but always in shifts, never all at the same time. Even when my husband went back to work after the first—-and worst—-week, I never felt totally alone. We truly do not deserve our little fuzzy, or unfuzzy, four legged buddies.
Load More Replies...Next picture should be the cat trying to groom her, only her hair’s much longer than the average cat’s.
Load More Replies...My oldest cat would be in the fridge attempting to steal the sliced turkey but this is the baby. lol
Doesn't happen often, but it's sweet when it does. P1020212-6...0d14d0.jpg
Yes, the algorithm is stupid😂 give me ads for bras the next moment for the blue pills and in many different languages. The funniest and weirdest thing around. I was on an English site and got a Russian advertisement for doctors who want to learn German. (Yes, I was in a lab for a short time working in 2020) Still, it irritated me
Load More Replies...Oh the belly! Believe it or not, all 3 of my cats like having their bellies softly and gently rubbed. First time in a lifetime of living with cats that that has happened. Heavenly.
Ponchat. Even get a bit of French in there to class it up.
Load More Replies...Our cat has a blanket he drags around the house, we decided to get a pet cube to figure out why our blankets kept getting from our bed to the other rooms of the house... Turns out he bunches it up between both sets of his legs, hold onto it in his mouth and waddles through the house while meowing after we leave for work. Heartbreaking but hilarious to watch on video 😹 He now has his OWN blanket and he knows it's his, and he absolutely hates when it gets washed
We had a cat named Lucy, who had a toy we called Duckster. Lucy discovered Duckster in the pile of cat toys when she was about 9 weeks old, and loved him her entire life. I lost count of the times, in the 13 years she lived, that I took needle and yarn and replaced his little eyes with new French Knots or sewed up his seams, and how many times he got dropped in the water bowl and have to dry out, or the dirty laundry basket, to be found when we folded the laundry. When Lucy died, we buried her in the backyard, wrapped in a warm fleece blanket with her food bowl next to her and Duckster in her arms. Miss you Lucy. RIP.
Load More Replies...Oh, the pretzel cat. Sometimes it just looks like the cat broke. They’re fine, but man, I wish I was that limber.
These were all so CUTE! Heck, now I'm thinking wistfully about the cats we had when I was a kid!
Every single one of these are just amazing =^.^= lots of talent and very relatable 😻💙🌸🤘
