The dopamine release associated with looking at animal photos stems from a theory known as the baby schema effect. It also happens when we look at baby photos, all triggered by visual cues that come from a biological response.
The theory explains that the strong attraction and feelings of attachment stem from our innate urge to care for and protect animals, much like the way we care for young humans.

Waterfowl, osprey, sea eagles, and a few other bird species have an oily residue on their feathers that repels water. Most birds don't have this. They can fly in light rain, but if they get wet... well, you can see what happens via the images.

In my neighborhood, the gaggle of Canada geese has doubled; the goslings are now juveniles able to keep up with all the adults. For weeks, vehicles have had to come to a stop as the geese saunter across this busy road, and some drivers have taken to laying on their horns right outside my open window. I kind of respect their arrogance as they dare the vehicles to hit them.

Thar is pretty common in my Dutch hometown as well, but with Emden geese (boerengans). People mostly tend to wait with varying degrees of patience, but the use of car horns is fortunately limited.

Correct. The fish displayed abnormal swimming and buoyancy issues. Water was poured over its gills at regular intervals to allow it to breathe during the scan. The fish survived the scan and was successfully treated.
