I know who I'm taking to prom in a few years! (Hint: it's my cat)
Aww, super sweet. I have a photo hanging up with my hubby looking at me like that. Sometimes I get a little misty eyed just looking at it coz I can see the love he has for me.
If I went to my prom..my kitty would be my date too. I adore my cat. I totally admire this guy and his cat, adorable.

The online community is a reflection of the side of life that some of us forget in our day-to-day routines. Namely, that it’s full of beauty, laughter, cute animals, and people being excellent to each other (not just jerks). And that’s something we think everyone should be able to celebrate.
Such a selfless thing to do. I couldn't cope taking in a pet knowing full well its time is almost up. So thank you to the people who do, your amazing.
I have the opposite problem. A stray just adopted me. Took her to the vet, shes about 2. I am super worried because I am older and have a medical condition. I am worried i will pass before the cat and she will be upset and non desirable as an adoption.
Load More Replies...Love, love, love this one. The cat holding on to her just breaks my heart!
I used to work at an animal shelter, it always killed me to see the old ones, and I would do my best to push people to adopt them, but they instead wanted puppies and kittens 🙄😡. I always made sure to spend extra time with them, and ignored the young ones. To this day when I see an old dog or cat at the shelter I foster for I always say hi to the old ones and say a little prayer that they get adopted. I'm at my limit for my own pets, but when the numbers go down, you can guarantee I'll be adopting the old ones. As many as I can.
Maybe she helped her mom or dad or grandparents plant it. I used to help my dad plant stuff, I poured the water in the holes he dug for the roots.
Load More Replies...That is a 100-year-old rhododendron, but that is not the woman who planted it. Read about it on Truth or Fiction. Somebody wrote a new caption claiming that was the woman who planted it after the picture had been circulated for a while.
Well, he just killed TV's Frank again so everything's the way it should be!
Load More Replies...First owners probably meant zoomies that culminate in biting and clawing at passing human legs. Gotta say I sympathize; this is the reason to adopt two kittens together
Load More Replies...BUT they were kind enough to return her so she could find the right family and not have to suffer with them.
Load More Replies...Too playful? 😲 That's the worst excuse ever.... I read it as "was returned because the person felt they were not the true owner of the kitty. That the kitty needed to find someone, shoot into their life like a sparkeling rainbow and help them find happiness and healing" ❤️
Every had a mad thing of an adolescent cat who stalked and attacked anything human for months at a time? I'm guessing "playful" might have been a euphemism for climbing legs with claws and wild biting. There are ways of dealing with those behaviors, and perhaps the previous owners just weren't aware of them.
Load More Replies...This warms my heart! We picked up our kitty at a shelter that had his cage labeled, "Don't show; too playful." If we hadn't seen him (by accident, mind) he would have been euthanized. Now he is THE heckin' chonk.
If you find a pet "too playful," perhaps you should get a stuffed animal instead.
Professor Degges-White, from Northern Illinois University, explained to Bored Panda that human beings are very complex. We have to be able to express a range of emotions to get the most out of life, not just a limited few.
“A funny thing about humans is that we all have a negativity bias, meaning that we attend more to negative information than we do positive. That's why a single piece of ‘constructive feedback’ will linger in our minds longer than a dozen compliments,” she said that people tend to focus on the bad more than the good. It’s simply how we’re wired.
True, dogs (and a lot of other animals) are definitely *pawesome*

Iv a doberman and a boxer and the two lovable souls look at me like i need saving always. They look past me to see if I'm in trouble or danger of any sorts, like edge of the stair case or In way of an approaching vehicle and they nudge me out of the way
Was just talking to my dog like this. Hope no-one was listening... We had a great conversation that went like: 'I couldn't really afford to buy anything from those catalogs anyway, so it's just as well you've made such an artistic arrangement with them on the rug.'
We had to take our German Shepard to the vet this week and he kept growling at people who got too close to my daughter. We had to tell him to be polite more than once
My husband has a tendency to move slower on the weekends, and knowing we had alot of errands to get done, I went into the store looking for him, annoyed.
I found him, reading ingredients to an elderly man and helping him calculate ratios for what he needed, because he couldn’t do it himself anymore. And listening to him tell stories of his acres of land nearby.
I forgot about errands, our time crunch, our tasks…and thought man, if we could all just take a little time to help eachother with just the littlest things, how good we would all feel. And remembered that I snagged a good one

Load More Replies...My Granddad played the bagpipes before he passed. It was so nice to play in the hammock and listen to him play as akid
My favourite bagpipe-memory is from one summer about ten years ago. My family has a summer house in this super Swedish area by a lake, no one lives there permanently, only vacation homes and they're all in a very idyllic Swedish style, red houses with white edges or naturally grey timber, some even have grass on the roofs. In any case, it's about as Swedish as it can get, and then one day we hear bagpipes. We dismiss it as some accidentally playing the radio too loudly, but next day at the same time bagpipes again. The third day we had a rough idea where it was from so we were out strolling and there he was, man fully decked in kilt playing the bagpipes in front of a very Swedish looking house.
“It's thought that it might be evolution that supported this somewhat irritating habit of looking for the bad, ruminating on the negative, and focusing on flaws,” the professor mused about why human beings have a negativity bias.
We also wanted to better understand the role of anger in people’s lives. The professor said that it definitely has a place and can even lead to some positive results! However, prolonged and high-intensity anger can do the opposite and lead to a lot of negative outcomes. Your body will suffer as a result of all the stress.
When we do things without thinking, sometimes there is thought behind it. I'm not religious, but do believe we are all connected.. I have witnessed this phenomenon MANY times. It never ceases to amaze me.
It really is amazing, and science is starting to be able to prove those connections we have to each other and the earth. Heart Math has done some fascinating work in recent decades.
Load More Replies...I understand why this was downvoted, but you make a good point. Sometimes it’s better to just let a dog pass peacefully and painlessly, with euthanasia. I’ve had to put down a dog, and it’s not easy, but it was better that way since I knew she wasn’t suffering anymore. People differ on this. If the dog is no longer happy living, it’s only right to make sure your dog isn’t suffering anymore.
Load More Replies...We had a pitbull with bone cancer in his skull. Thiught he had smacked his head on our bumper but it kept getting bigger. It was very aggressive and grew huge in only a week but we had him on pain meds and he was his regular happy self for about a week. Then one day he started to flinch when we went to pet him so I called the vet. The meds weren't working any more and he was scared we would touch his head but he still needed contact with us. The vet met us outside his office and we held our baby while the deed was done in his favorite place, the back of the jeep. We loved on him till he passed over and not once did he flinch. Sometimes meds work, it's up to us to notice when our efforts are in vain. Bless your heart for letting this boy die happy and loved.
I'm sorry you had to let your pup go. It's such a hard thing to do. Mine woke me up very early by making a thumping noise (like he was scratching himself). He was seizing; only briefly stopped and then would start again. My vet opened early so I could take him in (6:30am). He tried different things for the next few hours, but the seizures just kept starting again. The only kind option by that point was to put him down. He was 15 and I knew eventually he'd die, but I was completely unprepared for how my heart shattered. It's been 12 years and it still hurts like hell, but I know it was the right decision.

“Anger, like other emotions, is felt differently and at different levels of intensity depending on the person. Some people do go through their lives in a state of constant anger when they are tuned into the innumerable injustices that exist!” Professor Degges-White drew attention to the fact that life can often seem unfair.
“However, when anger is a constant state, the body suffers greatly—being primed for an angry response keeps the body tense and the stress hormones flowing,” she warned that people should do their best to avoid living in constant outrage at injustices. It’s a quick way to wreck your health.
My husband noticed that no one was eating the oranges. I said that I think I subconsciously avoid them because I have eczema on my hands and peeling them hurts the little cuts. The next day this was in the fridge. He proceeded to peel 6 oranges for me every Sunday to last the week, and has continued to do so (when I want oranges). I never asked him to. I don’t need anything fancy. To me this is love.
Same! As someone with eczema it itches and hurts.

“When we are up-in-arms about a cause, we love to bond with others who share our views, but humans are much more complex and deeper than a single issue, so we need to be able to experience and express other emotions if we want a meaningful, enduring relationship to develop.”

"I was waiting for my prescription at Walgreen, and I noticed this man is picking up his medicines.. He is asking how much they are, and starting to get nervous about the price. The total was $170 and the pharmacist asked if he would rather only get one month of his medicines instead of 3. “THIS lady next to me, walks up to them and says: NO, he is getting all three months and pays for his bill. I was walking out of there with tears in my eyes, what an amazing woman…”
Yep. For to long we've been electing idiots - idiots who have almost destroyed a system that has brought about the world greatest advances in medicine. We have only ourselves to blame.

Load More Replies...On social security, that's a lot of money. $680/year. Let's say this man doesn't have a pension or retirement fund to boost his income. I imagine the guy needs to eat (i try to budget $10/day for 3 meals) so $3650/year. Probably has to pay rent or a mortgage (let's say he lives alone, has a studio apartment and pays $ 600/month) that's $7200/year. He pays electric bills (the average US resident pays $115/month) that's $1380/year. He pays for water and sewage (an average of $55/month) adding $660/year. ---- adding that all together that's $13,570/year just for food shelter and medication. That doesn't include transportation which if he takes the bus could cost him another $600/year in monthly passes depending on the city. In 2021 the average social security retirement payment was $1543/month or $18560/year leaving our hypothetical man with $4390/year or $365.83/month for everything else not listed.
I once saw someone pay for a box of cereal for someone else in similar circumstances. And even that was so great!
I paid for a couple's groceries once. They had a toddler, and the cart was food and diapers. They wrote a check but it was declined. They were sent to customer service to see why. My daughter's friend was the front end supervisor; I slipped him $300 (groceries were a bit over $200) and told him to pay it and give them the change but under no circumstances tell them where it came from. I didn't stick around for their reaction. My dad raised us to as much and as often as possible, without needing credit or accolades for it. I don't have a lot of money but when I have extra I do this. My daughter's friend is an awesome accomplice lol

It’s such a cat and mouse game. Insurance wants you to try the cheapest meds first and see if they work because it keeps everyone’s premiums lower but providers have found a way around that by basically wasting medication which drives premiums back up.

Load More Replies...I noticed quite a few people enjoyed my post about my dog Tuesday so I thought I’d let you know why I chose the name Tuesday. I’ve had pretty amazing luck with dogs. My first dog’s name was Charlie. I never had to teach Charlie anything. He always had this ability from the first day I got him to understand me. He dedicated his life to being my best friend and protector. I have cerebral palsy so I use a manual wheelchair. Several years ago I had severe health issues and spent a long time in the hospital. Around that same time, and perhaps feeling my struggle Charlie got sick. I have a wonderful vet and we did everything we could but Charlie passed away due to kidney failure. It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever been through. I wear a necklace everyday in honor of Charlie. I didn’t know if I’d ever get another dog but i eventually decided to do it. I didn’t want to name him Charlie or Charlie Jr because to me there will always be one Charlie. So I settled on the name Tuesday because Charlie was born on a Tuesday and I like to think he would be okay with that name. I hope this isn’t to upsetting for this group but I thought I’d share a picture of Charlie and I a couple years ago. Hope this story is one everyone can connect to and thanks for reading if you have time.
It never ceases to amaze me how God knows exactly what we need, when we need it. May your time with Tuesday be spent with all the joy life can bring you!
Losing a pet is much harder than I realized. When I had to have my dog put down it was one of the worst things.

A father on facebook has moved the networks after writing on his account:
"The hardest thing about being a single dad, is going to the restaurant with my beautiful daughter, and she tells me she wants to go to the bathroom and I go with her to the bathroom and people stare at me strangely, she is my daughter and I have to do it because I will always take care of her, I will not send her alone. How hard it is to leave her every time I go to work far away and she stays crying screaming at me, she makes video calls and tells me where I am to go with her. I love my daughter and everything I do I do so that she has a good future and does not lack what I lacked at her age. I love this little girl, may God bless her a thousand years and lives more."
Not all men are the same, some know how to love, respect and even be fathers alone.

I had more than one college student call me mom. I loved the fact that they trusted me so much.
The most bizarre thing about this to me is that someone that drank red bull in college has a child old enough to drink red bull in college. I didn't think red bull had been around that long.
Thought the same at first, but apparently it entered a lot of markets in 1994 (I remember noticing it in somewhere around 1998/99)... so it could fit. As RB must have only be around when the father was in college (not when being born) and considering that kids borne 2000 are already 21/22 it is of course possible in case the father became a dad being young or he did his college exams when being older than the average college student 😉

My dad opened his own engineering firm when I was maybe 6 or 7. My dream was to be a professional painter so when he bought an office building he gave me a cubicle wall to paint whatever I wanted on. It was right behind the receptionist's desk where it would be one of the first things any clients would see when they came in.
I took this photo shortly before he decided to retire and sell the building after 25ish years. I eventually lost interest in painting, and we didn't get along very well during my pain in the ass teenage years. This huge, not particularly good painting was always a strong reminder that my dad is probably the coolest, most supportive dad I could ever ask for.
That's a great painting! I'm pretty sure that I could never do anything that good even though I'm older...

Always feeding me when I am hungry and hug me when I am sad. I will never forget you Mr. J. I love you and I will never forget about you. Love, Markus
F**k this one made me cry. I heard that my fifth grade teacher is retiring and this woman was such an amazing person and teacher and I wrote her a long note.
Mr. J., thank you for being THAT teacher. We all should have had a Mr. J. in our history. For those who had a Mr. J., consider yourself blessed. For those who never had a Mr. J., you can become the Mr. J. for somebody else.
This is what happens when your hipster parents decide what you'll be for Halloween instead of letting the kid pick the costume. That being said, even with 'Van Gogh's' unhappy face (or maybe especially, since he was typically an unhappy man from what I've heard and researched) this is freaking epic 😆

my little sister is sick and me and my older sister just got these texts from our brother in law.
My secret to a good soup, grind up a clove or two and add it in. Everybody always loves it but can never figure out what the flavor is. You're welcome BP.
Methinks just one teensy weensy little particular ingredient may be missing. Hmmm.....
I thought the same thing & reread it. It’s the second ingredient listed.

Cuteness overload 😍😍😍 Just a little worried about how this works though?
Haha, my dog hates going to the toilet if it's raining or the grass is wet. He will hold it until it's dried up or he's desperate, whichever comes first.
My dog's back teeth have to be floating before I can convince him to go out in the rain to pee.
Lol yeah but it's an art piece. Probably just mount it on the wall or something

Load More Replies...YES!! This thread was most definitely worth looking at .There's enough bad stuff going on -- we all need something positive to consider. Thank you.
I also would like more positive content like this, please! It seems like there's so many more articles about pettiness, malicious compliance, and making fun of people than there used to be on Bored Panda. I wouldn't even mind having less content as long as the content was more positive. Sadly, Bored Panda seem to have gotten on the toxicity train. :(
