what a great idea and it looks great.... the other day I found confetti with flower seeds in it, so you can use it outdoor and leave wildflowerseeds to grow, I liked that a lot

no need to downvote, if you don't like this Idea, this confetti is biodegradebal made on a Starchmixture or bio paper with environmentally safe colours and wildflower seeds. So you can have your confetti and don't hurt the environment.

Paper is biodegradable, and most store bought confetti I've ever encountered was made from paper.

Smart even if itd be time consuming. Also if you're using confetti outdoors you kinda suck tbh. Edit- assuming it's not leaf confetti.

    They ain't roasties, my friend!

Of course, seeing a tip online is one thing and incorporating it into your life is another.

Jessica Koehler, Ph.D., an associate faculty member in the University of Arizona Global Campus Psychology Department, says habit formation is rooted in neuroscience, with the basal ganglia playing a pivotal role.

It sounds technical, but according to her, "This brain region, responsible for learning and motor control, is integral to developing automatic behaviors. As habits are repeated over time, the basal ganglia become increasingly active, strengthening neural pathways and making these actions feel automatic."

This efficiency allows the brain to conserve cognitive effort, but it also makes ingrained habits challenging to break.

But if you really try and stick to it, chances are you’ll build a new routine into your life, whether it’s one of these hacks, a new hobby, or something else.

"The brain’s adaptability, known as neuroplasticity, makes change possible," says Koehler. "Neuroplasticity refers to the brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections in response to learning and behavioral changes."

This means that while habits may feel hardwired, they can be reshaped with enough effort and repetition. "Research shows that it takes an average of 66 days to form a new habit. The time frame can vary depending on the complexity of the behavior," Koehler adds. "Just as repeated action solidifies bad habits, the same principle applies to forming positive ones."

If I need to continue painting in the next few days, I also put the paint brushes and paint roller tightly in plastic bags so I don't have to wash them. I also cover the roller base so I don't have to scrape the paint back into the can and can continue the next day. Works for regular latex-based paints, the rest is a different story.

The key to forming good habits is starting small and gradually building your way up.

James Clear, author of Atomic Habits, advocates making tiny changes that are easy to maintain.

For instance, if you want to develop a habit of reading more, start by reading just one page a day—but try your best to stick to it. After you’re comfortable with that, add one more.

These small increments compound over time and can lead to remarkable results.

You should leave the leaves out on the lawn. Better for the lawn, better for the environment. In fact, get rid of the lawn. Green lawns are an environmental disaster. They are an invasive species that is destroying the native ecosystems of the country. I was replacing by own front lawn with native wildflowers, but we're now renting it out. I have a landscaping company which specializes in native species lawncare that comes out four times a year for maintenance. Yes, a native plant covered yard only needs maintenance three or four times a year. You remove invasives in the spring and summer, trim the native shrubs in the summer, and cut back the plants in the fall, so that the dead plant matter lays on the ground and decays, rather than standing and possibly burning. No weekly mowing, no monthly trimming,. And the flowering starts in the spring and goes on until the mid fall. And leaves from the trees are left in place to compost.

The important part to understand is that (fleeting) bursts of motivation aren’t very sustainable for us.

Focusing on systems (the habits and routines that drive progress) is often much more effective than focusing solely on goals. While goals provide direction, habits are what keep you moving forward daily.

In other words, it’s about the process, not the results.

Just In Case You Have Not Learned This Little Trick Yet

DIY woodworking life hacks showing creative ways to protect and shape wood pieces during cutting and assembly.

When building something that will be outside or in a wet environment (like this shower stool) one of the primary concerns is where the feet touch the ground. Because wood is just a bunch of straws, the feet tend to suck up (capillary) moisture and your project can rot from the ground up. Especially if the feet are in the dirt.

To stop this you need a barrier between the ground and the wood. So wrap tape around the feet so that tape creates a "bowl". Mix up some regular 5 minute epoxy (with epoxy, remember to stir/mix for much longer than you think you should) and pour the epoxy into your little bowl. It only needs to be about 1/8" thick. I know it's "5 Minute Epoxy" but let it cure overnight.

Remove the tape and rasp/file or sand it smooth. You now have a project that will last longer than if you had not done that.

The average *thief looking for cars to steal from isn't picking locks... that's not stopping the windows getting smashed out. Can't see this healing at all, the scumbags stealing out of cars tend to either just check every car looking for one that isn't locked, or they smash windows.

Most of those struggle though, unless you've actually got the music playing in the background. "Staying alive" is one of those that most people are easily able to get the rhythm close enough. As an aside I once had a course teacher suggest "Nellie the Elephant", except that the version that spring to my mind was the punk cover by Toy Dolls, at roughly twice the required speed.

Considering how many animals we have, our home is the 'baby gate capital' of the world! Keeps them from going in rooms we don't want them in, keeps some inside and others outside at the same time, helps to prevent animal fights and...they can also be resurrected with boards and hinges to make gates to keep your pets on or off the porch.

Used The Overnight Vinegar Hack To Clean A Decade’s Worth Of Scaling On The Shower Chain

Before and after cleaning a metal shower hose, demonstrating a genius life hack that people actually use for shine and rust removal.

I saw this vinegar hack on Instagram and thought I’d give it a try. You basically pour distilled white vinegar into a small ziplock, submerge the affected area and tie it with a rubber band overnight. Then I used a scrub daddy and wiped off excess stuff in the morning and voila, nearly brand new shower head chain woah! I used it on faucets around the house too, beautiful results. Only warning: the vinegar can eat through cheaper steel.

Do people not know about insulated bags (AKA cooler bags) and hard plastic ice packs? If you know you will be buying frozen food, pack a couple of ice packs into an insulated bag and your ice cream or frozen nuggets will be fine for the trip home until you can put them in the freezer

The implication that it's somehow softer and easier to cut when you get it home suggest that it's partially melting on the journey, which may be why it then gets rock-hard later. Kept properly it will be no more or less easy to slice whether it's been in your freezer for a month or is straight from the shop.

I do 5 driveways in winter for pocket cash, in Michigan. Almost caused a couple wrecks with my hack from folks who couldn't believe what they were seeing. 2 24" snow shovels side by side results in a 4 foot clearance path, takes no time at all. Get all 5 done in about 1.5 hrs, travel time and all (about 3-4 "of snowfall). Needs pretty good coordination at first to lift the shovels full to bank them.

I Think This Is Really How To Take A Step Toward Something That You Feel Vulnerable About

Reddit tip suggesting shaving your head for Halloween as a clever life hack to avoid awkward hair situations.

I shaved my head in Dec after knowing the time was approaching. Was nervous about the “omg! You shaved your head” comments. And after many interactions where I expected big responses and people didn’t seem to care I knew it was me making it a bit deal not them.

Until a friend’s 6y/o daughter made a huge reaction at a gathering with everyone there. I lt was perfect, all the adults just quietly didn’t say anything about it.

Use Zip Ties And A Wall - Mounted Coat Rack To Neatly Store Hair Tools And Keep Your Bathroom Clutter-Free

Hair styling tools neatly organized by hanging on hooks as a genius life hack for easy storage and access.

My dad was tired of seeing my “tools” — hairdryer, straightener, curling wand — lying around the bathroom like a messy workbench. Use Magic Erasers To Remove Yellow From Headlights

Front view of a blue Toyota truck with raised windshield wipers, demonstrating a genius life hack people actually use outdoors.

There are several life-hack type tricks for deyellowing and defogging headlights, and I've tried a number of them. Toothpaste, bug spray, etc. None really worked. I was detailing the car and thinking that a magic eraser would probably do it... did a quick google search, verified my theory and went to town. 20 minutes later my headlights were significantly less yellow and also pulled some of the weird, hazy film off as well.

Headlights were on a newish Tacoma, which are notorious for going all yellow and ugly. Note: doesn't seem to help the "fogging" as much. Some folks suggested added some rubbing compound to help actually polish them.

Bonus tip: magic erasers also work similarly to clay bar for pulling bits of gunk out of the paint. Just know that they are microabrasive, so don't go crazy on one spot or it might damage the clear coat.

Rubbish. Only if you leave it out for an extended time such that the exterior is getting warm. I do indeed often use a microwave, but care must be taken to do it slowly, especially with meat, to avoid warming it up and starting to cook on the edges. For a steak I'd do it for about a minute on 40%, leave for five minutes, repeat, each time checking how much more it needs, and if it's starting to get at all warm leave if for longer, then drop the minute to just 30 seconds if it still needs any more..

I Like To Make My Own All Purpose Cleaner

Hand holding a homemade all-purpose cleaner bottle with recipe label showing genius life hacks people actually use.

I try to avoid store bought cleaners for a variety of reasons. Yeah, it's not that expensive to buy a bottle of cleaner. Most range from $3.99-$5.99. But homemade cleaner is gentler on the respiratory system, results in less plastic waste, saves a few dollars, and utilizes ingredients a lot of people already keep on hand. I use 1 cup water, 1 cup white vinegar, and 2 tablespoons rubbing alcohol. I used to add essential oils (as you can see on the photo) but I ran out a while back and don't feel like spending the money to buy more. Skipping the essential oils also makes it safer to utilize on upholstery. I use it to deotorize my couch. What kind of frugal cleaning tips do you have?

okay i feel like that’s genius. however, this is the first time in my adult life that i’ve ever lived somewhere that has a dishwasher, so this is all kind of new for me. my mom would have me unload the dishwasher as a kid, but never load it and we def didn’t have metal straws back then.

Metal straws are dangerous. And probably unsanitary. And that doesn't seem like they'd get cleaned that way. Better to just hold them directly under a faucet running hot water. Even better - with a pipe cleaner.

I presume painter’s tape is the same as masking tape, and therefore an absolute cinch to pull off, which is why it’s recommended, but I agree, the parent should be the one removing it.
