We are living currently through the worst drought in the last 100 years in Cape Town. So yes, we need to use water very wisely.

This is an excellent idea! But make sure you flush with the lid down, or all the disgusting germs will jump right onto that tiny sink and anything nearby! Actually, you should ALWAYS flush with the lid down.

Only downside I can see is soap scum build up on the inside of the tank and all over the valve and float. Being "out of site out of mind", it has a high potential to get pretty funky in there.

Yeah maybe in deserted areas with water ration but this is severe for say, Seattle where it's water water, everywhere. Even though admittedly, one should never waste water I just think it is overkill for most.

You could keep the sink to the sides and just run a pipe over to the toilet. That would fix the awkward position issue

MyTherapy is a great app for reminding and tracking meds, specially if you have to take different types of meds at different intervals. When it is time to take a pill, it tells you which pill and you can mark it as either confirmed or skipped and review later on to see if you took all the pills you were supposed to. Just in case this is of help to someone.

That probably is not in all UPS trucks around the world. For example here in Finland the winters are very dark and there are only couple of hours of daylight so the roof like this would be useless, especially if there is snow on it. But in the summer it is sunlight nearly 24/7 so then a roof like that would be useful.

That was suggested by a driver who was rewarded handsomely by UPS. Not only does it not need interior illumination, the plastic weighs less than steel so it saves fuel too. If I remember correctly his bonus was based on how much money was saved.

I lived in Germany as a child and I remember that we had to take a "bicycle driving licens" before we were allowed to ride our bikes from and to school, but it was in 2nd grade, I think. We were on a playground like the one on the picture and the police was there to monitor us and score points. When I moved back to Sweden I was suprised that there were none like this. None.

In Czech Republic the rule is to step on the crossing at green light, not to get to the other side. If it turns red in the meantime, you don't have to rush and can continue at your normal pace.

At One of the Universities in San Diego (USD or SDSU... can't remember) engineering students came up with a similar design to the green and red lights, so that it was easier to find spaces. They used solar panels for powering it and the light boards prevented the up and down aisle searching that's so frustrating. Collaborative, creative thinking. We need more of it!

It'd be better if it had a barcode scanner that tallied everything up (including tax) as you scan them and place them in the buggy.

Obsolete, we use a hand scanner in the Netherlands. You not only see the amount you purchase, but you can also check out without having to take the groceries out of the bag, and without waiting in lines.

It is quite cool, but also quite useless. When you connect it to a computer you can easily see how much storage there is left (in MB/GB instead of percentage) and i don’t really see why you would need to know how much storage your USB stick has left at a moment when it’s not connected to a computer.

We have these on our boats too. If any sheet sets don't happen to have them we have them put on because the sheets have to be custom made. They are all color coded for each cabin too. There might be a purple thread sewn into the mid starboard cabin and a red thread in the forward port cabin, etc. When we fold sets they are all folded into each other; flat, fitted and pillow cases are all folded into one and put inside of one of the pillow cases so they're never not a complete set. Makes it much easier. Organization is key.

Totally agree. First, when I need recharged batteries, I always need more than one. Second, I still need a power supply unit to transform from 220V or 110V down to 5V, which the USB cable can handle. Third, recharging by USB will take more time than recharging by "real" charging device. Fourth, placing an USB port inside the battery instead of charging capacity is simply a waste of space.

But what difference does this make? If it was rainy when I got to work, I probably have an umbrella with me and so I just open it once I get to the entrance/exit. If it was sunny beforehand and I had no umbrella with myself, one of it won't magically appear in my hand just because a sign says it rains.

That's exactly the phone we had in our hotel rooms in Paris and Spain. VERY useful if what you need are maps. ... For those that are paying roaming charges...why are you doing that? Contact your carrier before you leave and set up an international plan that's a flat rate for unlimited roaming and data. Where I am it's about ten bucks a day to do that.

This is in Singapore, where you can't get internet on your own phone while you are there. So you get a phone with 4G, but the main thing is that you can book things like theme parks and zoo's with that phone and the hotel, of course, will get a referral fee. Wifi hotspot does not work on the phones so you really can't use your own phone and have to carry around 2 phones.

But they are cost prohibitive. I was recently going thru Delhi airport and they had something similar. They wanted something like $15 an hour. Now, who is going to get one of those for an hour only. In my case, 3 hours is minimum and that would have been $45. Crazy prices. If they reduced their prices then they may get more custom.

This is a old idea, before seat belt, car seats, and other such safety devices you could buy a bed that hung over the back of the front seats, and when traveling with kids, they would have a place to sleep! We used it all the time!

Its really sad that that is even there, much less the graffiti on it.

At least graffitiers know it is there, they might be the one directing someone else in need to where the phone is.

This is very meaningful to me because I know how it feels. I tried to commit suicide twice in my life and the second time was almost successful had my husband not been there to find me having a massive seizure and called 911. There really is hope and there are people who do care.

Heather Johnson: I, and speaking for the world at large, WE are very happy your attempts were not 'successful' and sincerely am happy you're still around to be a blessing and a voice of reason. You help others just by surviving and being a symbol of strength. Because it takes guts to write and share. Thanks and blessings to you going forward In your life. You deserve to live it
