First of all, there's lots of sketching. "From research, to concept, to refinement, to manufacturing, designing a product is an iterative process that can take years," Gwilt told Bored Panda in an earlier interview.
"It's important to understand what the markets and mindsets of customers will be like in the next few years (when the product launches)."

Gwilt himself thinks a good design must first and foremost form an innate connection between the user and the product.
"Someone needs to look at the product, and instantly understand what it is and how it can benefit them," he said. "The goal is to design a product that is understandable and desirable. It should integrate neatly with the existing lifestyle of the customer, and improve it for the better."

As someone that has these in my room, they are way better than they look, because you can spin the fan, which operates independent of the chain so it doesn't tangle, for endless entertainment!
If you encounter a fan/light combination that just has plain pull chains there's a fair chance the one for the light(s) will hang a bit lower, because the lights are below the fan. With individual lights, as in the picture, the pull for the lights is normally in the center, with the fan pull off to the side. Either way, if the fan pull isn't already shorter (because the installer was competent) you can shorten it for free.

I hardwired my ceiling fan, so I shortened the light pull giving the fan pull visual priority.
I always assumed the light was the longest cord, they both start with "L"
We had one of these things when I was younger. I haven’t seen them in a while though. And we had the switches on the wall like other light fixtures.
I have something like these on my lights/fans on what, if I had to guess, were installed in the 1980s - not cute like these, but the cords are distinctly different shapes so you can differentiate in the dark. You obviously get used to which cord is which by their positions, but still pretty cool!
Would anyone else deliberately put them on the wrong chains, or is it just me?

I find it nice and wholesome when someone took the time to think of something that would make life easier and then shared it with others.
Why is warm beer a problem? If anything messes up how beer tastes, it is having it served ice cold. American beer has to be specially engineered to have any taste when cold.
Some people say Germans drink their beer warm, but they don‘t. It‘s cold. Out of the fridge cold. That‘s cold enough. For other beverages too
