This is probably safer than standing on a ladder getting dust and debris in your eyes, hair, ears, nose and lungs. Drilling overhead with one of those is harder than you'd think.

thats is actually pretty smart and ergonomic. the whole wood setup has a handle and it rotates downward so the drill can motion up. he doesnt have to use his arms higher than his torso, which is one of the worst causes of muscle ailments.
