If you keep your cats long hair on their paws, please make sure to check it often so they don't get matted fur there, and also make sure to look for dirt and moisture that can lead to infections. I always make sure my long haired cat has fairly short hair there because otherwise she slides around and can't get a good grip on surfaces that are slippery. And people might talk about how you are cutting their whiskers, they don't have that between their toes or actual paws, they are on the "wrist" so as long as you keep to between the toes and paws you have nothing to worry about regarding that.
