Americans Share Brutally Honest Descriptions Of The States They Live In, And The Result Is Hilarious
The 50 states of the U.S.A can often get Europeans confused. Is there really that much difference between Mississippi and Alabama? Washington and Oregon? To outsiders not so much, but of course locals will definitely let you know! To get more clarification on how to distinguish between them, one Redditor asked Americans what are the things everyone should know about each state. It's hard to say if this person got what they were asking for, but the result is definitely amusing.
While some users offered tactful descriptions about unique nature of their states and shared important historical facts, others were a lot more candid. Americans dispelled absurd myths, showed what makes them proud and didn't hesitate to point fingers at their own flaws with hilarious examples. Spent time in the SoNo district. Lots of great shops and eateries (I still have the Brighton Key Fob I bought there). We also visited some of the most beautiful cemeteries I've ever seen.
Actually, home is pretty nice, but when I want to see/do something in NYC, it's not that far or arduous to do it. Plus, New Haven is like a mini NYC. The shoreline is wonderful, like a mini MA or even ME, but without the insane cold & snow. I mean, WTF? The worst part is getting from point A to point B because the infrastructure has such an old history. Think colonial, literally.
No mention of beaches, farms or small towns? We’re not just Danbury.
I probably would've wgone with "seedier than Martha Stewart has lead you to believe" for that one.
Awesome! I think I would like it there. I'm a West Coat Gal through and through but if I were ever to move, it might be here. Don't worry. My husband and I are really down to earth and nice. ;)
idk we're notoriously "snobby" ... tbh I think it's just the culture here and nothing major, but it's something to note if moving from California.

Having lived or vacationed in 27 of the states, this seems pretty accurate. :) This amazing country has so much diversity, I don't understand why more Americans don't visit more of their own country.
That’s because the US is too damn big and we don’t have enough vacation time to visit many places. Most people that travel the states are older retired folks.

I wonder if we could describe English counties that way - Am Cumbrian and Cumbria didnt even exist til 1974 - actually iI'm a Lancastrian
for some reason they combined 3 historic counties - Cumberland, Westmoreland and Northumberland - stole a bit of Lancashire and renamed us Cumbria
