I spent 23 years teaching at a community college, and about every 3 terms or so, a student would complain that they had showed up to class (I was one of the very few assigned a permanent classroom) expecting me to be there...when it was an online class. Unfortunately, the dean often took there side and castigated me for not being present. When I explained that it was online, she accused me of not contacting the students first, which I had always done. *smh*

This is why even "verified purchase" reviews aren't always helpful. I once saw a guy give a Roku a 1 star review as he bought a couple for his cabin so he could stream shows there- that he couldn't use his computer because it didn't have internet access yet. He was VERY upset that the Roku wouldn't let him use Netflix since he bought it specifically since it said it was a streaming device... you'd think they wouldn't have to say you still need the internet to access Netflix.
