Mine was a reverse allowance. I had a job in high school and turned over my pay checks to my mom. (My dad had died suddenly, and the family needed the money.)
25 cents, but I'm a boomer. Then mom and dad thought withholding my allowance would stop me from biting my nails. So I went out and got a job. That wasn't the worst of dear old mom and dad. Any wonder why I was relieved when they died?
I don't do allowances, but I do give my kid money here and there when he helps me out beyond regular chores. (And I always buy him what he asks for, within reason. He isn't greedy and rarely asks for useless stuff. Graphic novels, video games, stuff for video games. I tell him he's earned it by doing regular chores.)

I worked to be able to stay there. If I didn’t do what I was told nasty things could happen and they did if I was stupid. Typical abuse. I didn’t get an allowance.
I get 20 bucks once a month. I tried to get them to give me 5 a week a while back but now everything is so expensive you can’t get anything with that

I'm a boomer. Got 50 cents. When I started babysitting they stopped the allowance and started borrowing money from me.
I was also allowed to live there as a teen. The only "allowance" I got was when I took money from my mom's purse.
My Dad, gave me $2.00 a week for keeping my room cleaned. From 1972-1980.
My parents gave me and my sisters 2 dollars in quarters a week. My older and younger sister always blew their money immediately on candy but I saved my change for 10 WEEKS to buy a cool soda drinking hat at a local trick shop. Went with my dad and lil sis to buy it when I finally had enough. Lil sis ended up balling her eyes out cuz she wanted one too and my dad bought one for her himself to shut her up. It made me so mad lol

as a teen, nothing. as a kid, like a buck or two i think, i can't remember.
I was Cinderella. I had to get up at the crack of dawn and do all the chores while my siblings played video games. I had to take care of chickens, cows, goats, and ducks. I had to cook dinner for my family and do homework. Plus go to cult meetings four times a week. The church gave me homework too. I had to practice being a good evangelist on stage in front of everyone. No wonder i was always worn out.
Didn't need an allowance, I had a job by 12 babysitting the kids down the road, mowing lawns and cleaning houses/businesses.
I was allowed to earn some money with chores nobody else wanted to do.
Allowance is predicated upon doing additional chores above and beyond normal help around the house. This is not free money - it’s teaching the value of hard work.

As with everything popular and good, marketing memes smell blood and are all eager to cash in on attention and trends. You have probably already noticed companies using corporate accounts to seem more approachable, like fast food chain Wendy’s Twitter account “roasting” its rivals, to the Duoling Owl being all over folks' TikTok feeds.

While it can at times be fun, these companies actually have talented marketing teams. The future of memes-as-marketing will probably look more like your drunk uncle at Thanksgiving, who truly believes he could make it as a comedian. So for the time being, it’s best to appreciate hilarious memes for what they are.

Seems like 90 % of these were about (mostly romantic) relationships and/or kids... I was hoping for much more diversity of these so-called memes. Fail article.
The first few are very good, but halfway through it becomes a relatioship advice article - might wanna separate them into another article BP?
A lot of these just seem like toxic relationship traits. "haha girlfriend jealous and emotional roller coaster", "haha boyfriend dumb and emotionally unavailable" sounds like a nightmare from both ends.
