You see, despite all of humanity’s flaws, people are actually very creative and come up with some extremely bizarre things.
One place that documents the funny, creative, and sometimes plain downright weird things that humanity has done is the ‘Of Course That’s a Thing’ subreddit. A community of just over 723k people, r/ofcoursethatsathing does exactly what it says on the tin: it invites people to share pictures of things that make you think, “Of course that’s a thing.”
It’s more a feeling than a phrase, and you’ll find the very best examples of just how peculiar a world we really live in below. Remember to upvote the pics that made you go “what?” and be sure to share this list with your friends. You and I both know that they’ll enjoy some of these images! The queen pretends to be an old woman selling apples (which are poisoned). However, during the course of conversation with Snow White, she bonds with her. Forgetting that the apple in question was poisoned, she shares it with Snow White and both fall comatose to the floor. Meanwhile, the dwarfs return—with the prince. The prince is at the retreat to try and cure his impotence, and, attracted to the nubile coma victim, requests to have sex with her; at which point the dwarfs decide that the unconscious Snow White makes a perfect impotence treatment and decide to display her so that they can make more money. However, when they try to move the two women's bodies, the poisoned apple pieces become dislodged from their throats; the women awaken, angry and disgusted at what they overheard while comatose and unable to act. The queen then declares that the dwarfs are trespassers, and throws them out of her forest. She and Snow White later open a spa for women.

I own that book! It's hilarious! Especially stories like "The Codependent Goats' Gruff" or "Goldilocks" where she tries to tranquilize the bears and fit them for radio collars, only to be eaten by the bears. It's definitely satire.

This is the explanation I found when I googled to find the answer to Why? On July 23rd, 2012, the Catholics Against Seedless Watermelons Facebook page was launched, which describes itself as a "unification against seedless watermelons, a tasteless representation of abortion, birth control, and genetic modification". On May 17th, 2016, the Seedless Watermelons Against Catholics page was created, which contains the mission statement "If Catholics are allowed to hate on us, we as seedless watermelons shall fight back" on the About page.
“One hundred thousand years before that, they were crumbling ochre and rubbing it on their bodies. Five hundred thousand years before that, half a million years ago, they were making tools that were incredibly beautiful and more symmetrical and aesthetic than they had to be to do their jobs. Art is very deep in human history,” Fuentes explained that art is fundamentally a part of who we are. Then and now.

Why is it round? I get that there can be quite a range of notes on the staff, so a traditional typewriter setup might not work. But why is it round?

As I understand it, you hand-position the paper for each note. That allows you to build chords and put other marks above or below the staff. Hence you have a quarter-note with stem up and one with stem down, but not distinct to each position on the staff. Being round means you align it in the center rather than having a very large machine with the keys below.

This makes literally no sense. First, that thing would tip over with the slightest brush against it. Second, it may collect drips, but then so will your lap. Third, the handle is going to break the very first time you try to wash it. And, if it’s trying to act as a coaster, it’s not going to matter once you’ve ruined your coffee table the moment you try to set this down without looking and it spills everywhere.

I still can't get over the fact that Americans get confused by 24hr time. My watch, phone, computer etc has been in 24 hour time since forever. Makes so much more sense to me. (I'm a Kiwi, so yes, it is cultural, but damn it confuses me why this isn't standard everywhere)

I have had cats my whole life, and can tell you with authority that this will never work. Cats hate having anything on their tails, and the location of this idiotic thing is right where they sit down. How long do you honestly think it will stay there? Hint: You’ll have to measure the time in milliseconds. The cat will lose this almost immediately after their deluded owner puts it on, either by burying it under the s**t in the litter box, or hiding it somewhere it will never be found, like where they’ve hidden all your hair ties or bottle caps. If it’s the rare cat who doesn’t shrug it right off—-or bet another cat to pull it off for them—-right away, then it’ll end up as butt jewelry for you to clean the cat s**t off of. The solution is to just not waste your money on this bullshit.

I have a card game called Duo that I’ve had since like 1998. It’s cool - every card has a color, shape, and number on it, and you have to match two of the three things. There’s no draw, reverse, or skip, but there are different wild cards. I lost the instructions 20 years ago.

Yes, the title is misleading. No way that thing can rotate like a regular rubic cube. It is hollow on the inside; there's no 3 axis central shaft to allow rotations.

I love it! I learned how to do the rubix cube when I was mid teens. But I'm sad now because I can't for the life of me remember how to do the final layer :( so I can make it have a neat top and middle. The machines are common in Germany and often operated by farmers, butchers or similar. You can find them with milk, dairy products, meat, sausage, eggs, vegetables, any kind of homemade products and whatever else you can imagine. Very practical, but unfortunately often also expensive.

With these machines, a "board" usually moves up to the selected floor and the article is gently pushed onto it. Then glass bottles or eggs are safe. I've never had anything broken.

As someone with IBD this is a lifesaver. I have a special card to show in shops and if the company is nice they let you use a staff toilet, there are still a lot who refuse so these apps mean you can risk going out.

Oh my God... I have the most fitting story for this. So I've always been known through my family to love bread. Since we're broke as a joke, sometimes we use hot dog buns instead of bread. Anyway, one morning we were in a rush, and I hadn't had breakfast yet. So guess what I did... I took 2 hotdog buns, split one in half and put the other into the toaster, and had myself a toast hot dog bun sandwich. My family has hated me since then. XD
