Have you ever had a conversation with someone about your favorite food or drink, only to have them turn their nose up in disgust? "Ew, how on Earth can you possibly enjoy that?" they might say. "It's gross!"
And they're well within their rights. After all, taste is highly subjective; just because someone doesn't enjoy a particular flavor or texture doesn't mean it's not delicious to others. Right?
Well, the Instagram account 'Most Offensive Foods' is here to challenge that notion. As its name suggests, this fun little online project is on a mission to find objectively terrible dishes, and it's not holding anything back. From brewing coffee with pasta water to a Doritos and Mountain Dew cheesecake, continue scrolling to check out the abominations.

I luv how these r all(i think) american brands EDIT 1: Thanks y’all for 39 upvotes + creating a whole conversation of replies!
I remember this. Someone asked them if it was good and all they replied was "no". LOL.
These are generally special ordered fur new baby gender reveal Parties or for baby showers. Never see them in stores.
7-up cake and mt dew cake are both actually very good. Not sure why everyone is hating on them. They are very tasty, moist lemony sort of flavored cakes. Like lemon bread.
Ive made 7 up cup cakes they were delicious. Thank you for backing that..
Load More Replies...Listen, the best lemon cake I’ve ever had was made with 7-up. Delicious :)
7up is actually REALLY GOOD in vanilla cake. Replace the water needed for a box cake with 7up, it gives it a good little citrus kick and the carbonation makes the cake SUPER fluffy. Rootbeer works REALLY WELL in chocolate cakes too.
I've had biscuits made like that and they were amazing honestly they were
Idk why but moist is the most disgusting word ever for some reason
Load More Replies..."Made with real 7Up Flavour". As if that is a thing!!
Actually it's an old school trick to use 7 Up in cake mixes and glazes. Makes the cake super moist and spongy.
I’ve made cakes with soda before, more often with plain soda water to reduce the sugar. There’s something about the carbonation that activates the baking soda in the mix. They’re actually very good; they’re lighter and fluffy. Use 1 standard boxed cake mix and 1 can of soda. No other ingredients, mix and bake as normal. This website has an infographic with some good pairing ideas. https://www.allrecipes.com/article/soda-cake-mix/
Loved 7Up cake! It started me on my journey to loving anything citrus. Not Laffy Taffy though, strongly prefer banana
This is just a citrus flavored cake. It doesn't really taste like a soft drink. "Baking with soft drinks became popular in the South in the 1950s, and some experts speculate the 7 Up cake took off because of the innovative way it substituted carbonation for a leavening agent."
...But that is actually delicious, thanks. It's the same concept as a coca cola chocolate cake, except this is a lemon cake.
Its actually fairly common for cakes and some desserts to be made with sodas. Again, you obviously wouldn't make it a staple of your diet lol. But just like rum cake you are utilizing the flavor
its actually really good, i get em from the walmart bakery
Load More Replies...Eating yummy meatballs at a potluck, the person who brought them asked what I thought. I said they were yummy but couldn't explain what it was that made them so. The secret ingredient was grape soda.
I don't see how 7Up is any worse than just using sugar. People put Coca Cola in brownies all the time. At least 7Up doesn't have artificial colors. Although to be fair a store bought 7Up cake probably also has additional added sugar
A friend of ours makes "mountain dew cupcakes" - no extra sugar, because the soda is all you need. They tasted like citrus cupcakes. I'm guessing this would kind of be like that, too, but with probably more sugar.
I would happily try this. Probably with a spoon handy when it falls apart, but I'd eat it.
I know this sounds gross, but I have this delicious sweet 'n sour cocktail hot dog recipe. My mom refused to tell me what was in it (my step aunt made it) until I was older... ketchup and grape jelly. You literally melt them together. And if I had known I would've barfed, but listen - I loved it, and still do. Sometimes weird combos work.
No - I really shouldn't comment.... though it is very tempting
I love how this has no name - as it really is indescribable
This is actually not as bad as it sounds! It's quite common in the Netherlands. It's called "leverkaas" or literally, liver cheese. No clue why it's called "cheese" as there's no cheese in it at all!
Why not? It's probably just the flavor, not actual gum. I've had bubblegum flavored fudge before. Recently had jelly donut flavored, too!
If we would just let pizza be pizza, there would be world peace.
Ahhh.... one of those crafty arty puzzles..... you have 30 seconds to find the bagel.
Maybe uncommon in the US and europe, but in some parts of asia it's normal food

Apparently some people need thqt, so there: Salad: a cold dish of various mixtures of raw or cooked vegetables, usually seasoned with oil, vinegar, or other dressing and sometimes accompanied by meat, fish, or other ingredients. Ex. "a green salad"

I think it's more it seems like a really good way to get a child to drink hand sanitizer...
Load More Replies...I wouldn't even touch the other slop, but I have had coffee cheese, and it's incredibly delicious! I keep looking for it here in my area, but haven't seen it for a couple years now. It must have been a fluke order or delivery to my favorite grocery store at the time, but I sure wish it would come back.
so basically what we need is for Gordon Ramsay to invade the USA and force all americans to go on cooking lessons so that they do not produce abominations like this ever again. /joke <- for people with no sense of humour.
I love how BP makes a post about people being offended over the dumbest things and then makes a post about "offensive" food. Yeah, they were pretty offensive.
