Whenever I asked my mom what she wanted for Mother's Day, she would always say nothing. "You're the best gift I've received," she'd explain. That was the worst response I could get. It made me try even harder, yet it was no help in coming up with particular gift ideas. And I bet quite a few kids who made it to this list have had the same thing happen to them. Bored Panda has collected a list of some of the funniest Mother's Day gifts children have ever presented and it's probably safe to assume that they were way better than what their moms could've asked for. So continue scrolling, enjoy the funny gifts, and upvote your faves!

Took me a moment to notice the glued on macaronis. And the writing sure looks like it was done with nail polish. I've written things myself with nail polish, hahahah.

Anna Jarvis is the one who's most often credited with founding Mother's Day in the United States. Designated as the second Sunday in May by President Woodrow Wilson in 1914, aspects of that holiday have since spread all over the world, sometimes mingling with other local traditions. Jarvis took great pains to acquire and defend her title as “Mother of Mother's Day,” and to focus the day primarily on children celebrating their mothers.

But, as National Geographic points out, others had the idea first, and with different agendas. Julia Ward Howe, better known for writing "The Battle Hymn of the Republic," promoted a Mothers’ Peace Day as early as 1872. For Howe and other antiwar activists, including Anna Jarvis's mother, Mother's Day was a way to promote global unity after the horrors of the American Civil War and Europe’s Franco-Prussian War.

Frank E. Hering, a former football coach and faculty member at University of Notre Dame, also promoted the idea of a Mother's Day before Anna Jarvis. In 1904, Hering spoke to an Indianapolis gathering of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, calling for support to “setting aside of one day in the year as a nationwide memorial to the memory of Mothers and motherhood.”

He didn't suggest a specific date for the occasion, though he did mention that Mother's Day should be held on a Sunday. Local “aeries” of the Fraternal Order of Eagles took up Hering's challenge. To this day, the organization still holds Hering and the Eagles as the “true founders of Mother's Day.”

Anna Jarvis did not like the idea of Mother's Day having a "father." She blasted Hering in an undated 1920s statement entitled “Kidnapping Mother’s Day: Will You Be an Accomplice?”

"Do me the justice of refraining from furthering the selfish interests of this claimant," Jarvis said, "who is making a desperate effort to snatch from me the rightful title of originator and founder of Mother’s Day, established by me after decades of untold labor, time, and expense."

When I was about 4 years old, my mom had to drop something off at my dad's workplace and she brought me along. When we got there, I ran up to him and said, "I love you so much, Daddy! We made you a brownie. But I guess I don't love you that much because I ate it in the car." Hahaha! It hurt his feelings, so I told him I would love him again later and make him another brownie.

The drawings are like a rebus: Eye (I) - heart (Love) - penis (Penis) - Woman (Mom). I bet this kid is trying to tell you something, mom. Have a talk.

Almost: I think it reads: mom saw (eye) a handsome man, fell in love (heart), found his penis (penis) and out came a daughter (girl). She's right on target!

My Biology teacher is pregnant right now, she had her 30th birthday last week, when we came in the room had 30 balloons drawn on paper. Someone thought it was sperm as we were learning about sex cell recreation. And I will never see balloons as anything but sperm now.

Oh god my mum did this to me. There was this horrible primary school picture of mine, with missing teeth, baby fat, horrible 90's hair cut and some sticker earrings. I hid it everytime I went to her house and she found it everytime and put it on display. This went on for about 2-3 years. Then this time, I took it with me, ripped it into pieces and threw it in a bin. Thought "game over mama". Next time I went to my mum's, with my boyfriend and his sister, there it was, a huge, 1 metre tall picture of mine on the wall, not only that, she had it printed on a blanket and put it on my old bed. she obviously had a copy of the picture and I realized that day, never mess with your maker.

Across the top of the card it says something, but I can't read the first word. Then it says "many names", so I'm guessing he's saying something about how mom has so many names, including taxi driver to the kid.

First if all, teachers are very busy and we don't know if she looked at that before actually putting two and two together or if she just said okay kids if you're done with your flowers go put them in your book bag, stop being a jerk, also it's not like the mom could just throw it out you don't do that to something that your kid gives you
