I worked in an office that kept a typewriter around for when we needed to make corrections to signed forms and other documents. A young attorney asked me if I could show him how to turn it on, so I did. He sat down and then just looked at it—he couldn’t figure out how to put the paper in—and yet he somehow thought he was going to white-out some text to be replaced with other text? I took pity on him and did it for him in just a couple of minutes. Sometimes being old really pays off.
Now, let’s talk numbers because they’re jaw-droppingly huge. Craigslist has over 20 billion (that’s right, that’s a ‘b’, not an ‘m’) page views each month (this one’s an ‘m’, though), and it had more than 49.4 million unique monthly visitors in the US alone.

Where I live Craigslist exists but isn't very popular, as most people prefer Kijiji. Kijiji is pretty normal by comparison, but there was an ad for a "male stallion" recently. Good thing they clarified that, someone looking for a female stallion might have bought him by mistake. temp1-5d7a...c-jpeg.jpg
