I saw a documentary on this! It was great. The recidivism rate plummeted for those guys and their levels of depression with it. Cats are the best.

Every prison should have this, and only animal abusers/others with violent tendencies towards the living shouldn’t be allowed
American prisons really do need to focus more on rehabilitation instead of punishment. Of course, if the criminal is a deranged serial killer/rapist/child harmer then look them up and throw away the key. Some people can't be fixed.
If we stop dehumanizing criminals and rehabilitate instead of punish, things might turn out a bit better.

In the UK, cats can go in/out via a catflap whenever they like, its pretty standard here in many of our towns and cities.
