NOT being "whatever" but so many cats (particularly cats) die or are brain damaged in dryers, in which they are NOT seen and it is turned on.....keep doors CLOSED and check for pets before turning on. (It happened to us, when my elderly mother didn't see a young cat in ours). (No idea if it has ever happened to a dog but I'm sure it could).

once upon a time when i lived in the country. its deer hunting time(the Bastards),one hunter left a box of parts of the deer he didnt take.the legs, head. Well my dogs buddy and sira found it. im on the porch having tea and this monster comes up the driveway Never seen this animal before. now i'm standing behind my chair in shock.as it got closer i realized that it was my fat beagle buddy with the deer's jaw in his mouth. perfectly with the teeth sticking out!!! then sira walks up with a leg in her mouth!! sure got my heart beating!!

We used to have a dachshund who fancied himself a big bad hunter. one evening we were sitting in our backyard in Chicago and as he is chilling out on the lawn, we noticed a rabbit sitting inches away from him. He never even knew the rabbit was there until it decided it was time skedaddle. Once that happened, my dachshund was (though quite surprised) once again the big bad hunter and chased the rabbit to the fence.

My uncle's dog had the same habit. He was'nt allowed on the couch, and thought his new bed was a new couch... the cat hadn't the same ethics and quickly assume it was hers. The dog ended up with a blanket he loves.

This breaks my heart! Please tell me he was ok afterwards and no quills did any major damage! My old hound almost died when they missed a quill inside his mouth and it punctured his esophagus. Emergency surgery and lots of recovery time before he was better. Scary stuff. He still tangled with skunks and possums and every other critter, but he left the poky ones alone!

this does happen alot in the US - thankfully the dogs are usually fine - if a bit traumatised from the vets - the spines really dont hurt the dog at all going in - which is why they get so many rather then just a couple. however due to the hooked ends which get stuck they are very hard to extract

Brachycephalic dogs do this. They keep a toy in their mouth to keep it open while they sleep, so they can breathe a bit easier. Poor pup. :(

Actually very common for brachycephalic dogs to sleep with a toy/ball in their mouth so they can breathe through their mouth even when sleeping. Many of them can’t get enough air through just their nostrils/snouts. Not funny but serious welfare problem for these breeds.

If you happen to be one of those unlucky people who has picked a special needs or a douf fuss dog then here is a hint. do not put your animal through a stress test without showing him or her the way to get it first . Then set it up and try and see if they will do it right. All you are doing here is making your animal give up on learning then you will only have yourself to blame if he/she gets out and can't get back in the house and gets run over by a tricycle.

Poor pupper. Glad he got help! My lil Shatani (lion king refrance, not just a weird name) ate a bug that made her puff up and the vet said they couldn't take her because it wasn't urgent enough, and kept hanging up on us before that. Yeah, totally not urgent. Chihuahuas are supposed to be sad and hippo-faced, it's fine. But I guess it's fine because she learned her lesson and hasn't eaten a bug since XD

Had a dog like this. Was ball mad!! She would chase or nudge them at you until she was exhausted! For her own safety we had to hide them. That was until she took the billiard balls off the pool table, climbed the lemon tree, dug up spuds and pulled barbies head off! She would also resort to rocks... not much we could do... ended giving all her balls back and she would occasionally prefer something else to her ball (or she would loose them all). She drive us bonkers! Fainted afew times in her 21 long years! But lived a long happy life

I am not in no way shape outing I have a nice a problem and when I type the letters myself I use the large lettering so I can see what I'm doing because of my eyesight people need to get over it please look Beyond a large lettering and look at it for the content not for the lettering as I really appreciate it and fussing and griping about it is not going to fix the problem so like I told other people suck it up get over it and get on with it because I'm not going to stop making comments on Panda I feel like I have something to contribute a lot more than some of these other small-minded people that like to swear and leave stupid comments on there I have something to say and I believe I can contribute something useful! I love how so many people on all of these posts rant about America and crating our pets. Now, perhaps there is a way to access this information and I am unaware of it, but 1.) You don't know this takes place in the USA. 2.) Perhaps there is a reasonable explanation for the dog being crated. 3.) The dog may, in fact, enjoy being in the cage or crate. They may like the enclosed space, the privacy, or the cool metal (as opposed to the warm bed possibly making the dog feel too hot). Please, don't act like you are a pet expert when you are giving such little information. Speaking of this, I do not claim to be an expert, myself, and want to make that clear.

Well, some people put their dog(s) in a cage because the dog is disobedient and likes to chew stuff when their human(s) are gone. We have to put our pit mix in a cage because she likes to chew on things she finds on the floor, and she got really sick one time when we forgot to put her in her kennel, and she chewed a hole in our carpet. When we get home and open up the kennel, she doesn't leave automatically (plus she has a comfy bed in there and plenty of space, so I can see why she likes it). Some people can't afford an obedience school for their pup(s), hence the whole cage thing :) Hope this helped!

I understand if the dog prefers the cage for safety and else reasons ^^ but ... our dog was afraid of being home alone so we took him 16 years long everytime with us. Ofc we had to sacrifice some things because doggo couldnt be left alone besides in the car. Temperature was our biggest problem but we fixed it. My opinion: cage is not the solution for leaving dog home alone. They sacrifice so much for us, so we can sacrifice time. + a baby you dont leave alone and cage it at home. Dogs are like babys and should be family members :)

Is it the digital culture we live in nowadays that people feel the need to photograph an animal (or person) that is stuck (or terrified like a previous dog) instead of immediately helping it? When my animals run around the room scared because something is stuck on there head my first reaction is to save them. Not "Oh look, the dog/cat is doing something stuuuuppppiiiiid let's take a photo/film it". I rather have my pet's safe and sound instead if getting a couple more likes.

Cat ... sleeps just everywhere xD but if you have a cat pr a dog that hairs 356 days, destroys things or looses saliva, i can understand ^^ other reasons i cant understand cause they only want to be with you and whats bad on that ?? I laughed at the non-harmful ones, like laying in chalk or in grass or sleeping funny. But some of the dangerous situations are proving not the dog's an idiot, but their owner. Not only they don't think ahead, but also take pics first... I know I will get downvoted for this, but I hate to see animals ending up in "amusing" situation just cause the human doesn't predict some things and instead of helping, laughs at the animal and takes a photoshoot...

Not too be a negative nelly, but, I have to wonder how many of these were staged in order to post something to social media, just like regular humans do to themselves?

Hehe. My dog's winning moment would probably be trying to dig a hole in the blanket - he's a dachshund so he feels nice and comfy "underground" and under the blanket works just fine so he'll stand on it and try to dig. Naturally this will make the blanket come up into a ball instead of forming a hole and then the dog just sits there staring at it with totally dumbfounded expression - "wha...what? But...but I dug it! Why is there a hill instead of a nice cozy hole?D:" I usually just lift it for him to happily climb under lol

Here I thought my Dachshund was the only one who did this. She often puts the top of her head down flat and furiously digs the blanket with her front paws, looks like she's trying to dig a hole in the blanket.
